"A Break" - For some time, the two have gone through some rough times in their relationship. Both have heavy schedules that each have known of, but have tried to keep their relationship intact. Times have taken their toll for Arnell and HeeJin, but they try to keep things going fine. Finally, the two have gotten decent breaks in their work schedules to spend time together. We join the couple over at HeeJin's home. HeeJin: C'mon...we haven't sung together in such a long time. Arnell: I know, I know. We've both been very busy. HeeJin: Well, c'mon. We finally have some time tonight. No schedule. Arnell: Sweetheart... HeeJin: Get up. Take this. - She pulls him up and hands him a microphone. She turns on the t.v. and karaoke system. HeeJin: What do you want to sing? Pick, pick. Arnell: Hmm...I don't know...up beat or slow? HeeJin: Up beat to start. That way we can get into it. Arnell: Number seven. HeeJin: No, number eleven. Arnell: I thought I was picking. HeeJin: You did. Arnell: And now you're negating my selection? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of you asking me to pick in the first place? HeeJin: Well, I was gonna pick what you wanted later to make you feel better. Arnell: Oh... HeeJin: Never mind that now. Arnell: I'm sorry. Go ahead and pick then, Sweetheart. HeeJin: No, forget it. - She throws the microphone to the couch. Arnell goes over and selects an up beat song. He starts dancing for her as the intro plays. HeeJin smiles and picks up the mic. HeeJin: I don't like this song. - Arnell stops and turns off the karaoke system. HeeJin: Well, you didn't need to turn it off. Arnell: You really don't seem like you want to do it anymore. HeeJin: The mood is gone. Arnell: You have got to be kidding me. HeeJin: Besides, your dancing wasn't good. Arnell: What?! My dancing was good. HeeJin: Sure... - Arnell turns on the system. He puts down the mic and dances again with the new up beat song selected. After a minute, HeeJin goes over and stops the song. Arnell: Now what?! HeeJin: You can do better than that. Arnell: I know I can, but I'm just trying to get you in the mood. HeeJin: You should do your best then. Arnell: I don't see you doing anything. HeeJin: Sit down. I'll show you how you should be dancing. Arnell: Sure, sure... - Arnell sits as HeeJin starts up another dance song. She starts dancing to it. After a few seconds, Arnell stops the song. Arnell: Wait, wait, wait. This is one you actually perform. That doesn't count. HeeJin: That's what I wanted you to do. Arnell: What's wrong with freestyle? HeeJin: Nothing wrong with it. Just that I thought we could give each other little private performances. Arnell: Oh...you should've just said that earlier. HeeJin: Someone's a bit slow. Arnell: No. Someone's not clear on what SHE wants the other person to do. HeeJin: Well, I think that by now you would know what to expect from me. We've been going out for almost or close to half a year now. Arnell: It's seven months. More than half a year. HeeJin: I know that. - She turns away from him. He sighs. Arnell: Can we not argue, please? We get mad and frustrated enough when we can't see each other. Let's not ruin this free time we have with each other. - She doesn't respond. Arnell goes over and puts on a slow song. He lets the song go on with neither of them singing. He sits back down on the couch while tossing the microphone from one hand to another to keep busy. A little bit into the song, HeeJin takes the mic from Arnell. A tear rolls down HeeJin's cheek as she clutches her boyfriend's hand tightly. They end up sharing a nice long hug both knowing of what lies ahead in their relationship. |

"Story of A Chance" - Backstage at a concert... HeeJin: I'm really nervous... Arnell: Don't be. HeeJin: I'm trying not to be, but this is our first time doing a show alone. At least when the other girls are with me, there's more to focus on. This time, it's just you and me. Arnell: It won't be that much different than performing with the others. You'll do great. HeeJin: Easy for you to say. You've done solo and group work before. You still do. Arnell: Well, then don't you think that I would do this with you just as good? HeeJin: ...yeah... - He kisses her. Arnell: We still have about one hour left before we go on stage. Relax. HeeJin: Okay. - She hugs him tight. HeeJin: Come here. - She leads him to a couch. They both sit. HeeJin rests her head on Arnell's shoulder. HeeJin: The last time I was this nervous was the first time I performed with the others after you and I got together. Arnell: Why were you nervous? HeeJin: Why do you think? Arnell: I'll probably guess wrong, so just tell me. - She kisses him on the cheek. Then she puts her arms around him. HeeJin: Because you were there in the front row and I knew you would be watching me more. Arnell: I always watched you more than the others when I was just a fan, Sweetheart. HeeJin: Yeah, but when I knew for sure that you were looking at me most the time, that made me want to do my best for you. That made me nervous. Arnell: Aww... - He rubs her hand. She holds his hand tight after a while. She kisses his hand. Arnell: You want to know how nervous I was meeting you for the first time? HeeJin: You mean when we got to take you on t.v. That one time in China? Arnell: Well, I was nervous then, too, and that was one of the things I got to do with you for winning the contest. HeeJin: Oh, yeah. The contest. Arnell: Yeah, that. HeeJin: You mean when we all ate dinner the night after the contest you won? Arnell: Yes, the dinner. They made me sit next to you because they asked who was my favorite. HeeJin: Oh... Arnell: I was very nervous. I didn't want to do anything stupid. HeeJin: Well, you were messing around with the rest of us. Arnell: Yeah, it made me feel good to kind of be myself. HeeJin: You were very funny. I laughed a lot. Arnell: Making you laugh made me feel the best. You understood my humor. The others did, too, but you laughed the loudest. HeeJin: Hehe, yeah. I like it when you make me laugh. Makes me forget some of my troubles. Arnell: I kind of prepared what I wanted to say because I knew if I didn't that I wouldn't say anything. HeeJin: Well, you did get to ask us questions. I could tell how shy you were whenever you asked me something. You kept smiling. It was very cute. - She smiles and giggles. Arnell: Like I said, I was nervous. I couldn't hide it. HeeJin: Did you have the intention to make a move on me? Arnell: Yeah, I did. I figured I might as well try. How many opportunities like this would I get? HeeJin: I'm glad you did. Arnell: Me, too. - They kiss. Arnell: Even if it didn't work the first time, I would've tried again. HeeJin: Oh, when? In China? Arnell: After China. I was going to be in Korea for about two more weeks. I planned to ask the company if I could work with BabyVoX for a while exclusively. HeeJin: Yeah, but they had plans for that anyways when we came back. Arnell: I know. Weird. Anyways, I was going to use any extra time I had to try and do stuff with you. HeeJin: Oh...your plan failed. Arnell: Sure did. We had to get together earlier. Darn it... - She laughs and playfully hits him. Arnell: I guess eventually we would've hooked up. HeeJin: Good. Arnell: Good. -...