Super Member Posts: 673 Group: Member Member #6,774 Joined: June 23, 2005	im so bummed right now and even though its a snow day i just cant go back to sleep without posting this. so i was flipping through my march issue of seventeen when i came across an article that honestly made me feel like sht and i cried. i know right now you are prolly think "omfg whats wrong with this girl?" but honestly please do read on. the article is about the incident that took place on may 25th, 2005 when 4 teenagers killed an harmless homeless for the "fun" of it. it goes on to talk about the details of the murder where they just hit him over and over again and bashed him face in and kicked him and one of them broke his ribes and some guy slammed a board with a nail on it right into his skull. (omfg im tearing up) the homeless guys name is MICHAEL ROBERTS AKA MICKEY and he was a 53 year old man. you know whats the sick part? he pleaded for them to stop. he asked why were they doing this to him. and when they left he even crawled 15ft away from where he was first assulted but they came back with another guy and continued the torture. and at their court apperance they showed no remorse for what they did, but they are paying for it now each of them are serving a sentence of 22-35 yrs in life. one boy even tried to make a plea but the judge denied him(go judge) and his dad had the guts to say its unfair -__- this is a new trend in america right now its called bum hunting and its basically when teenagers go around town looking to beat up homeless people just because they are homeless. thats effin sick and theres honestly got to be something wrong with you for doing that. the results are usually fatal from these beatings. read more about it on this site http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/...n2049967.shtml im asking you guys please tell all your friends to be aware of this "new trend" and not to participate in it. if you see it happening please do SOMETHING like call the cops or if you hear people you know talking about it please tell them that its not right. btw heres a link to where you can find more info on the michael roberts case http://www.wftv.com/news/6883710/detail.html if you have myspace please add this profile to your friendslist and spread the word thank you =] click*

Bum fighting is either teenagers get a couple of bums to fight each other or the teenagers themselves fight the bums. Neither is good, but I never heard of any deaths in them. But if it has gone to bum hunting, that's just horrible. Teenagers are getting worse and worse. I did see this one clip of Dr. Phil about bum fighting. Dr. Phil invited to the creator of the bum fights dvd (yes, there are dvds of this that you can buy...). I think he was the first guest on the show. Dr. Phil was showing a portion of the dvd and he stopped the producers from showing anymore. He then explained how disgusted he was from what he saw and what was wrong with it, the idea, and the guy himself. Then he kicked him off the show before even letting the guy talk. The guy was shocked and the crowd was loving that Dr. Phil kicked him out. Serves him right. I'll try to find that clip because I thought it was one of the greatest things Dr. Phil ever did on his show. And because stuff like this shouldn't be happening.

Ugh they deserve more than just 35 years! they should be in for two life sentences. then every 10 years have a group of homeless people kick their asses.

Sure, there are different ppl w/ different lifestyles, but that gives no one the right to abuse or degrade them down even further. How beep disgusting. This pisses me off. C_Beyond ((chunsa oppa)) Posts: 10,993 Group: Admin Member #8 Joined: June 22, 2003	hhmm...so sad... and how mindlessly evil of those guys to do that to mickey, a guy who is already down on his luck. i dont understand why they, or at least one of them didnt get life or death sentence, was it cuz they were minors? while all those years in jail is good (MORE IS BETTER), i think they should be doing community service for the rest of their lives, preferably in a soup kitchen, or homeless shelter, that sorta thing. a few years back, they showed on tv how this car full of guys went around shooting innocent bystanders with a paintball gun (not sure wut its called), and that included of course poor homeless people. and they were videotaping it all. those shot of course didnt know if it was just paintballs (which still hurt really bad), or if it was real bullets, all they knew was that they were being shot at. towards the end, they show a cop car following them lol...their punishment: having to be shot at with paintballs, so they can know the pain that they dealt on others, along with community service, i dont know about jail time tho. that dr. phil clip was cool...bum fights have been around for ages...that guy was just an a*hole, and personally, dr. phil shouldnt have given him ANY publicity...but i'm glad he got kicked off
