At least you can get some easy credit by taking Spanish 1 over. Gives you some slack on your other classes. I always had 3 regular/hard classes plus one easy class that I could easily pass. You ever thought about taking another language class? Here in Houston they offer Japanese, Chinese, and a mess of other languages EXCEPT Korean (!!!). It's always fun to learn something else. Although I got stupider over the years in college so I didn't attempt to learn anymore than Japanese, which I also got stupid in. Can read it (except most Kanji), but can't translate all. Can understand very little now like a few words and sentences, but could never hold a conversation. But learning a new language is always a fun adventure and a good way to meet new people in college. |

You know, Val, Arnell has a good point. Do you need Spanish for anything in particular, other than just a language class? Why not try Japanese, or Chinese (or KOREAN)? There are already a lot of folks in the states that speak Spanish. You might be worth a lot more, speaking any of these other languages... You want to come bring your imortal flying self here, and help me move this weekend?? //Seoul |

Don't feel bad. I understood ONE word out of that sentence up there! XD Of course, I've never taken Spanish, so... Anyway, at the end of college, you'll get the same piece of paper everyone else got. "You have completed college." Your employer probably won't give a darn about what level of Spanish you were in. XD I know, that's not the point. BACK ON TRACK, HERE! At least you have a class you can sleep through in case you had to pull an all-nighter, ya? XD |

but knowing how to speak spanish is an advantage for my career-to-be (pharmacist--> if i can make it there) since lots of folks speak spanish, and very few other speak other languages...then that's an advantage. cause most of them dont speak english that well. and spanish translator is a PLUS for this kind of career. though...i would love to take Chinese, Japanese, and Korean!!! ahhh.. but who here speak those languages anyways.. most of those people dont even speak their language....they all know english. yea,, i just like so many languages...its really hard for me to choose between the 4. oh..and I passed my Vietnamese placement test. although i'm not so good...I scored the highest (5) which i dont need to take the class. lol...however, if i go back to Vietnam, they would say that my level of vietnamese is pretty poor (comparable to elementary vietnamese) their expectations are much higher
no need! i'll just use my Telekenisous power to move ur furniture |

I dunno, Val. There are LOTS of folks who speak Spanish. It sort of depends on where you are aiming to live when you finish school. (BTW There are no "IT"s as to your finishing, You will do very very well!!) Here in Las Vegas, there are about 20,000 Koreans. If you spoke Korean, and were a Pharmacist you would have a job in maybe fifteen seconds. Thanks for your '"Thoughts""!! Trade languages with Angelo, just beware of those "Angel Hugs".....(LOL!!) //Seoul |

ha ha ha, living in Cali, learning Spanish would have been very practical, so of course I opted to study Mandarin. Oh well, that was years ago and it's almost all gone now. I just remember a few words and phrases. But at least I can pronounce peoples names correctly. |