- HeeJin: Did you always like me the best out of the group? Arnell: Yeah. I remember why, too. It was because during the Baeshin video you bite your lip. Very cute. From then on, it was always you at number one for me. - He turns his head to look at her biting her lip. He laughs and kisses her nose. Arnell: And I like the mole on your nose. Also your dimples. HeeJin: Hehe. Thanks. I like your overall cuteness. Arnell: Yeah? HeeJin: You're just plain cute. I never knew anyone like you before. All other guys here are into themselves so much or were just jerks who were bad. Don't like them. Arnell: Oh...so you liked me because I was different? HeeJin: Yes. -...- Arnell: You think it would be different if we met in America instead? HeeJin: Probably. For one thing, we probably wouldn't be together right now. I've only been to America a few times. Arnell: That's true, but we'll be there soon. HeeJin: I know. This coming holiday. I am really excited. I finally get to see your home and family. Arnell: It will be fun. I don't have anything big planned except spending time with family, but we can do whatever you want to do. HeeJin: "Don't have anything big planned,” ? I don't believe you. Arnell: You don't? Why not? HeeJin: I know how you are. You've surprised me enough times already for me to know you've got something big and nice and wonderful and sweet planned out already. And if not anything big, I know you have at least a gift for me that is just as good. Arnell: Hmm...you're smart. HeeJin: And now that I've said something about it, you're probably going to change it up. Arnell: Mm, anything else? - She looks into his eyes. HeeJin: Well... Arnell: Well..? HeeJin: You're either going to hold it off for later or do it sooner. Arnell: Umm, that's the obvious. Why don't you pick one? HeeJin: Because you'll do the opposite. Arnell: Will I? HeeJin: More than likely. Otherwise I'd be telling you how to do your surprise. Arnell: Just pick one. HeeJin: ...sooner. Arnell: Sooner it is then. HeeJin: Yeah... - A stage crewmember comes in to the room. Crew: Time to get ready. HeeJin: Thank you. - The crewmember leaves. HeeJin and Arnell get up and hug. Arnell: Ready? HeeJin: Yes. - She kisses him. They walk out hand-in-hand. -...- - At the end of the concert, the two are thanking the crowd. HeeJin: Thank you, everyone! Bye! Arnell: Wait, wait, wait. Before we go, I have one last thing to do for the audience to see. - He takes HeeJin to the center of the stage. Arnell: I'll make this short and to the point. HeeJin... - He gets down on one knee. HeeJin gasps in surprise as Arnell takes out a ring. The crowd cheers wildly. Arnell: I love you. Will you marry me? HeeJin: Yes, of course. I love you, Arnell. - He puts the ring on her finger and stands up. They kiss and hug. The crowd cheers. Arnell (W): Surprise. HeeJin (W): I love you, Oppa. Arnell (W): I love you, too. |

"Valentine" - The day before Valentine's Day. Within a life of twenty years, Arnell never really had a good Valentine's Day or someone to share it with. He thought this would be different this time with his new fiancé, HeeJin. He had it all planned out days in advance. Although he was a bit hesitant to plan anything out and thought maybe to play it by ear. The reason being that when he usually plans something like this ahead of time, something will come along and just ruin it or prevent it from happening. Knowing this, he takes the risk anyways. Arnell: This has to work out. - He had it planned out. He had bought gifts a few days beforehand; two small boxes of chocolate, a box of cookies, a funny card, and a glass rose. He also knew that he had to be in class the day of Valentine's, so he worked around it. It was simple, since HeeJin would be busy during the time of his classes, things would run smoothly. Just go to class and bring the presents with him so that afterwards he can just go pick up HeeJin and they can spend the day together. They would do whatever HeeJin would've wanted to do whether it was go shopping or see a movie, anything she wanted just as long as they had the day together. Knowing of what he was going to do, Arnell goes to sleep the night before thinking nothing can go wrong. The next day, he carries out his plan, eagerly waiting for his classes to be over. When that time finally came, he calls HeeJin to make sure if she's free from her duties. No answer. Soon after, he receives a call from his manager, but decides not to pick up. He had spoken with his manager ahead of time to not have him or HeeJin work that day for obvious reasons. He lets it ring on and decides to just go to HeeJin's home since she would normally be there at this time. During the drive, he gets 3 more calls from his manager, which he continues to ignore. He didn't want anything to get in the way right, not on this day. He finally gets to HeeJin's home with gifts in hand. He calls her cell phone and the home phone to make sure she's home instead of just barging in unexpectedly with his key to the house. No one picks up on either of them. He gives in and enters the home and checks around. No sign of her. He ends in her bedroom and plops down on the bed in disappointment. Again his manager calls and this time he picks up. Arnell: Yes..? Manager: Where have you been? I've been trying to reach you for close to an hour now. Arnell: I didn't feel like answering. Manager: Did you hear the voice messages I left for you? Arnell: No. Manager: ...I wish you had... Arnell: But i already told you before that I didn't want to work today. Manager: That's not why I called. It was kind of urgent concerning HeeJin. Arnell: Did something happen? Manager: Listen. You know how our schedules are hard to get out of and how the company is pretty strict about it. Anyways, the girls were called out to do an important promotional interview over in China again. We all knew that you had something planned for HeeJin, so we tried to get her out of it for you. The higher-ups wouldn't allow us to just send a few. They wanted all of them. We tried so hard and fought hard for you, but they disregarded everything and wouldn't listen. So they had to go, but I called you trying to tell you about it and how I was trying to get a flight for you to be able to go there with them, but you wouldn't answer. I wish you had because there was one available flight for you to go on today, but it's already gone. The rest of the flights are booked and we can't send you out there to be with her. Arnell: ... Manager: I'm really sorry about all this... Arnell: ...yeah, so am I. Manager: Listen, I know you must not be feeling well right now about this, but if you don't want something to take your mind off of this, there is that SM Valentine's Concert later today. We can still put you in it and it might help you feel better, but I can completely understand if you don't want to. I'm just saying you can if it helps you not think about it and maybe it will cheer you up some. Arnell: ...I can do it. It's not a problem... Manager: Oh, all right, but if you really don't feel up to it, I'll understand if you decide to pull out in the last minute. Arnell: I'll be there. Don't worry. Manager: All right. I'll see you there then, okay? And I'm sorry about what has gone on, Arnell. Arnell: Thanks. I'll see you when I get there. Bye. - He hangs up the phone and just lies there. He takes one of the boxes of chocolates and begins to eat them. Arnell: ...these are good...wish you could taste them, Sweetheart... |

