I am still suffering from extreme disappointment at seeing last year's Hobbit. Served as a sort of Clockwork Orange therapy for me. I don't know if I can stomach the next one.

Reviews are saying this one is much improved over the last...

I may XBOX it when it is available. Doubt I'll go to a theater for it.

The special effects are super nice on the big screen.

Spoiler Alert:

The only problem I had with the new Hobbit movie was that the dragon could talk, and also could problem solve. That was too difficult for me to suspend my disbelief. Otherwise, I did enjoy the movie.

What is it about the frame rate that is bothersome? I have heard numerous complaints about this.

It has to do with the film being shot at a "High Frame Rate". For a number of reasons some folks don't care for it. Some feel it makes the effects look cheaper. Apparently it works best in the most modern theaters with the best digital projection.

yeah film is traditionally 24 frames/sec, nice and artificial just the way we likes it.... anything higher seems smoother and more realistic........ horrible, horrible reality
