I'm not dead

Posted by Admiralbill_gomec (Flag Officer) at May 20 2013, 03:27 PM. 7 comments

Really, I'm not. No one else is, either. I've had a lot of major "things" to deal with in the past few months and haven't spent a lot of time on the web at all. I'd rather not discuss them at large.

I'll be back soon.

Frimp, I haven't forgotten. My "to do" is as long as my arm right now.

Best,

ABG

Employees children in the office

Posted by Wichita (Admin) at May 12 2013, 05:08 PM. 8 comments

When acceptable ... when not?

For the record my employer does have an onsite day care which is not free to the employee but is an option. Also the situation that has prompted my question does not involve a child with a disability.

I like it. It took me some getting used to, but I like it. I still like the old one better, but it could be much worse. Still waiting to see what the new uniform scheme will be though. I guess it will be around the draft.

I voted the third one though. ;)

"Final Wishes"

Posted by Wichita (Admin) at Apr 13 2013, 12:11 PM. 3 comments

Yesterday was April 12th - birthday of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

She died in November ... he died yesterday on his birthday. In both cases the illnesses were long and drawn out - it's hard to see someone you love suffering so death also brought some relief for the families.

What it has also prompted is a discussion of what you want for your funeral ... if you want one at all ... among relatives.

So, that's my question:

When it is your time to go, do you have "final wishes"?

Extended Human Life-Span

Posted by Hoss (Counsel) at Apr 1 2013, 10:46 AM. 2 comments

Seems like I have been reading/hearing a lot recently about science extending the human life-span and stopping aging and such statements as the "the first person to live to 200 has already been born".

Perhaps I don't know what is going on, but I just haven't seen evidence of this in the world. Maybe there is some medical break-thru on its way through the FDA that is going to stop aging in people, I don't know. We talk about how the average life expectancy had gone up so much over the last century, but it seems to me that that is because we have successfully fought almost all infectious diseases and gotten very good at keeping old people alive; not that we have stopped aging at all.

What about you? Any of you expect to live to 150, 200, beyond? I figure I'll die in my late 70s to early 80s and I'm pretty good with that.

Come up with a new signature for Hoss

Enter your suggestions and we'll have a poll, and as long as it is not disgusting, I'll make it my sig.

Why Doesn't Hoss

So....... why do you think Hoss chooses to have an empty signature line?

I'm baaaack!

Its been hell, but such is the story of my life. I'm still married, so all of you who bet less than 5 years in the pool LOSE! ;)

I'm not going to post what my next move is because it seems that whenever I post it online, it blows up in my face. I will say that my end game is to go back home. Home to Florida. I swore when I left there in 2000, that I would never move back. Now, 13 years later, its the only place I want to be. Home is where the heart is, I guess.

I'm not working on the Buttcrack Brothers TV show stuff for now. Its on the back burner. I am now working on an original sci fi series, which I have spent the last 6 months writing. I have 23 episodes, and a shitload of ideas for more, including an arc that is already taking shape, but will continue for 4 seasons. Plus, I have a contact. This show is even more unique than Farscape. That's all I will say about it. I have planned to get a booth at thw 2014 Comic Con in San Diego to promote the series. By then, I should have at least 4 seasons.

I put Jag, Dante and Franko in the description because they were very good in the original Fan Fic that we had here, and I would like more input as well as complete episodes from others in this.

Anyway, I'm glad to be back online again.
