So far I am "thumbs up" on this post alien invasion TV show.

(Noah Wylie always works for me. )

I was one of those people who watched "Independence Day" and wondered what happens next more than celebrated the destruction of the alien ships so I may not be the best judge.

I started watching when it premiered, but I have gotten behind. I'm hoping to get caught up on it real soon.

Thank goodness for DVRs.

I have the first two episodes DVR'd. Our eldest son really likes it; he said the acting was quite good in the episodes he's seen.

O/T --

Fire,

I watched a handful of The Twilight Zone marathon (Sci-Fi channel) tonight. I got to see Kirk (er, actually, 'Bob') in The Nightmare At 20,000 Feet, and Mr. Bemis (Burgess Meredith, our beloved Penguin) in Time Enough At Last. Both of these are some of my favorites. The one with Maple Street in the title is on later; I may DVR that one as it too is among my favorites.

I forgot to tell you about the marathon. I had a feeling you knew about it. Time Enough At Last went off ten minutes ago. I'm watching The Howling Man right now.

Fire,

I was gratified to introduce my younger children to this wonderful series over the weekend. I told them that it had been my mother's favorite sci-fi series. I wish I had had the chance to watch the entire series with her before her passing.

Back on topic --

I am pleased that the pilot for Falling Skies (Pilot) aired again yesterday. I DVR'd that one and the second episode. I'll probably watch them later today or tonight.

I watched the pilot of Falling Skies ("Pilot") last night. I did like some of it. The non-use of CGI intrigued me, as I love that kind of thinking when it comes to aliens. Some of the characters were interesting, and I particularly liked Tom Mason and Anne Glass. And Matt Mason reminded me somewhat of Uli (Ulysses Adair) from Earth 2. (Actually, apart from the story line, I felt like I was watching some of Earth 2 --the overall 'atmosphere' of Falling Skies reminded me of that series somewhat. I asked my sons to name any other show that they were thinking of when they were watching Falling Skies last night, and the first show that came to mind was Earth 2.)

I have "Grace" (episode three) taped, but somehow we missed "Prisoner Of War" (episode two). I really hope the second episode is aired again soon; I'd rather not watch this miniseries out of order.

TNT usually showed the episodes several times during the week. They also have catch-up marathon where they show all of the episodes to date.