"Birthday" Part 1 - February 21st. Arnell: Okay. Open your eyes. - HeeJin, who is being lead by the hand, opens her eyes. Standing in front of her is a lit up pillar with a button on it. She looks to Arnell who signals her to push the button. As she walks toward the button, she looks around in the surrounding darkness anticipating what surprise is awaiting her. A bright smile forms on her face as she stands in front of the button. Arnell: Wait. - She turns her head. Arnell: Stand on the other side of it so I can see your face when you push the button. - She quickly moves to the other side. HeeJin: Okay. Anything else? Arnell: Let me take a picture first. - He reaches into a blue duffel bag. Arnell: Oops. Wrong one. - He reaches into a white duffel bag next and pulls out the camera. Arnell: Ready? - She poses with her hands behind her back, her eyes closed, and her lips puckered up. He takes the picture and puts the camera away. Arnell: By the way, Sweetheart, I set up a few video cameras around to film what we do here so we can watch it later. HeeJin: I know where we are, Oppa. Arnell: That's okay. It's pretty obvious that we're at the amusement park, but that won't spoil the fun. - She looks around into the darkness. As she does that, Arnell quickly grabs something from the other duffel bag and holds it behind his back. HeeJin: It would be fun to go on the rides by ourselves. - HeeJin notices a green duffel bag next to the pillar. HeeJin: Oh. How did I miss this? For me? Arnell: That's for you to open after you push the button. HeeJin: Can I push it now? - He nods. She jumps up happily and pushes the button. The amusement park starts to light up around her in a circular motion. She turns with it as the lights turn on. HeeJin: Wow... - As she completes the full circle of lights with a smile on her face, she looks back at Arnell and immediately gets hit with a water balloon. Arnell: Saengirul chukkahamnida. (Happy birthday) - HeeJin stands still as the water drips off her. She wipes the water from her face and looks at Arnell who is carrying the blue duffel bag and another water balloon in his hand. She then looks down and picks up the green duffel bag and looks in it to find it filled with water balloons. She giggles quietly then glares down at her boyfriend. HeeJin: OPPA! - The water balloon fight begins. HeeJin gives chase. Arnell, knowing where he wants to end up, leads HeeJin throughout the park ducking corners and passing rides while occasionally stopping to have a small exchange of water balloons. The chase ends at an open grass area next to a fountain. Both are wet and giggling as they continue throwing water balloons at each other. HeeJin: I'm out! Arnell: Haha. Already? - *splash* She giggles. HeeJin: Now I am. Arnell: I am, too. Haha. HeeJin: Oh...that was fun. I didn't expect getting hit that first time. Arnell: Yeah. I was thinking that you might get mad. HeeJin: It was surprising. Come here. - They walk up and hug each other. *splash, splash* They laugh. HeeJin: I guess we both still had one left. Arnell: I can't believe you were thinking of the same thing I was. HeeJin: Shut up and keep hugging me. - They continue hugging. HeeJin giggles. HeeJin: This sure is one wet hug. Hehe. - Arnell looks at one of the parks' clocks. 12:29. Arnell: Wait for a minute. - ...12:30. The sprinklers turn on. HeeJin screams in surprise. She slaps Arnell on the chest then takes his hand and runs out of the sprinklers. She sits down on the sidewalk and starts laughing. HeeJin: This is so fun, haha. Arnell: And it's only been thirty minutes. HeeJin: Really? Wow... Arnell: Only twenty-three hours and thirty minutes left. HeeJin: What's next? Arnell: Well, first we change out of these wet clothes. - HeeJin throws her light blue shirt at Arnell. He raises an eyebrow as HeeJin innocently stands with a smile. HeeJin: I wouldn't do that if anyone else was here. Arnell: I hope so. - She giggles. Arnell: Well, you're wearing a sports bra so it's not so bad. - HeeJin teases him by grabbing her sports bra as if she were to remove it. Arnell stops her, takes her by the hand, and the two start walking back. Arnell: Like you really would've done that. - He picks up the two duffel bags with his free hand. He puts HeeJin's shirt in the green one. HeeJin: You didn't give me the chance. You missed out. Besides, it's my birthday and I can do whatever. Arnell: And you're older. HeeJin: And I'm older. Mm-hmm. - They walk back to where they started. HeeJin: I thought we were farther away from here. Arnell: Nah. I just made us run around the same places a bunch of times. - He puts down the two duffel bags and picks up the white one they left. He pulls out a set of clothes and hands them to HeeJin. Arnell: Go change. After that, meet me in front of the game center. Okay? HeeJin: Okay. Kiss? Arnell: Kiss? HeeJin: Me. Arnell: You? You're all wet. I'll just see you later at the game center, Sweetheart. - He walks off with the duffle bags. HeeJin: Oppa..! - He waves back at her and continues to walk. HeeJin shakes her head and smiles as she heads into the nearby bathroom to change. She takes a look at the clothes that has a note attached to it. She reads it to herself. -...- |

Birthday" Part 2 - In front of the game center, Arnell leans against a rail awaiting HeeJin. HeeJin: Oppa! - He turns to see HeeJin approach wearing a lovely white dress reminiscent of Rinoa's ballroom dress from Final Fantasy VIII. Both walk toward each other. HeeJin gasps and covers her mouth as she realizes Arnell is dressed in Squall's ballroom suit from Final Fantasy VIII. Arnell: Wow... HeeJin: You look very handsome. - They hug. HeeJin: But how did..? Arnell: Hold on, Sweetheart. - Just then, a horse and carriage come by. The carriage stops in front of them and the driver greets them. Arnell helps HeeJin in and gets in after. Arnell: You know where to go. - The driver gives a friendly peace sign to the couple and starts to make his way. Arnell: Now, what were you going to say before this nice interruption? HeeJin: The clothes. Where did you find them? I love it. Arnell: Actually, the clothes aren't from me. HeeJin: They're not? Arnell: Yours and mine are from the girls. HeeJin: Oh. Okay. Now the card makes more sense. Well, it made sense, but...never mind. I wondered why the card was from them. Arnell: What did yours say? They told me to be good and have fun and hope everything goes all right. HeeJin: They said how they hope I have a good time and how lucky I am to be with you. They said a few other things, but that's between them and me. Arnell: Oh...that's okay. They did know about today though. How I wanted to spend the whole day together with you. I guess they did want to be part of today somehow. HeeJin: Well, I spent most of yesterday with them since you had to "work". Hehe. Arnell: Why did you say it like that? HeeJin: You think that I would believe you didn't spend yesterday making sure all this that you've done, and I'm sure there's more since we've only started, that all this was set up all ready and perfect. This was where you were for "work". Arnell: It's like you have