The Iranians are enriching not their peoples lives, but uranium. Check any news site. Why would Iran be enriching uranium? The only reason would be for weapons. Iranian President Mohammad Khatami: "We assure the world and the agency (IAEA) that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not pursuing destructive nuclear weapons," Yeah, and we all beleive you to. Is there any real reason in lieing when everyone knows you're lieing and you know everyone knows that you're lieing and everyone knows that you know that everyone knows that you're lieing? |

I agree completely, but apparently the new evidence backs up their claims that the equipment was contaminated before it arrived inside Iran, which is utter BS if you ask me. I don't think we are going to see any UN action though, maybe a few strong words, but no action. |

While I agree with the conclusion, the premise is false. The main reason France enriches uranium is to avoid having to store used fuel rods. Over 90% of a spent rod is still usable if it can be recycled. The recycling of spent fuel is called enrichment. Why doesn't the US enrich spent fuel to reduce storage problems and reduce the cost nuclear fuel? Politics. With that said. The UNs nuclear agency has already come out and made the same claim. Not that I trust the UN ovesight and inspection agencies, but even a broken watch is right twice a day. So maybe the UN got it right this time. BIG QUESTION. now what? where do we go from here? One key difference here is that France is a country that widely uses nuclear power to generate electricity. Iran has no such reactors. Why would Iran have these spent fuel rods in the first place? |

Partly the Iranians are claiming that their purpose is for power supply and not weapons. |

Yea, what Swidden said. They have a nuclear generation facility. Honest they do. but I think your conclusion about thier intent is true. After all if they become a nuclear power, we have to tiptoe around them like we do with the North Koreans. All in good fun ANOVA |

The uranium that they are producing is not useful for power generation, but is useful for killing people en masse. |
