Make Progress I was very fortunate to learn that the library had stocked this rare Jpop album from the Jpop princess herself. It’s her second album from Japan, and has not been released overseas, which means big bucks for getting the Japan version. Color Insert Album front: She wears a black jacket, and what seems like a miniskirt and long laced boots. Well they’re actually shorts after seeing the other pic on the back. The inside pictures are of her either driving or posing with some futuristic car. She also sports several cute dresses and of course never directly looks at the camera. Track list and Angus’ comments. 1. Fly away (4:08) great opener suitable for Gundam shows. Nice and upbeat, does want to make you spread your wings/arms and fly. 2. Reason (4:50) same as singles version, played on Gundam Seed as a theme song 3. Daybreak (4:12) time for some disco music! Something you can do the hustle but still has the girly charm of her style. 4. Future Step (3:59) I call this one the Hannah Montana song since she sings it with that show tunes stage voice. It’s got a fast beat. 5. Truth (4:38) I think of this as the companion song to Prayer, and it’s my absolute favorite on the album if I excluded the other major singles. Simply awesome. 6. Daitani Ikimashou - Heart and Soul (3:11)– plays just like the singles version. The one that sounds like that Grease song since she says “boys and girls” a lot and “I say”. 7. Make Progress inst (1:10) this is just a short instrumental filler song of techno rave stuff 8. Heroine (4:46) same as singles version. Techno standard. My favorite among the regular singles but oh so many to choose. 9. (Japanese title) (4:49) This reminds me of the 1980’s. Got the heavy synth plus the clapping. This is the one where she says “lovely darkness, enjoy darkness” a lot. 10. You (5:38) A soft ballad where she actually wrote the lyrics. There’s a little bit of piano, but this is the most Jpop of the bunch. 11. Fortune (4:22) same as singles version. Seen it a lot on Revolution. 12. DreamerS (5:08) She wrote this song too. It’s upbeat and happy, a bit like Cross Season 13. Distance bonus track (4:52) – she seems to repeat a motif 14. Reason Reproduction flashforward mix (4:31) – this is just a remix. She doesn’t add any new lyrics or sing it any differently. The bridge part has some siren sounds that confused me. I wish they would bring over this one and more of her albums! I'll see if I can get around to snapping some low res pics of the insert. |