me all figured out. HeeJin: I do. You think that after a year of being together and being engaged, see the ring, that I don't know my Oppa? Who are you engaged to? Arnell: Who? You? - She takes a look at her engagement ring and holds it up for Arnell to see. HeeJin: I guess so. - She kisses him on his cheek and holds his hand as they continue the ride. They pass by many types of rides and lights as they continue enjoying the ride while occasionally pointing things out and commenting on them. They come across a small roller coaster that pulls to a stop. The middle seat cars spell out "HeeJin" and the back seat car has a picture of her on the side. HeeJin looks at it and shakes her head with a smile. Arnell: Too much? HeeJin: A little, but that's okay. I know you like to do big things like this. Arnell: Just to let you know, I was going to do more big things, but I thought it was over the top. HeeJin: Like what? Arnell: More stuff like the roller coaster, but on almost every ride. HeeJin: Every ride?! That would be a lot. Arnell: That's why I didn't end up doing it. HeeJin: Well, how many did you do? Arnell: One more ride. It's not too big, but it's something. - They pass by a clock, which he glances at. 1:56. Arnell: After that, we go back home. HeeJin: Your home or mine? Arnell: Mine. - The ride continues until they reach the ferris wheel. They get out and wave "bye" to the driver as he goes off. The couple gets into one of the ferris wheel baskets. The wheel starts up. HeeJin: Hey, I just noticed that things are timed very well and things are going off with no problem. Arnell: Access to master controls. HeeJin: Oh. That's an easy explanation. Arnell: How many times do you want to go around? HeeJin: Once. The stop it at the top if you can. Arnell: All right. - They make a complete circle once, checking out the view as it goes. They stop at the top the second time around thanks to the "master controls". HeeJin: Wow...we're really high. - She looks to the side at the moon. She pats her boyfriend so that he looks at it as well. Arnell kisses her on the cheek. Arnell: There's the kiss I owe you from earlier. - She smiles and they hold each other in the moonlight. After awhile... HeeJin: How long can we stay here? Arnell: If we wanted to, 6AM. HeeJin: Oh... Arnell: Whenever you want to go, we'll go. HeeJin: ...you know what I was thinking of? That time we had that small break from each other. Arnell: Why are you thinking about that? HeeJin: No particular reason. Just letting my mind wander. Arnell: Oh... HeeJin: ...we never talked about it... Arnell: ...you actually want to? HeeJin: Aren't you somewhat curious what I did those couple weeks? Arnell: A little...I just assumed you worked a lot more than usual. HeeJin: For the most part.. Arnell: Before we continue, you do know that most likely this will end bad. HeeJin: Why do you say that? Arnell: Because when we get to what I did, I won't be able to lie about it. HeeJin: Oh...you shouldn't have said that. Now I really want to know. "Birthday" Part 3 - 6:19AM. HeeJin is curled up sleeping in bed. Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Arnell is eating fried rice by himself. He lets out a big sigh and reaches for a nearby phone. He hesitantly dials a number and waits for an answer on the other end. (???): ...yoboseyo... Arnell: Hi. Did I wake you? Sorry. (???): Arnell? Mm...it's 6:20... Arnell: I'm sorry. (???): ...it's okay, I guess. What's up? Arnell: Uh... (???): Are you still with HeeJin? You two aren't still awake, are you? Arnell: No, just me... (???): Did you just finish your late late dinner? How was it? What did you make her? Arnell: ...WE didn't have dinner. I'm eating it by myself now. - He takes a bite. (???): Mm? What do you mean? Arnell: ...she knows... (???): What?! Arnell: She knows. HeeJin knows. (???): Why did you tell her on this day of all days? Arnell: It came up. She wanted to know and you know I can't lie to HeeJin. (???): She was thinking about what you did during that time? I'm surprised you didn't tell her earlier. Arnell: You didn't tell her earlier either. You're the other part of this. (???): Oh, my gosh...umm...well, what exactly did you tell her? Arnell: Uh, basically how when she was gone, you and I got together. (???): That would be enough to crush her already. Any specifics? Arnell: I asked if she wanted to know, she just nodded. I asked if she wanted me to keep going, she just nodded. I asked if I should stop talking about it, she shook her head. (???): HeeJin probably wanted to know everything. I don't blame her. Arnell: As far as specifics go...*sigh*...the kissing, the time we spent together, the "fun" we had... (???): The nights..? Arnell: The nights. (???): You didn't say how far we went, did you? Arnell: No, no. As truthful as I wanted to be, I couldn't help but hold some back. (???): That's probably for the better then. I'm guessing she was quiet the whole time. Arnell: Yeah, until I was done. She wanted to go home afterwards. I asked her in the car if she wanted to go back to her place or mine and said how I had that dinner set up at my place if she was hungry. She just said "yours" and that was all. We didn't talk the whole way back. When we got here, she changed and went straight to bed. (???): Oh... Arnell: I changed and went to bed with her. She was fast asleep, or seemed that way. I couldn't fall asleep. Kept thinking what she might be thinking. So, I stayed up and that brings us to now. (???): Arnell...what are you going to do? What are WE going to do? Arnell: We? (???): HeeJin's obviously mad at me, too. I have to do my part to make her feel better and to set things straight. Arnell: Yeah, you're right. (???): Any ideas? Arnell: Nothing yet. Lack of sleep. Can't think right now... (???): Mm...go sleep. Arnell: I can't. It's hard with her here and not knowing what she's thinking. (???): Then...what? Arnell: Umm... (???): ...no...that will make things worse. Arnell: Well, we still need to talk about what to do. Plus, who else am I going to talk to about this? I don't want to get more people involved in this. It might not be the best thing to do, but I don't know to do right now. (???): Uh...fine. Are you going to come over now? Arnell: Give me half an hour. (???): Okay. I'll be waiting. Bye, Arnell. Arnell: Bye. - He hangs up the phone. After finishing the last few bites of fried rice, he puts the dish in the sink and heads to the refrigerator. He pulls out a small cake with HeeJin's name on it. The cake is placed on the table. In the bedroom, Arnell gathers a few things and places them in the green duffel bag. He puts on a jacket and puts the bag over his shoulder. Before he leaves the room, he looks back at who he hopes will still be his fiancé before the day is over. Arnell: I’m sorry. - He walks back and kisses her on the top of her head. -...- - Arnell pulls in. He rings the doorbell. ???: It's open. - Arnell lets himself in. He looks around as he closes the door behind him Arnell: Where are you? ???: My room. I took a short nap while waiting. Arnell: Oh... ???: I set up the guest room for you. If you want to talk a little before you sleep, we can talk through the wall window. - Arnell makes his way over to the guest room. He puts the duffel bag next to the bed. He looks over at the open wall window. Tired, he plops himself on to the bed. Arnell: ... ???: Did you do anything before you left? Arnell: Left her a small cake I made... ???: That's nice. Arnell: ...that we were to eat in the morning together. ???: Oh. Sorry. Arnell: That's okay. ???: I guess you have to change a lot of your plans for today. Arnell: That is true. Twenty-four hours together...lasted about six. ???: Do you plan to see her? Well, I know you do, but when? Arnell: I left a note for her asking to meet around 2PM. 2PM at the city arena. That's where we would have gone if things were going all right. ???: That's almost seven hours from now. You better get some sleep beforehand. Arnell: You're right. ???: We'll talk more when you wake up. Arnell: Okay. Good night. ???: Good morning, Arnell. I'm going to go eat breakfast. Sleep well. -...- |

