Still married; 27th wedding anniversary coming soon.

Must be something wrong with me - most my contemporaries (friends known from school and dancing, siblings, cousins) have been married and divorced , some remarried , some are even serial offenders (married and devorced and married again several times - not to the same man or woman though).

I've been with the same girl since 1979 and married her in 1981. My elder child turned 25 last week.

What am I doing wrong ? I've never strayed or even been seriously tempted (though I do enjoy window shopping).

Congratulations to all of you. Somerled, Swidden and Minuet.

Quite an accomplishment indeed.

Somerled, quit window shopping. Your wife might throw you out of said window.

Congrats on the happiness. I have 20 with my belle, 16 married. Single would be horrible. Congrats on your success.

She doesn't seem to mind - so long I do NOT touch their "assets".

Was pretty hard not to touch the assets the other day when we went to a restraunt here in Singapore and the platter was served on a totally naked chinese lady - she was the serving platter !! very pretty and shapely too .... umm , the food was to kill for . The tour included lunch at the IndoChine Singapore Nude Restraunt. I would post a photo but I think I'd be banned for doing so.

We have been married for ten years this past April. I surprised the wife on our anniversary by getting the the same room as our wedding night for our anniversary.

Unfortunately the fully self contained holiday appartment we stayed in for our honeymoon (on the Gold Coast) was redeveloped about 10 years after stayed. There's a tall motel / shopping complex on the site now.
We spent 3 weeks at the Gold Coast and never once went to the beach for a swim or sunbake.
We spent our wedding night in our flat (which was on the hill at Nesca Pde in Newcastle and while the flat is still there , it was like living in broom closet it was S-M-A-L-L ! ! ! ! (one bedroom , I've stayed in motel rooms bigger !!). And the driveway was S-T-E-A-P , we were in the flat near the top - great view of the city lights at nighttime from our living room window was about the only thing it going for it , other than the reasonable rental ($70 per week including water and electricity and fully furnished if I remember correctly). We only rented for 9 months (6 months as married couple) then I bought the house we still live in.

--Just kidding. Congratulations all. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Actually I feel sorry for myself. I'm going to drink a whole bottle of wine now. Be back later in an intoxicated state. ;)

Congratulations Somerled. There is much to be said about a man who can stay faithful to his wife for that long or always.
