The Possibility of a Small Screen Series.

A live-action 'Star War's TV show? Yes, it's been talked about before, but George Lucas has been mum on details ... until now.

According to the New York Post, Lucas has 50 hours of a 'Star Wars' TV series planned. That's at least two seasons.

What's the hold up? Technology. Lucas reportedly told G4 that he's waiting for "a different type of technology we can use so it's economically feasible to shoot the shows."

Lucas said the financial difference between producing movies and TV shows is too vast right now.

The series will take place between 'Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith' and 'A New Hope.'

Meanwhile, 'Star Wars: Clone Wars,' the animated Cartoon Network series, is still alive and kicking. Its fourth season debuts this fall.

Given Lucasfilm's ability to develop film tech, I won't be surprised if it this series turns up in the next couple of years.

I hope that they don't A) try to make it too teenage, romance, Melrose Place, friendly and B) make is a Jar-Jar et. al. puppet show with childish gags.

Too bad John Candy is dead, he could play Mog.

I just read about this on another Board. This sounds very interesting. I know a couple of my children will love this news.

Although I know it would be nearly impossible for a variety of reasons, I wish Lucas would complete his original idea, and create films 7-9.

Word.

I have a feeling there's been too much done post Ep. VI now in novels and such that are considered SW canon that trying to find a place to set the movies and which storyline to follow would get fans in an uproar if they don't fit in right.

Maybe they could have someone like Yoda get trapped in a temporal vortex while pursuing some bad enemy dude and get sent back to the moments before Annikan's birth.....

Apparently we look like this now
LOL Hoss! I imagine the series will be 'the dark times' that Obi Wan referred to in Episode 4.

It's not going to happen, Fes, since Timothy Zahn had wrote and completed the series.

We know there is at least a twenty years gap between Episode III and Episode IV. This leave plenty of room for Lucas to explore. Maybe it will be about raise of the Galactic Empire? :chin: Frankly a TV series will be harder to produce than novels or cartoons.

So logically I think we will see a new animated series based on this unexplored era.