Birthday" Part 4 - HeeJin lies in bed with her eyes open. Her teary vision barely makes out the time, 9:02. The tears continue to flow as she remembers what Arnell said that night. HeeJin: ... - She sniffs and wipes her tears. More tears flow as she remains in bed, curled up and hugging her pillow tight. She looks to the right of the clock at a picture of her and Arnell holding hands on stage. Her cell phone rings, but she doesn't move. The ringing stops. The house phone rings this time. Still, she remains in bed. The answering machine answers. (Arnell): Hi. I'm not here. Just leave a message. - *beep* (EunJin): Hi, Arnell. I assume you and HeeJin are either still sleeping or are already out. HeeJin, I just want to say saengirul chukkahamnida. If you have any free time away from your fiancé, the rest of us would like to spend a little time with you. Okay? Bye-bye. - *beep* HeeJin: ... - She takes her cell phone, which is nearby, and checks who called last. EunJin. She sighs and calls her back. (EunJin): Saengirul chukkahamnida! HeeJin: Komapsumnida... (Thank you) (EunJin): I see you got my message. Good. Busy? Hmm? HeeJin: ...no. (EunJin): Can you do anything with us? Or does Arnell have plans to do stuff now? HeeJin: ...I'm free. (EunJin): Great! I'll call the others and we'll come over soon. Okay? HeeJin: ...bye. - She hangs up the phone. She puts it down and sits up in bed while still holding the pillow tightly. Looking around, not really sure what to be looking for, HeeJin brushes her hair with her hand. She places her face into the pillow. -...- - *ding dong* EunJin stands outside Arnell's house. She waits...then rings the doorbell again. EunJin: HeeJin! Arnell! You better open up. - She waits for another minute before HeeJin opens the door. EunJin: Hey...huh..? HeeJin: ... - EunJin looks at HeeJin, who is still wrapped up in her blanket. Tears roll down. EunJin: HeeJin...are you okay? - HeeJin walks back into the house. EunJin: HeeJin. - EunHye pulls into the house next. EunJin goes to greet her. EunJin: Hey. I think something's wrong with HeeJin. EunHye: Really? What? EunJin: I don't know. C'mon. - Both girls enter the house and make their way to the room HeeJin's in. They find her lying in the bed face down, quietly sobbing. EunJin: Hey, what's wrong? EunHye: Tell us, HeeJin. - HeeJin turns face up. She explains what happened to both girls. EunHye gasps. EunHye: Oh...my...gosh... EunJin: HeeJin...I'm so sorry... EiJi: Me, too. - EiJi walks in. EiJi: The door was left open and I listened from outside the room. - She hugs HeeJin. The rest join in for a group hug. HeeJin: Komapsumnida... EiJi: So what are you going to do about this? HeeJin: I don't know, yet. What would you do if you were me? EunHye: Oh, I really wouldn't know what to do. EunJin: I'd probably ask us what to do also. HeeJin: What about you, EiJi? EiJi: Did you eat? - HeeJin shakes her head. EiJi takes her by the hand and leads her to the kitchen while the other two follow. They look at the small cake on the table. EunHye: Ah, that's cute. - HeeJin cracks a small smile. They all sit down. EunJin pushes the cake toward HeeJin. EunJin: It looks delicious. - HeeJin slowly begins to eat the cake. HeeJin: Mmm... EiJi: I guess since you didn't know there was cake, then you didn't see the note Arnell left. - She hands the note to HeeJin. She reads. EiJi: What does it say? HeeJin: City arena...2PM... EiJi: You going to go? HeeJin: Of course. I can't avoid this. EunJin: But what are you going to do? HeeJin: ...I don't know. I'll find out when it happens. - She finishes the cake. HeeJin: Thanks for being here, everyone. Could you stay here with me until I go see Arnell? EiJi: Of course, HeeJin. HeeJin: Komapsumnida. - All hold hands in a circle. EunJin: Actually, all of us aren't here. EunHye: Yeah, where is MiYoun? EunJin: I tried calling her many times. Wouldn't pick up. EunHye: Same for me. EiJi: I'll try calling her now. - EiJi dials on her cell phone. EunHye: You think she's still sleeping? EunJin: Maybe, but I would think the ringing would wake her up. EunHye: She could have put it on "silent". EunJin: Might have. - EiJi hangs up the phone. EiJi: Won't answer. I left a message though. EunJin: MiYoun will call back sometime. HeeJin: ... -...- |

"Birthday" Part 5 - 12:59. Arnell is getting changed in the bathroom; slacks, dress shoes, dark read dress shirt tucked in but not buttoned up, sleeves rolled up, and a white undershirt. He makes his way to the living room. ???: Did you want to eat before you go? Arnell: No, that's okay. ???: Oh, alright. - She checks out Arnell's outfit as he puts on his necklace. ???: Your favorite outfit? - He nods. ???: Her's? Arnell: Yeah. It's what I wore on our first date. - They sit down on the couch. ???: When are you going? Arnell: Half an hour. The city arena isn't far away. ???: ... - Arnell looks to see her sad face. Arnell: What's wrong? ???: She called. Arnell: Oh. When? ???: A few times this past hour. I didn't answer. Arnell: Why not? ???: What am I going to say to her? "I'm sorry"? I am sorry, but that won't be enough. What can the girl who tried to steal away someone else's true love say to make everything better? Nothing, nothing at all. Arnell: I thought we talked about this when I woke up. You said that you're fine with everything and that you will do anything right now to make things better. ???: I know what I said and I meant it. It's just that...I feel horrible for what I did. Makes me wish that I wasn't so selfish. Arnell: So...you regret what we did? ???: No, I don't regret it. It was wonderful. It may have been only for a couple of weeks, but they were the best days I've ever had. I know why HeeJin loves you as much as she does. Arnell: Mm, I see. ???: Do you regret what we did, Arnell? Arnell: ... ???: Well? Arnell: Where HeeJin is concerned, yes. - She drops her head down a little. Arnell takes her hand. Arnell: I won't lie, I enjoyed it. - She turns to Arnell and gives him a short hug. Arnell: I wouldn't have done it if I didn't like it. ???: That's nice of you to say. - She stands up and faces him. ???: Oh, but that's not what is important now. What is important is what you're going to do soon. Arnell: You're right, but just reassuring you. ???: I'll be fine. Arnell: Good. You better be, haha. ???: Hehe, shut up, hehe. Okay, so what are you going to do when you see HeeJin? Arnell: I told you earlier. ???: Doing a run-through. Arnell: