K’s new single ranked 9th on Oricon Chart on the day of release in Japan
2005-05-12

Korean vocalist K(age 21, real name Kang Yoon-seong) released two singles in Japan and both of them were ranked among the top 10 of the Japanese Oricon Chart on the day of release. On May 11th, K released his second single in Japan to be ranked 9th on the Oricon Daily Single Chart. K’s success in Japan is even more highlighted as on the same day top Japanese idol stars like Kobukro and Ohotsuka released their albums, too.
K's new single, titled "Takishimetai," features the singer's tender vocals accompanied by the piano, and has drawn keen attention from the Japanese media.
Earlier, K made a successful debut in Japan in March with his single "Over…," which took the eighth spot on the prestigious Japanese Oricon Chart on the day of its release and remained in the top-10 for one month. "Over…" became even more popular after it was featured as the theme song of the Japanese television drama "H2."
K’s Korean management agency Dooristar said “Currently, a separate booth is designated for K’s albums in record shops in Japan. Thus, K is considered as one of the ‘hot J-pop musicians.’ We predict the sales of K’s second single will reach at least 700 thousand copies. With his second album, K will be able to make himself recognized as one of the major figures in the local pop music scene.”#AMR#
