Apparently we look like this now
http://blogs4mccain.com/2008/10/14/howard-stern-harlem-voters/

Howard Stern sent people into Harlem, asking who they will vote for. But, they related to Obama with McCain's policies. The people voting for Obama said they were for McCain's policies...but had no idea they were McCain's.

Interesting.

Yes... I've seen it. Those people I doubt will vote anyway, so I never posted here.

I think I commented on this somewhere.

A little sad, though (the reaction from those questioned).

I mean, why can't someone just come out and say, "I'm voting for Obama because I want a black man in the White House," or "I'm voting McCain because I want a white man in the White House?" While it is simplistic it shows what you're truly for, not what you want other people to think you support.

Interesting.
But not surprising.

People who regularly read about and discuss issues are the minority in this country.

We'd be better off if the ballot had issues and not candidates. You'd vote on each issue and then your vote is given to the candidate who most agrees with your views.

^^^ That just doesn't sound like a good plan to me.