Mm, fine. Well, depending on how she is, we will either talk first or east first. I'm hoping we can talk first. Whatever we don't do, we'll do next. ???: What did you originally want to do there? Arnell: Well, you know that the city arena is outside and open for the public? I wanted us to take a nice walk around and take some goofy pictures. ???: Uh-huh. Arnell: And have a picnic. The food we're getting was supposed to be delivered to us there, but I'll just pick it up now. Don't know if HeeJin feels like having any surprises. ???: I think she would still like it. Arnell: Mm, maybe. - She goes to get a drink. Arnell: Hey, can i ask you something? ???: Sure. Arnell: Uh, this is something else I wanted to do different. I need you to do something for me. ???: Anything you need. - He walks to her and whispers. ???: Why are you whispering? NO one is around to hear us. Arnell: Oh...yeah... ???: So, what do you need? Arnell: ...come with me. ???: What?! Arnell: You two need to talk anyways. Make amends. ???: I-I-I don't know... - She sits back down on the couch. Arnell stands behind her. Arnell: Listen, it's her birthday still. I don't want her to feel bad all day for her birthday. ???: But what am I going to say to HeeJin. Arnell: Anything. She'll appreciate that you'll talk to her. She might not like you being there at first, but if you talk it out, it'll be for the better for the both of you. ???: ... Arnell: Besides, she's been calling you. She probably wants to work things out. ???: Yeah, you're right... Arnell: Now, go get dressed. I'll wait for you here. ???: Alright, Arnell. - She goes to another room to change. "Birthday" Part 6 HeeJin: ...almost there... EunHye: Nervous? EiJi: Of course she is. Wouldn't you be? EunHye: I would be nervous and scared. HeeJin: That's how I feel. - All four are sitting in the car. EunJin is driving. HeeJin: Thanks for coming with me, but you don't have to stay when we get there. EunHye: We know. EiJi: We'll stay with until Arnell is there. After that we'll just hang around for a while. EunJin: You sure you're going to be okay, HeeJin? HeeJin: ...I will. It's my birthday and I don't want to go on feeling bad the whole day. I just want to enjoy being together with Arnell, even if I'm mad. This is something we can get passed. We can talk about it now or later, but we will talk about it. EiJi: I'm glad you really want to work this out with him. That's really big of you. HeeJin: I'm still mad about it. I love Arnell too much to just let him go. EunJin: So, you forgive him? HeeJin: Over time I will forgive him... EiJi: Are you sure? Not that I don't want you two to stay together. If it were me who was cheated, the relationship would be over. HeeJin: Oh... EiJi: But that's me. I know how much two love each other. You're engaged. EunJin: We're here. - They park the car and get out. A few other people are playing and hanging out around the city arena. HeeJin and the others walk all the way to the stage. EunJin hops up on stage. HeeJin sits at the edge. EunHye checks her watch. EunHye: 2:21. I'm surprised Arnell's late. That's not like him. EiJi: Neither is cheating, but he did that. - The others look at EiJi. EiJi: Sorry. I am a little pissed about what he did. I'm still surprised you're not so mad, HeeJin. HeeJin: I know what you mean. I should be... EunJin: Hey, look who's here. - They look out at the parking lot. EunHye: I guess she got your calls finally. EiJi: She never called back, but I guess she got our message to come here. MiYoun! - EiJi waves and MiYoun notices. She takes her time and joins up with them. MiYoun hugs HeeJin right away. MiYoun: I'm sorry, HeeJin. HeeJin: Mm... EunJin: Don't you feel bad? MiYoun: I do. I couldn't believe the message you left me. I'm guessing it's true. HeeJin: It is true. MiYoun: I'm so sorry. I wish I were here for you sooner. EiJi: MiYoun, where were you all this time? MiYoun: Oh, I had car troubles. I would've called back, but I was busy with my neighbor trying to fix it. EiJi: We could have picked you up. You should have called us. MiYoun: I know, I know, I know. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I wasn't thinking. HeeJin: It's okay, MiYoun. At least you're here now. MiYoun: Okay. - MiYoun looks around. MiYoun: So, where is he? EunJin: Late. Can you believe it? MiYoun: He better come soon. EunJin: Along with a big apology. EunHye: And some food wouldn't hurt. I'm hungry. EiJi: EunHye... EunHye: I'm sorry, but I am hungry. EiJi: Fine. Let's go get something to eat. We'll be back. - EiJi and EunHye leave. MiYoun rubs HeeJin's leg in assurance. EunJin points out a cute little boy being chased by a puppy. They watch others playing around outside the arena's park. An ice cream vendor comes by to sell ice cream. MiYoun buys one for herself and EunJin buys one to share with HeeJin. A couple of fans come by for autographs, which the three give graciously. EunHye and EiJi return. EunHye: We're back. Good food. EiJi: And guess what? They're here. - EunJin and MiYoun look up at EiJi. EJ+MY: They?! - EiJi nods and points out to them coming from the parking lot. HeeJin slowly stands up and looks on. As the two walk toward the five girls, EunJin holds HeeJin's hand to let her know that she's there for her. Arnell: ...here we go... ???: Nervous? Me, too. It doesn't help that all five of them are there. Arnell: I guess they all know now. - He hands over the bag of food so he can roll his sleeves down. Then he takes the food back. ???: ...I really don't think I should be here. Arnell: No. It's better this way so we can take care of all ends at once. - The girls watch on. EunJin: They sure are taking their time. EunHye: Nervous, probably. EiJi: They better be. I really feel like yelling at Arnell. EunJin: Give him a piece of your mind? Me, too. HeeJin: ...you'll get your chance. - The girls turn to her. HeeJin: I want to talk to her first...alone... EiJi: You sure? HeeJin: Yeah. I'm afraid if I talk to him now, I'll say the wrong things. MiYoun: We'll talk to him then. - They meet up. Arnell puts the food down and hugs HeeJin. She doesn't hug back. Arnell: ... HeeJin: ...hi. Arnell: You want to talk? HeeJin: ...I want to talk to her first, okay? - He nods. The girls motion for Arnell. He walks away over to them with the food to the far end of the stage. ???: Hi, HeeJin. "Birthday" Part 7 Arnell: ... - The girls corner Arnell on stage. He looks to EunJin who shakes her head. EiJi gets in his face. EiJi: Well?! Arnell: You want me to explain myself? EiJi: Yes, I do. I don't understand how you can do this to HeeJin. - She pushes Arnell back causing him to drop the food. She pushes him again. EunHye: EiJi! EunJin: You don't have to push him around. Let him talk. Give him a chance to explain. EiJi: Explain, Arnell. Explain why you would throw away the best thing you had. And for what?! A cheap fling?! How could you do that to your fiancé?! Arnell: We weren't engaged at the time. EiJi: Don't get technical with me! You know that's not what matters right now! - She pushes him again. EunJin: And you kept it a secret for so long. EiJi: Why would he tell anyone? He could just go on for months as if nothing happened at all. - She pushes him once more, but this time MiYoun stands in between them. MiYoun: Quit