My new toy , had to wait 3 months for it come from Vixen in Japan . Arrived yesterday :woohoo:

mine is the New Atlux and has the latest controller (not the old Skysensor2000PC shown in the picture).

It's a beast , makes my old Celestron mount look like a toy. Weight = HEAVy , will make my muscles work moving it and the heavy duty tripod about to do astroimaging at my favourate dark site.

I considered the next one up , the Galax , but it's not a portable GEM , is meant to go onto a permanent pier in an observatory.

Autoguider on the way too.
I'm sorry, but why is this a "boy's toy?" Women aren't allowed near telescopes in your home?

Now THIS is a boy's toy:

I hate to burst your bubble Bubba but I do the majority of the grilling in my household.

I guess that makes you as big a chauvanist as Somerled :rotfl: :wave2:

We have one of those too , not the same brand . My wife uses it as often as I do.

The Atlux is too heavy for my wife to move about. No doubt there are lady amateur astronomers out there , some might even have an Atlux , that they get their hubies , boyfields, brothers or dads to move about and assemble for them. Weighs about 80 lbs (mount + tripod + counterweights) , then add the telescope and camera gear.

Been cloudy every night since it arrived .... so I've not had a chance to test it out in the field yet.
