What was your favorite movie from The Next Generation. I used to think First contact was, but now I think Generations was the best of this group. It just seem like it was more to the show with the way the characters acted than the others which seem really out of character. They are good as well, but this one also had more of the emotional aspect as well, like when picard got a communication from home saying that his family died in the fire. |

I was little unhappy that they destroyed the Enterprise-D, it was infact the first and only time ever we saw the main bridge while the stardrive was seperate. Unfortionitly, this was at a bad time for the crew. The Enterprise was a fine looking ship. and went before its time. I noticed one thing, during the battle on the bridge the burnt out concel in aft station its reflection looked like a small wooden house will smoke. Just look at the novel if you have it, and look at it. If not I will try to find the image. First Contact was pretty good I enjoyed that, it was one hell of a ride. Insurrection was good, but at time I flt that the crew seemed to loose, and it didn't really feel like a Next Generation we all know. Nemesis, seemed like it was 2368, ie deck 29? was John Logan aware of the destrution of the Galaxy class? Acoording to TrekPulse it had fifty mistakes. I don't care about the errors and was very disapointed by certain internet dwellers who want to spoil the story before it was even out in the movies. I saw this film in New York about two weeks after its big screen outting at the end of December, from what I over heard people actually said that they liked it, now there was very few in the theather. I enjoyed it, but why couldn't they hold off on killing Data whats the point? I would have to say all aswell. |

Time to put something here
|
Generations - It was a good movie a nice torch passing, light and airy with the fell of watching a long TNG episode. First Contact - The story, acting, and action made for a great presents on the big screen. It lacked the massage may good trek movies have, but made up for it in shear fun and excitement. Insurrection - Back to the light and airy feel for a trek movie, in contrast to First Contact. Good story but not a great movie (not a bad movie ether) Nemeses - First time I saw it (opening night, empty theater) thought it was awful. I didn’t like the change in the style. I thought it lacked the trek feel and was to watered down (to get more movie goers to see it). Also I was let down, I thought I was going in to see the best TNG movie to date, and got something on par with insurrection. So even though it wasn’t that bad, the let down made it seam worse. When I went to see it again two days later, it grow on me and I saw it for what it was. Just as insurrection, it was a good story but not a great movie (not a bad movie ether). I have only two problems with it, It was an action movie first and a star trek movie second (they thought this would get more people to see it but it didn’t) and I believe they tried to do to much in the two hours. Had they had more time, or cut some seems in the effort to better explain others it would have worked better. Data dieing was a good part. It adds to the trek universe - its not the same old boring every one is fine at the end of the movie. It allows for emotion of the other crew members to be seen. It allows for story growth (even if it has to be in books). |

First Contact is the best TNG movie, no wait best TREK movie. I liked all the other TNG movies just about equally, howevr Nemesis could tie with FC, if they had a different ending. They took my favorite, my beloved away...and for that I will always .... about that |

I give the edge to First Contact. Although Insurrection runs a surprisingly close 2nd; it offers (I believe at least) the best version of Trek ideology (Picard asking Adm. Daugherty "How many is too many?"). I have said in other postings, on other boards that my wife (not really a fan) likes this one best and is probably influenced by her Native American ancestry in her appreciation of it. Makes me wish I could offer a second vote on her behalf... |

personally...i loved nemesis but i thought that with the deleted scenes put in it would have been better...data dieing was a great idea....and to tell the truth i had tears in my eyes....dont like to admit it though lol....i thought it was a great idea...and i hope they make another movie so i can see what b4 becomes to picard...data for one instance become human when he sacrificed himself...i believe that The Next Generation crew is the best ever....even better than the originals....they should make a dvd with all the deleted scenes added in...even thought he movie would stretch to 3 hours there are alot of great trek moments in those extras |

I've really enjoyed all of the Star Trek movies that involve characters from The Next Generation cast - it was hard for me to select a single favorite. In this poll, I voted for Nemesis. I thought the underlying theme of cloning was very apropos. Data's "brother" was hilarious. And the battle scene in Nemesis was absolutely excellent - the graphics as well as the story line. I really enjoyed it. But then, I have enjoyed all of the Star Trek movies. |

First Contact was my favorite of the four. Generations, Insurrection and Nemesis fall in line after FC. I am in that so-so phase with Nemesis. I liked the movie, but I didn’t. I know that makes no sense. I will get back to you on that one after I watch the movie a couple more times.