it, EiJi. EiJi: Don't stick up for him. What he did was wrong. MiYoun: I know... - MiYoun looks to the side. EiJi gasps. EiJi: You knew! EunHye: MiYoun, is that true? - She nods. EiJi turns away in disbelief. EunJin: But you acted like you didn't know. Arnell: She did. She kept her promise to me. EunJin: Not to tell anyone? I see. SO, why tell her and no one else? Arnell: She was around and I needed to vent. I didn't want to tell anyone else because it would obviously make things worse. MiYoun: Sorry, girls. I was just keeping my promise. EunHye: It's understandable. EiJi: Her part is understandable. Arnell still has not explained himself. Arnell: ...okay. When we were on a break, I was different. You noticed. Since we were to stay apart, I needed to hang around with someone to keep busy. And since I was doing small things with SES before they broke up, Eugene was there. It's not like I tried to purposely hang out with her only. It just ended up that way. She was going through some tough times, too. - Arnell sits down at the edge of the stage. EiJi turns her head to Arnell. Arnell: People going through tough times come together easily. EiJi: Did you like her first or did she like you? Arnell: She did. I told her "no". She kept pursuing. EunHye: Oh...that's not good. EiJi: So, Eugene kept trying even though she knew about you and HeeJin? That... Arnell: Well, I guess...I lead her on... EiJi: I can't believe this... EunJin: I don't think there's anything you can say that will make you look any better, Arnell. Arnell: Just listen to me, please. I'm not trying to look good or get out of this. I'm letting you know what happened. Just listen. - He goes on to tell his side of the story. Meanwhile, HeeJin and Eugene are talking at a gazebo. HeeJin is looking away from Eugene who has her head hanging down. HeeJin: ...anything else? Eugene: What else do you want to know? HeeJin: You have only told me things that...Arnell...has already told me. - HeeJin stands up and looks at Eugene. HeeJin: Do you still...have feelings for him? Eugene: I... HeeJin: ...I see. - Eugene walks to the other side of the gazebo and looks at where Arnell is. She sighs. Eugene: You're so lucky, HeeJin. HeeJin: Lucky? You think I feel that way right now? Eugene: I meant it regarding Arnell. He's probably the most important thing to you like you are to him. Thinking about that makes me wish that nothing ever happened with him and I. HeeJin: But something did happen. Eugene: I know. HeeJin: You know, if you knew how much in love we were, why did you keep on trying for him? Eugene: ...I wanted what you had. HeeJin: What?! Eugene: He told me about you two. Everything. The things you do together and what you do for each other...that's more than what I've got and wanted from my past relationships. HeeJin: And because we were on a break, you figured you could take a chance? Eugene: Yes...no...I, uh...honestly, I wasn't sure what the "break" meant, but yeah. I did want to take a chance. HeeJin: Well, it's nice to see how assertive you are... - She sits down and buries her face in her hands. Eugene turns around. Eugene: I weighed both sides of the whole thing. HeeJin: What made you decide to do it then? - Eugene sits next to HeeJin. Eugene: "Sometimes you have to be selfish because if you're not, you might miss out." - HeeJin slowly lifts up her head. Eugene: I know you know who says that, or something similar to that. - HeeJin looks over to Arnell. Eugene looks over as well. Then she looks over as a tear rolls down HeeJin's cheek. HeeJin closes her eyes tightly as she begins to cry. Eugene: I am so sorry, HeeJin. - HeeJin cries into her hands. Eugene puts her arm around her to comfort her. Eugene: I really don't know what else to say or do to make things better...for everyone. HeeJin: ... Eugene: What do you want me to do? Please, tell me. I don't want to see...see you cry like this. - Eugene begins to tear up. HeeJin: It's not that...it's-it's just that I don't know what to do... I don't want to let him go, but-but this is too much. I-I-I feel like screaming out loud or hitting something or running off for awhile... Eugene: Oh, HeeJin... - Eugene stands up in front of HeeJin. Eugene: If it will help, you can hit me, HeeJin. "Birthday" Part 8 - Arnell drives off. Eugene is in the passenger side and MiYoun is in the back. The awkward silence is accompanied by the street noise from outside. Eugene: ...you sure you want to leave your car there, MiYoun? MiYoun: Yeah. I'll come back for it later. - Silence... MiYoun: Besides, things got hectic there for a while. I had to leave, couldn't stand all the yelling and-and crying...and... - MiYoun starts to sob. Eugene turns around. MiYoun: ...this-this is so sad... Eugene: It's okay... MiYoun: No, it's not, Eugene! What's going to happen now? I mean...HeeJin...what did you say to her? I have never seen her so mad before. Arnell: ... MiYoun: What happened? Eugene: The last thing she said was how she didn't know what to do. She was frustrated. I guess she snapped. MiYoun: She must have. I-It's probably eating her up on the inside... - Arnell thinks back. The girls are still talking to him as he notices HeeJin coming his way. The other girls notice and move out of the way as HeeJin angrily walks over. Eugene is behind asking her to stop. HeeJin gets in Arnell's face and starts yelling. Arnell tries to get a few words in, but HeeJin keeps stopping him. She keeps yelling and starts to cry. She hangs her head down and says one more thing. A small pause. Then Arnell says something. Another pause. HeeJin slowly lifts her head as the tears continue to roll down even more than before. By this time, EunHye and EunJin have turned away. Eugene has started to cry herself. HeeJin looks at Arnell's shamed face as his tears fall. - *slap* - EunJin and EunHye turn around to see what had happened. Almost like a freeze frame, all are staying still and looking on at the aftermath of the slap. MiYoun covers her mouth as well as EunHye in shock. HeeJin says one more thing and starts to walk away. EiJi quickly follows. MiYoun checks on Arnell as EunJin follows the other two girls. EunHye hesitates who to go with, but ends up following EunJin. Eugene has fallen to her knees in disbelief. Arnell still has not moved at all, but his tears continue. MiYoun tries talking to him, but he doesn't listen. He slowly walks off with MiYoun following closely. Eugene eventually gets up and follows the two. Eugene: Are you okay, Arnell? - Back in the car... Eugene: Arnell? Arnell: Huh? Oh...yeah... MiYoun: Your cheek is still red. Arnell: ...it still hurts. - Eugene looks over at Arnell's red cheek. Then she lowers her head down. Eugene: ...now what? Arnell: ...I have no idea. It's all up to HeeJin. MiYoun: Well, you could do something still. Arnell: Anything I say or do won't change the fact that I'm wrong for what I did. What I did wont' go away. HeeJin has to decide whether or not our relationship is worth saving at this point. She knows that I do and that I will do anything to stay together. Eugene: ... Arnell: If she doesn't think it's worth saving, then...then there's nothing I can do. MiYoun: B-but...but that cant' happen, Arnell...you two are perfect for each other. I can speak for EunJin and EunHye and EiJi when I say we