Obviously, the purpose of this thread is for posting videos of animated WG, whether they're on YouTube, Google Video, or just plain old video files like avis and mpegs. What this thread is not for is long discussions about a specific clip, video hosting sites, or anything else like that. So there's some kinds of posts you can't make here. 1. No 'thank you' or 'this is awesome' posts. Consider your gratitude for the clip and your feelings on it to already be known, so there's no need to make a 1-line post about it. 2. No posts about the sites the videos are posted on. Whether YouTube sucks and hates fatties or not is not to be discussed here. 3. No posts where you ask, beg, or demand that people post more videos. If there haven't been any videos posted in a while, then that means THERE AREN'T ANY TO POST. Whining about it will only get you ridicule and scorn. Now for some things you CAN make posts about. I'm not going to force people to post a vid to be allowed to ask something, since they're too scarce for that kind of restriction. 1. Information about where the clip is from, like what cartoon or anime it's from. Naturally, if something in the post already provides that information, whether the poster mentions what it's from(which I implore posters to do, to cut down on people asking), it says on the website the video is posted on, or it's in the title of the video file, then asking shouldn't be necessary. Only ask what the clip is from if you've looked and couldn't find it yourself. 2. Saying that the link in a post is no longer functioning or not actually related to animated WG. Whether the video was taken down from the site, or the link is broken, or the video is about something other than animated fatness or WG, making a post to say this is allowed. Just MAKE SURE IT HASN'T ALREADY BEEN MENTIONED. Only one post is necessary to let me or another mod know, and then we can delete that post and the post mentioning that it doesn't work. That way, if someone finds another copy of that clip that works, they'll post it instead of thinking it's already been posted. 3. Asking for help when a video clip isn't working for you. This is for when someone posts a file like an avi or an mpg that won't work for you. There shouldn't be a lot of these showing up, though. More often than not the problem is going to be that you don't have the proper codecs to play the file. You should PM the person who posted it first asking what codecs are needed, then find and download them yourself. If it still doesn't work, or the person who posted it doesn't know what's needed to make the video work, then you can make a post for help. |

Well i'm on mac, so i just have to press alt-option-a and it brings up a screen with all the files on that particular webpage and i just have to doulbe click to download. You can also get the Download Helper Firefox plugin. That just scans the URL directly on the page, then gives you a list of what it can download from it. |
