Houston Oilers. Well, actually I like to think of myself as a Patriot but I don't want to be insensitive to, ummmm, growth challenged individuals so I don't want to be anti-giant. I'll just root for the guys who walk the stands selling beer. Edited by Hoss, Jan 25 2012, 02:13 PM.

I'll be rooting for New England of course, but I think that the Giants will win this game. It should be a good one.

I don't care who's in the superbowl, as long as there's a big screen t.v. and some awesome party snacks! LOL! |

Co worker of my sister in New York state used to live down the street from a Buffalo Bills coach who later went on to work for the Giants. According to my sister, when they were neighbors, he did a favor for the coach. So after the Giants made the Super Bowl, he asked for two Super Bowl tickets as repayment and the guy came through. If the Giants won, he also got into the victory party after the game - so I was rooting for the Giants on his behalf. I also can't stand Bill Bellichek. Edited by Wichita, Feb 6 2012, 06:52 AM.

Congratulations to the New York Giants and their fans on their second Super Bowl in four years. They played well and deserved to win. My family and I watched this game as we do each year. Our younger kids watch it to see the commercials, as it's the only time in our home that we watch them (we mute all commercials during any other show we watch). Anyway, last night, my twelve-year old daughter was really into the game. When bed time came, she pleaded with me to watch the rest of the game, so I let her. After Welker dropped the pass that (IMO) would have sealed the game for New England, and I saw that Eli Manning had enough time to march down the field (all they needed was a field goal), I turned to her and told her that the Patriots weren't going to win this game. Although she looked a bit bummed, I reminded her of the Bruins being the Stanley Cup Champions (we watched that last year as well), and then reminded her that in the past ten years, the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins have (collectively) won seven titles out of ten years, which isn't too bad. That brought a smile to her face, and more importantly, it got her to thinking about the other sports teams that I follow and it lit a small fire of curiosity about a couple of those other teams. All in all, a good night.

Watched the first half of the game at my brother's house. Left before Madonna came out as it was a 2 and half hour drive home for me and the kids and I am not that much of an NFL fan anyhow and I certainly would rather watch a dog squat than watch madonna. Had enough of her in the 80s. As far as the commercials - kind of tired of them and the competition to have some notable commercial for a car or beer. No superbowl ad is going to make me more or less interested in a particular brand of car or beer, I want what I want.

"No superbowl ad is going to make me more or less interested in a particular brand of car or beer." Hoss, You know, that's a fair point. I am not influenced to purchase anything by commercials (well, as I wrote, I don't listen to or watch them except once a year). What's really funny (at least to me) is that after they are over, I will ask my children what the product was that was being advertised during the commercial. So, it could have been coke, or pepsi -- I really have no lasting impression of what product was tied to what commercial when I watch them. |

My oldest made a surprise visit home Saturday night, so I had to bring her back to school after dinner and heard the first half on the radio in the car. Got home right at halftime, so saw the glorious remainder of the game on tv. BIIIIIIIIIIG BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEE!!!!!! And Giselle Bunchen did her best to make Tom's trip back home as uncomfortable as possible... |

I grew up a huge Giants fan. I still am, to a lesser extent. That being said, I MISSED nearly all of the Super Bowl. My wife and I were flying back from the NYC area on the evening of Sunday the 5th. We got one update at halftime (10-9), and nothing after that. After landing I saw two seconds of the game on a bar TV in Terminal E. I figured we'd catch the game on the radio on the drive home. By the time we were on the road the game ended, and I had no idea who won for about fifteen minutes! |
