NINTENDO'S NEW WII ZAPPER TARGETS FUN First Wii Game-Play Accessory Comes Packaged with Zelda Software REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 10, 2007 - Nintendo announced today that the Wii Zapper™ interface for the hit Wii™ home video game system will come packed with Link's Crossbow Training™. The software is based on the hugely popular Legend of Zelda® series and provides a perfect demonstration of the way the Wii Zapper could be used in other games. The Wii Zapper casing houses both the motion-sensitive Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers in a single unit for precision targeting. It goes on sale Nov. 19 at an MSRP of just $19.99. "The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade-style games," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. "Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game-play experiences." Link's Crossbow Training drops players into a world in the style of The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess. Players assume the identity of hero Link, who progresses through a series of tests to perfect his crossbow marksmanship. Start with stationary bull's-eyes and graduate to moving targets before defending Link against all kinds of enemies. Third-party publishers have lined up to support the Wii Zapper. EA's Medal of Honor Heroes™ 2 lets players take World War II into their hands with the Wii Zapper. The game features an all-new Wii-exclusive Arcade Mode that offers accessibility to gamers of all skill levels, a full single-player campaign and support for up to 32 players in multiplayer. Capcom's Resident Evil®: The Umbrella Chronicles reveals the back story behind the fall of the Umbrella Corporation by exploring locations from Resident Evil 0, 1, 2 and 3, as well as new never-before-seen locations like Umbrella's stronghold. One or two players use the Wii Zapper to take aim against a horde of zombies in first-person perspective. SEGA's Ghost Squad™ lets players replicate the arcade light-gun experience at home with the Wii Zapper. Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com. The worldwide innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its Wii™, Nintendo DS™, Game Boy® Advance and Nintendo GameCube™ systems. I love the concept of the Wii Zapper and all but why do i wanna hold a gun when i'm shooting arrows from a bow? So why didn't they make a Wii Bow? haha What do you think, Arnell? |

Have you seen the Wii Zapper? It's not the best model I've seen for a gun for the Wii. Definitely beats the Wii Blaster. Look up some of the different Light Gun type attachments for the Wii. Some are way better than others. There have been maybe 2 third-party light gun attachments for the Wii I've that I like. But I am a sucker for First Party peripherals. When I get one, I'll make a final judgment on it, but as long as it feels right with the game (Zelda Crossbow Training or Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles which I plan to get) then I'll be satisfied. |

Yes, i have seen a few model light guns for the Wii and yes the Wii Zapper looks cool don't get me wrong. It's just i could probably tape mine over my plastic rifle and pretend is the same thing. haha And you really want to get both Resident Evil and Zelda Crossbow? That too me is like 13% of their real games pushed to the limit to have an excuse to make a new game. I mean when i play Zelda i know part of it will involve using the bow but i don't wanna play Zelda game that's entirely of just using the bow. |

The Zelda one I'm not super excited about. Just think it would be interesting. Resident Evil though, that's another story. It plays through Resident Evil 0, 1, 2, and 3 and gives some new missions involving more of Umbrella's side of things. It's not going to play through the whole game (0-3), but change it enough to make it more like the arcade shooters and keeping all content in tact. Plus it is multiplayer so you can play as Billy and Rebecca (0), Chris and Jill (1), Leon and Claire (2), and the Hispanic guy and Jill (3). At first I didn't care to try this game because I thought it would be like the Resident Evil: Dead Aim series. Check out the official site about it and maybe you'll think differently about Umbrella Chronicles. Resident Evil - click It does help if you are a fan of the series, which I am. |

That sounds like fun replaying updated Resident Evil games; I'm glad they are redoing some and getting rid of the clunky old interfaces of generations past. I mean who'd want to play the original Prince of Persia anymore after Ubisoft took it over? |

Angus, there's a version of the original POP on Xbox Live Arcade with updated graphics. I played the demo and it left me wanting more cause it was so good and i've played POP on PS2. Arnell, didn't know you get to play through RE 1, 2, and 3. That definitely makes it more interesting. And i remember the hispanic guy and it's name was Angelo, get it right Arnell. haha |
