I came across this on WaPo...
Luis Fortuno caucused with the republicans in Congress and now his pro-statehood party has won big in Puerto Rico. What does this portend for PR statehood? Are we seeing the formation of America's 51st state? On another note... big time democrat donor, Robert M. Feldman and others from Philadelphia, were indicted on the actions that were designed to help Acevedo-Vila break the law. |

I don't think Puerto Rico will ever become a state. However, I do think, with the proper economic base they could win their independence and become a sovereign nation. |

Hmmm... can't agree or disagree... interesting prespective tho. Why do you think the Puerto Ricans would want to start financing their own way? Wouldn't becoming their own nation necessarily result in an increase in expenditures for their nation? |
