There is nothing wrong with seeing things (not everything) in shades of "left or right." It shows you have a compass. Not everything is a shade of gray.

As for the fall of the Soyuz Sovietskiiy, I saw it coming before Gorbachev's arrival. Yuri Andropov was the beginning of the end.

As for movies, yes it is a movie, but movies are usually about "things." The Bond flick was one big snarky leftie slap at the USA.

Have a nice day

There are just two things I want to say about that article. First, they were eight graders which is 13-14 years old, but the article and even a few in this thread are discussing "Americans". That's a comparison of the general American public to a very specific group of kids. Furthermore, they were all in the same school - a factor which itself might possibly have some influence on their behavior (I'm not suggesting that would have to be the school itself - maybe the area, popular opinion, or something else).

That said, there is plenty of intolerance out there among adults and in various places, but people are kidding themselves if they think it's party specific. One of the most likely places you can observe that intolerance is in a homogeneous group of people where they feel safe expressing it. That sounds pretty true of that school as well.

You are correct;

intolerance is everywhere and comes from people from all walks of life. But it is disheartening to see it come from a political party who's top tenant is the elimination of intolerance.

Agreed.

I've had similar thoughts about some people who call themselves Star Trek fans.

neat trick Dwayne, you replied without lifting a finger, well done.

A compass aye? the thing with relying on a compass is they are effected by many sources and your perspective of north and south can be wayyy off.

"As for the fall of the Soyuz Sovietskiiy, I saw it coming before Gorbachev's arrival. Yuri Andropov was the beginning of the end."

And would you care to explain how you came to this conclusion? What signs were there that you could see was leading to the end?

I have yet to see the movie but when I do I will be looking for what you describe.

Have a nice day you say.. but somehow I don't believe you actually mean it Admiral

I don't understand what your point is and I don't understand how come you haven't stampeded the US members to reply in a hostile manner.
