Actually, the fraud was well investigated in the last two elections. In Missouri, people went to jail for their efforts at illegally affecting the election. In Wisconsin, a sweeping report was prepared on the fact that, in 2004 as in 2000, more people voted in Milwaukee than were registered to vote there. A police unit was actually devoted to the effort. Yesterday, they were told to stand down and not permitted to go to any precints. The head of the unit is retiring early in protest. In Ohio, the claims were investigated rather thoroughly - and, with the exception of the Acorn registers, were found to be either without merit or actually affecting both parties equally. The efforts to squash military voters in 2000 led to a law being passed to try and protect their rights so there must have been merit there found upon investigation. And, since in Obama's own words, he has indicated he has voted for tax increases for people in my same situation - and I make NO WHERE near $250,000 (which actually was done to $120,000 by the time of the election) - I think it is reasonable for me to be cautious about the possibility of my taxes being increased in the future. I wouldn't use the word fearful, however, I simply plan to postpone a home improvement that would have provided jobs and income to a local contractor. I will bank the money instead until I find out what he - and more importantly, the Democratic congress - has planned. |

How about the simple fact he can't do what he's promised without growing government by another trillion dollars? How about the simple fact he can't do what he's promised without expanding those taxed to below the $250,000 per year threshold? How about the simple fact he wants to increase corporate tax rates from 25% to 35%, and if that does come to fruition, I will have to fire 1 employee or raise my rates? In the end, obama is not a leader, he's your messiah. And if you don't think 2000 and 2004 weren't investigated or investigated 'very little', then you're terminally obtuse. My messiah? Where do you come up with this? So he's my messanger? I have no idea what you are talking about. And thank you Dwayne for proving again what a waste of time it is to talk to you. If we can spend 800 billion dollars fighting a war against someone who did nothing to hurt us, then we can spend some money investing in infrastructure in the US such as creating alternative energy to reduce reliance on foreign oil. But again, if the first response you have to me after not speaking for several months is that my choice for president is "my messiah" then there is no point discussing anything with you. |

Actually, it wasn't my first response... I distinctly counted three statements/questions before that... but hey, I've never seen a democrat that was capable of understanding something so simple.

So, instead the government must penalize the productive? Is that it? So the government can still keep writing checks to welfare cheats and illegal aliens. That's okay with you? "Bummed" is an understatement. ANY moderately successful small business owner is screwed unless he/she makes some major changes now. Do you want to know what will happen? It is simple, and it will affect EVERYONE. The Democrats will simply let the Bush tax cuts expire. While my effective top tax rate will rise, so will everyone else's. Oh, you don't remember? The bottom tax rate went from 15% to 10% for the first $8000 of taxable income back in 2003. As for your last paragraph, there was a great deal of investigation into charges of voter fraud in the previous two presidential elections. Even the major newspapers took up the charge in 2000. I believe your memory is somewhat "selective" in this topic. |
