Posted Image Her diary is here: http://www.vietnam.ttu.edu/vietnamcenter/diary/ Valerie, there are scans of the diary, in case you want to read the original. There doesn't seem to be any charge for this. //Seoul |

Just be aware, that the US left S. Vietnam in 1975 (January). Within three years, the communists slaughtered 2.5 million Indo-chinese "peasants". This, at a time, was almost 10% of N+S Vietnam's entire population. If you're interested, read more here: http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/horowitz1.asp This is David Horowitz's column, from this week. //Seoul |

I read a couple pages from the diary, I just wasn't able to read more. The diary is filled with so much sadness.. How she constantly talks about the hardship.. But then it gets me thinking of how blessed I am to live a life without the constant fear of something happening to me.. |

Yes Jay, and ALL of it is that way. I put it up there, because it shows us a number of things. a-For all the bad things we must endure, other people have it far worse. b-What a 'low level' communist thinks, how they think, what motivates them. c-While this was on the Vietnamese Pennsinsula, the SAME thing happened, with a different outcome on the Korean Penninsula, 15 years earlier. I didn't do this to upset anyone. I just wanted to help you learn. //Seoul |

Joe, did you get a chance to read it? It took me a while. And it was really sad, but I thought I learned a lot from it. //Seoul |

I dunot know that I would use the term "chick" here. Val. This is really serious. I'm just glad someone translated it. It shows what this woman, who is about 26 in the beginning of the diary, experiences, thinks, feels. It is a very good read! //Seoul |
