I've been here for awhile. I didn't realized I had never left. AAR Hollywood is definitely into recycling. Wolverine had been rebooted again. Superman and Spider-Man had been remade. So had the Lone Ranger for which the critics dubbed "The Lone Stinker." :ermm:

Classic movies for which made MGM famous had been bombs lately. I'm sorry but I liked Wizard of Oz. It was an innocent good old fashion timeless story telling. In fact there are a lot of books base on this classic tale of a girl finding her way home and learning a lot about herself on the journey. The attempted prequel were horrible. The clones didn't do this classic any favors either. Oh well. You win some. You loose some.

I kept on hoping Hollywood will get it we need more originality to keep the studios working. Maybe this is the right time to get some new talents into the mix and see what they could bring to the entertainment business.

Just call me. I am available.

Here is a whole list of some official, some rumored remakes/reboots.

Reboot-a-palooza!

Including "Remington Steele", a series version "Hand That Rocks the Cradle", "Fargo" and 80's soap "Falcon Crest" (considering "Dallas" worked). Also on the list is Star Trek due to recent reports of conversations between CBS and Roberto Orci.

I have to agree with you there, Swidden. More reboots are in the wings. Robocop had been rebooted. The new version was actually better since it focus less on the violence and more on the human element. This was what made the original and the supporting mini series and TV series a success.

But hold on to your hats, folks. More reboots are coming.

The orignal robocop was one of my favourites cos it was so nasty

And i still kind of prefer the stop motion stuff in some situations

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
Hollywood seems to be into it's second generation of reboots where they now reboot reboots. So, I guess that'll be the future where they just pick a group of movies to remake/reboot every 15 - 20 years.

I have to believe that sooner or later they will tire of it. I have to believe that sooner or later we will get a generation of filmmakers that yearns to be original and not just when it comes to low budget art house films. At some point, someone, somewhere will get fed up and kick off a revolution. Some remakes/reboots will always be made, but the worm has to turn eventually.
