I decided to start a music recommendation thread due to finding new music or artists I like due to people saying something about them and I listen to see if I like it. Last three discoveries: Metronomy (Mike Welsby posted a few videos), Lindsay Stirling (someone on Livejournal posted a few videos) and Neil Young (Husband's nephew was playing 'After The Gold Rush') Not even in the same genre, which is fine since my musical tastes are a bit eclectic anyway. I tend to pick up a bit here and there for various reasons. With Numbers by Kraftwerk it made me laugh when i was having a bad day, with Mitternacht I liked the music and loved the video that went with it. The point of this thread would be for people to list what they like and others to suggest what they might like and then put what they like and so on. Here are the ones I like and why: I put them behind a spoiler cut to take up less space. Spoiler: click to toggle There were three more but I didn't list them. Edited by Sophie, May 3 2012, 09:54 PM.

Looks like I found another favorite in Meat Loaf. Have you ever tried Pink Floyd? |

Pink Floyd is great, but not in my top list. I listen to them occasionally and have several of their albums. People hear my favorites and are surprised to find Meatloaf and Bob Marley among them. lol Edited by 8247, May 4 2012, 03:07 AM.

"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" is a special song for me and the Hubby. We were out in a large group of people when this song was played and he got up the nerve to ask me to dance for the first time (he is not much of a dancer, but this isn't really a dance song!) Ever since we call it "our" song. |

I think 'For Cryin Out Loud' and 'Bat out of Hell' are my 2 favorite Meatloaf songs. |

Sounds a lot like my wife's playlist, but then throw in some belly dance music and you've nailed it. (It turns out Bun likes to hear the belly dance music as my wife drives.) |

I'd add The Beatles (any album following With the Beatles) Electric Light Orchestra (any album following ELO II, but leaving off the final album Balance of Power) Saga (Silent Knight, Worlds Apart and Heads and Tails) Alan Parsons Project (any album) I see you already have The Sweet, Benatar, and Styx on there. Oh, Deep Purple (anything from their second line-up). The Move (any album) Kool and the Gang (any album before Everybody's Dancin') Genesis (any album but Calling All Stations) |

Admiralbill: Yeah, The Beatles were one of the ones I didn't list because I thought the list was getting too long. ![]() I'd recommend E Nomine for 8247. To try anyway. |

I am so sick of ZZ Top, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin because they have been played every hour on every rock station for the past 30 years. |