Too bad the survey didn't have a "I didn't like any of them" option. I thought all the TNG movies were mediocre or worse. Generations: Screwed up Kirk's death, weak story. First Contact: Time Travel AND the Borg. Berman can assimilate THIS! Insurrection: Just awful. Space hippies doin' their own immortal thing. All that movie needed was to hear Charles Napier sing, "Hey brotha, goin' down to Eden..." Nemesis: I know, let's re-do Wrath of Khan, throw in elements from the latest Star Wars, add the (yawwwwwwnnnn) Romulans, and have it directed by a guy who doesn't know a thing about the Trek universe. Just shoot me now! |

First Contact for me as the best, not the best Trek movie but easily the best of the tng movies. Like the others it had too much Picard and Data and made them the stars but unlike certain later films it at least gave other people some lines. I like the presentation of Cochrane and while it was once more the Borg it didn't seem like such a waste of them this time. A few problems with it but nothing too bad. Inssurection next. When I first saw this i was :thud:, I didn't like it at all but now a while later after going back and watching it I've found burried under the boob gags and Picard finding true love we know hw will never see again, past Data "learning to play" and Riker loosing his beard (what can I say I just think he looks wrong without it) then there is actually not that bad a story. Generations, I think this only gets here as it's better than the other one, nice idea I spouse poorly done, reuse of stock footage, horrible death for Kirk, another Picard and Data love fest (I spouse this one at least gave half decent reasons for making them the stars unlike Ins and the other one. Cpuld have been done a lot better. The other one. A terrible movie that comes of as never for the fans nor for everyone else, a bad remake of Wrath of Khan, the B4 cop out for Datas death was poorly done and very obvious (yeah we're gonna kill data. Wait what happens if Brent agrees to do another movie for us ? Well w'll put in a cop out now just in case then.) Polot holes galore, bad acting, a terrible end to the tng legacy. |

Definately First Contact. I love it when part of Trek history is filled in for us, and to see how Cochrane came to test warp drive, and our first alien visitation was priceless. The comedy was well done by Frakes and Sirtis, Alfre Woodard, a fantastic actress played well off Stewart, and of course, Stewart gave a top notch performance as well. The "Moby Dick" scene is a ST classic. Not to mention when he calls Worf a coward. Do you remember ever seeing Worf more pissed? The part where they're walking on the hull was cool too, as well as the rocket launch, and of course all the other CG eye candy. The only thing I didn't like so much was the personification of the collective, but I realize they needed to have it for dramatic dilogue between Data and the Queen. Generations is second best for me. I love it up until Picard enters the nexus. Seeing the Enterprise B, again filling in some history, seeing Data adapt to the emotion chip, Malcolm McDowell was also adequately spooky. The CG eye candy was satisfying in this as well except for the fact that they used the same footage of the Bird of Prey exploding from the last movie, but the imploding star, and the crash landing was really amazing. Insurrection is next, I don't really like it so much, but it's okay I guess. I see it as where TNG begins to slip. I don't like the stupid zit and boob jokes, the HMS Pinafore, etc. On the other hand, the special effects are really awesome, and there is some merit in the story, although it was a bit "out there". They actually gave up on trying to explain something with the thermalytic thing. Usually everything is all worked out in make believe physics, but oh, well. Nemesis: I refuse to acknowledge the existance of this movie. It's really a tragedy that it was made. None of the characters were in character. It's as if the writer had no idea who he was writing for or to. (In fact it's pretty obvious he doesn't.) It's a really sad way to end the TNG legacy. But it was done right the first time with TOS, so I guess you can't be that lucky twice in Hollywood.
