Yep! TNG was defenantly the best.
I think it was better because every episode had a moral. The shows now are Star Trek just for the sake of Star Trek, but TNG was in the Star Trek universe because it was a good backdrop for the points that the writers were making.

Short Story: TNG was about now problems in a future time, the rest are just about a future time.
That's why I think TNG was the best.
Plus, the cast and crew rocked!

I voted for Data. By leaps and bounds he is the best, IMO. I have really really liked him for 16 years, one could say that I am in love with him  .

I have to go with Picard. Why? Some similarities long before he was invented:

  • Earl Grey Tea
  • Archaeology
  • Attempted piano lessons, but gave them up (in Perfect Mate his explanation is almost verbatim the one I have given on a number of occasions)
  • Ideological differences with sibling

Significant differences: No British accent and I still have my own hair :D

I voted for other, because I really liked Mott the Barber. If Berman had half a brain, he would have developed a series around Mott! What personality! What a wit! What a nice shade of blue!

Yeah, Mott Trek! Has a certain ring to it!

I voted for Worf with Picard in the number two spot. They were the only characters that never annoyed me. Of course, TNG was never my favorite.

I think I'd prefer to watch Deep Space Mott. Our favorite Bolian running a barber shop on the Federation's frontier.

My Favorite was Barkley. OK the character wasn't a full cast member, but he was definately a character worth remembering.

All in good fun

Has to be Data!

His constant quest to be human was the storyline that all us us were watching, with eagar anticipation as to what trait of humanity he was going to get next!

Only 26 votes in a poll that's been up for almost 2 years! :o :P

I have to go with Q. No character in the Star Trek world raised as many thought provoking and ethical questions for me. And funny and entertaining to boot! :)

Oh, but of those listed, I'd have to go with Picard. Honorable and diplomatic. Brave and sure. Stands by and acts on his principals!

Thanks for resurrecting this one Dude, I never voted in it!!!

I chose Picard. Often times, Stewart carried this series with his fantastic acting. The character of Picard embodies Roddenberry's vision of the 24th century as a renaissance man who always considers the ethics of every situation.
