Greetings, Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forums. I first noticed KMC when my housemate was watching that and Dragonball Z religiously. I didn't get hooked onto it until some time later when my wife was trying to understand some of the storylines - neither of us know any Korean or Japanese though..hehe. From there it was a pretty easy transition to watch Revolution and PopJapan TV. So now my pseudo-tivo (VCR) I have a good chunk logged for Asia Street. I'm also hoping they'll play some Chinese music videos for the younger generation in the future too. At least those I have a chance at understanding what they are saying. As for my personal info, see my web page or my master's. Angus Mac |

Hey A-M, Welcome to our group. Revolution, from time to time will put up Chinese videos. They've run Jay Chou, and Faye Wong (IIRC). There may be some others, but not a lot. I-channel does run a lot of Chinese TV, so you may find some other stuff. Anyway, WELCOME!! <edit> OMG!!!!! I went to the Silicon Valley Tech Museum improvements page. HOW TOTALLY CORRECT!! Been there done that got the T-shirt!!! "Gilroy"??? How close to the outlets? //Seoul |

Let's see: Gilroy's got some outlets but they're premium ones (i.e. fancy stores), so not much is on sale. The Vacaville ones (about 2 hours away) have good deals. |

aloha and welcome to the forums Why u guys start talking about malls? O_o Gilroy outlets is ok. i like the puma store. If you drive about 45-1hr towards san jose, you can go to the local malls there, the greatmall, eastridge mall, oakridge mall, and valley fair mall which are pretty modern w/ a variety of stores. |

Yeah, I don't know of any other outlets in that area; I guess there are plenty of malls and other stores to occupy myself. I did notice a Korean music store or two in Sunnyvale though :woohoo: |

Vacaville is very good. You mentioned that your critter is from Gilroy. The only "landmark" that I can easily name is the outlets. (I mean there's that concrete plant at Leavesley and the RR tracks, and then there's the winery up ECR... and for Gilroy there's the Auto Zone storey, and, ummmm, that's about it. ) As for the Vacaville outlets, (litterally "Cow Town") I'm really fond of the Nations hamburger joint, on the other side if I-80 from them... //Seoul |

probably the most famous trademark of Gilroy is being the Garlic capital. You can drive around and enjoy the smell. I'd take that smell over the triple threat (sewage treatment plant, garbage dump, and marshland) over by Milpitas. |

Yeah, Gilroy definately beats Milpitas. And yes! Gilroy smells of garlic most of the year. And as you drive south on 101, where 25 takes off for Holister, that great big red grain thingy. That's been there for at least 1,000 years... And my address is 22 Amnesia Lane....... //Seoul |

JiYoung, Gliroy is a small city, about 70 miles south of San Francisco, in the northmost part of the Salinas Valley. It is inland from the Pacific, by maybe 30 miles. It claims to be the "Garlic Capital of the World". And it smell it. Agriculture is it's main existence. But they have a big set of outlet malls, right on the freeway, that many Bay Area folks, visit (all too) regularly. Vacaville, is a little closer to Sacramento, than it is to San Francisco, but is about the same distance, (north-east), that Gilroy is from San Francisco. They also have outlets, that are somewhat better. Neither town has much going for it. (especially since we all agree that SHOPPING SUCKS!!)* //Seoul *I wrote a song about that, you know! |

I spent a LOT of time in Pleasant Hill, San Mateo, Fremont, and San Jose. That's why I tease Joe (Little Bunny Fubar) all about the eateries around "Mundane View", where he is. //Seoul |
