Well, I think the message to Republicans is clear. Don't use someone as your poster boy unless you have all the facts.

I don't know why people are coming to Joe's defence. The man is reveling in the publicity.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081031/ap_on_re_us/joe_the_plumber_publicist

I heard about his retention of the PR firm about a week ago and this article is about a week or so old. It's not new news that the man wants to put out a country music album.

So, those who question his commitment to buy a plumbing firm when he is not a licensed plumber are not stretching things much. In light of his public aspirations I don't think it's that much of a stretch to suggest that he himself may have been the origilnal leak of his address to the blogs.

As for the other inquiries into his life by the local government officials - none of the articles I have read have indicated the political affiliation of the official involved. It is not fact by a long shot that this person is a Democrat. One or two people here seem convinced that she was a Democrat - but this should not be taken as fact.

The only fact that I see is that Joe the Plumber is reveling in the spotlight and totally enjoying the notoriety it has brought.

I don't feel sorry for him in the least.
Minuet, in the US, a person who is the victim of a crime has the right to sue the person who committed the crime for damages. If Joe chooses to do so, he most likely WILL win enough money from the state of Ohio to purchase that business.

Just because the Democratic Governor (which, by the way, IS A FACT that he is a Democrat) doesn't think the investigation into his private records is politically motivated does not mean that the courts will agree and Joe has every legal right to sue.

There were actually four different investigations into Joe's records. One woman has already been charged with a crime for doing so. The woman who authorized the investigation into his child support records gave the maximum amount of money to Obama's campaign. Donation records are, by law, public so that is a fact.

Now, you are right. The fact that she gave the maximum amount of money to the Democratic candidate does not make her a Democrat. However, it would seem to be pretty convincing evidence that she supports the candidacy of the person who Joe asked the question of originally.

Everything you say about Joe AFTER THE FACT may be completely correct.

It is, however, irrelevent to the arguement that I am making.

My point is and had always been that he had a right to privacy from his state records being released without probable cause of a crime being committed.

If, after the fact of his rights being violated, he chooses to capitalize on the release of his records, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I will point out one last thing. When and if he chooses to sue the state, it will cost me PERSONALLY money as a taxpayer in the state of Ohio if he wins. . Nonetheless, I believe that he has a right to do so and will most likely win.
I hope that Noah will read this. It may help him understand that he is completely wrong.

His opinion is noted, but it does not reflect the facts.

F-Bombs Land Bay Area Radio Personality in Hot Water
Host thought his mic was off
Updated 7:09 AM PST, Thu, Nov 6, 2008

KGO talk show host Charles "Karel" Bouley has been suspended from his duties after he said the f-word over the air.

The host apparently thought his mic was off.

"Karel" had taken a call Saturday night from a listener who wanted to talk about the now famous "Joe the Plumber," whose real name is Joe Wurzelbacher.

After that call came the top-of-the-hour national news feed. Karel thought his mic was off, but it was still live and broadcast his real thoughts over the air to thousands of listeners.

He used several obscenities about Sen. John McCain's comments concerning the Ohio man.

The clip can be seen on this youtube clip.

Karel was heard saying, "I want mother-f---ing Joe the plumber dead."

Karel's Saturday show is pre-empted by a football game. KGO has not announced officially what will happen during his Sunday slot.

The host has since apologized for the outburst saying, "I am deeply sorry that went out."

And the media take in the title of the article is also interesting in that the title tries to suggest the man was suspended for using the f-word, but not his desire to see someone dead.

Admiral, but what if I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want something to be true. Doesn't THAT change the facts?

Now, he could have apologized for saying it but no, he apologized that it was heard on the air.

So, I gather that he didn't make this statement in the "heat of passion" (so to speak)? Where's the outrage? I'm sure someone will bring up G. Gordon Liddy's call to shoot federal agents who trespass on your property without a warrant (I thought he was brought up in another thread during the election cycle), but not a peep about this?

KGO should fire this guy. None of this mamby-pamby suspension. He made a threat. He called for a specific person to be killed.

Here we go again.

One idiot shoots off his mouth and suddenly he represents "the Dems"

Utterly ridiculous. And this from someone who has clearly stated in the past that he does not represent the opinion of all Republicans............

Well Min, considering the tactics of the governor of Ohio... 8247's comments seem to have a little merit here...

Consider if you will what happened to Sarah Palin. Battalions of investigators "parachuting" into Alaska to dig up dirt. Allegations that Palin's latest pregnancy was a fake to cover up for her daughter's pregnancy? Hit pieces in glossy magazines. Allegations of incest that even made it to a television show.

Before you say, "what about Obama" think about that. The only irrational claim was the "he's a Muslim and wasn't born in this country" screed. It wasn't only false, it was ridiculous on the merits (you'd think that someone would know if he was born in this country BEFORE he ran for president). Aside from that, let's see... Bill Ayers was true. Jeremiah Wright was true. His comments to Joe the Plumber were on tape. His recent comments about bankrupting coal companies who build new plants was on tape. His voting record is published. I could go on if you'd like.

Joe the Plumber certainly has been making the rounds on various talking head shows.

I'm wondering how long he is going to milk his 15 minutes of fame.

If that moonbat Cindy Sheehan can do it for 4+ years, I'm sure Joe can do it for at least another month or so...But, he isn't annoying the president. ;)