want you two to stay together. Arnell: EiJi sure doesn't seem that way. MiYoun: She was mad. You know how she gets. The truth is that she loves boht of you as much as the rest of us. That's why she was so mad. EiJi couldn't believe what you did... Arnell: ...she has every right to be that way. I'll talk to her some time about it. First, HeeJin. Eugene: So...you're just going to wait? Arnell: Until HeeJin wants to talk again. From there, I'll do whatever she wants. Anything. Eugene: Even if... Arnell: Even if she wants to end it. I will fight against a break up for as long as I can, but if she wants to...it's all up to her... - Meanwhile at the park, the girls are behind the stage. The others stand idly by as HeeJin continues to cry. EunHye: ...HeeJin... - She starts to cry also. EunJin holds her. EunJin: HeeJin, are you sure? Maybe you should think about it a little longer. EiJi: EunJin's right. You still need to vent a bit. That slap...wow. I never thought I would I see that. HeeJin: ... EiJi: But you do need to think on it more and still talk it over with Arnell alone. As mad as I am about everything, I don't want you two to split up. - The girls hug. EunJin: Excuse me. - EunJin breaks the hug and makes a call. HeeJin: Komapsumnida. EunHye: So, what are you going to do now? HeeJin: ...I can't just have this hanging over me. No matter what, we'll settle this before the day is over. EunHye: Are you sure? HeeJin: Yeah...delaying it would make it worse. EunJin: Good. You can do it tonight when you and Arnell have dinner together. EiJi: What are you talking about, EunJin? EunJin: I know HeeJin and Arnell well enough to know they would have ended up having dinner. So, I just called him up and set it up for you two. EunHye: Oh... EunJin: Dinner is at nine at his place. That gives you about five hours to get ready and gather your thoughts. The rest of us will set everything up; dinner and etcetera. You're welcome. HeeJin: ...ha. Komapsumnida, EunJin. EunJin: We'll take you home first to give you some alone time. We'll start everything else in the meantime. - They start walking to EunJin's car. EiJi: Well, I guess we'll be playing some part in your birthday after all. EunHye: Oh, yeah. Everything that's been happening made me forget that. HeeJin: So far, I hate being twenty-three. - They get in the car and leave. -...- |

"Birthday" Part 9 - 9:00, dinnertime. Arnell comes to the dining room dressed in a similar shirt as before, but a brighter shade of red. Everything else is the same except he buttons the shirt all the way up. EunJin is dressed in a nice blue dress. EunJin: Have a seat. - She pulls out the chair for Arnell who sits down. EiJi comes out and stands next to EunJin. She wears a nice green dress shirt with white slacks and a white vest. EiJi: All I have to say, Arnell, don't screw up. - He nods. MiYoun comes out in a yellow dress similar to EunJin's. She stands on EunJin's other side. MiYoun: The stage is set. EunJin: Great. Now we wait for EunHye to bring HeeJin here. They should be here... - *ding dong* EunJin: Now, hehe. - EunHye, who is wearing an orange outfit like EiJi, brings HeeJin into the dining room. HeeJin wears a beautiful red dress, similar to Arnell's color. He stands in front of her as EunHye stands next to MiYoun. A small pause. Finally, Arnell and HeeJin hug. Arnell: I'm glad you're here. - They both sit. EunJin: Mo mokoshipo? (Do you want something to eat?) HeeJin: Namo mokoshipo. (I'd like to eat something.) - Arnell nods as to say that he wants something as well. EunJin signals an "okay" and heads to the kitchen with EunHye. EiJi comes up with a bottled drink. EiJi: Soju masho. (Try some Soju.) Arnell: Haha. Aniyo, komapsumnida. (No, thanks.) - EiJi nods and gives the bottle of Soju to EunHye who goes to the kitchen. EiJi leaves as well, but to another room. Arnell: Igut choun. (This is nice.) HeeJin: Ne. (Yes.) - Silence... Arnell: ...mianhamnida. (I'm sorry.) - HeeJin holds her finger up to shush him. HeeJin: Let's just enjoy dinner. No troubles, no "sorries", just us in the moment. - He nods. The three girls return from the kitchen with the food and drinks. EunHye puts the drinks down. EunHye: Mul. (Water.) - MiYoun puts down some food. Then EunJin puts hers down. MiYoun: Hanguk yori wa hamke Ilbun yori. (Korean food with Japanese food.) EunJin: Jjin maada, japchae, sogogiguk, saeng sonhae, dagjjim. (Fried dim sum, mixed noodles with vegetables and beef, beef soup, raw fish, stewed chicken with sauce.) Arnell: Choatso! (I like it!) HeeJin: Wa, mashiketa! (Wow, it looks delicious!) EunHye: Aratso. (Okay.) MY+EJ: Julgida! (Enjoy!) - The girls leave the two to eat to some nice soft background music. They meet EiJi in the master bedroom. EunJin: Are they ready? - Eugene comes out of the bathroom wearing a long white sleeveless dress. Eugene: I still don't think I should be here... EunJin: It'll be okay. This will show HeeJin how much you care about all this. Like a big apology by helping them stick together. ???: Well, at least you asked me to help instead of your first choice. - Bata comes out of the bathroom next wearing a purple dress similar to Eugene's. Bada: It would have been bad to ask BoA to help out. EiJi: I'm sure she would, but HeeJin wouldn't like an ex-girlfriend of Arnell's here. Bada: Besides, she is busy along with Shoo. It would have been nice if Shoo was here with us. A small SES reunion. MiYoun: It was short notice. We're doing as much as we can. EunJin: Thanks for doing this, Eugene and Bada. Bada: Anything for those two. They are great friends. And Eugene, we will talk about what you did later. Eugene: All right... EiJi: EunHye, go out and check on them. - EunHye nods and leaves. Eugene: What song is first? EunJin: Well, last will be Nah Sarang Ee Gi Reul, Arnell's favorite. We'll do 'Cause I'm Your Girl first to lighten the mood first. I'll do Shoo's part for that. Then MiYoun will sing J's Light. Next will be A Song For A Lady. Eugene will be part of BabyVoX for that one. Bada will sing Lena Park's In Dreams after us. That's all five. Eugene: How did you come up with all this stuff so quickly, EunJin? EunJin: I don't know. My brain was just going off and knowing those two, this is something they would enjoy. - EunHye comes in quickly all giggly. EiJi: Mm? What's up? EunHye: I went to get them more water, oh my gosh, and when I came back, they were kissing. All: Mo?! (What?!) EunHye: I was shocked, too. That's what I saw. - The girls start cheering. EunJin: Well, that didn't take long. Bada: Should we still do what we were supposed to do? EunJin: Of course. For fun and to not let this fun chance go to waste. EiJi: Wait, wait. Let's not jump to conclusions about the kiss. Might have been a "goodbye" kiss. - They talk about that possible situation. Eugene: We should just do our thing as if they're still having troubles. MiYoun: Yeah. We'll watch how they act because the kiss could've meant anything. - They continue talking. Outside, the two share another kiss. HeeJin: ...I know I said we should just have dinner, but it's hard not to think about it. Arnell: Still not sure? HeeJin: Mm-hmm. Arnell: After dinner...you'll know. HeeJin: Yes, I'll make my decision by then. Arnell: ...I'm nervous about your answer. HeeJin: So am I... - They kiss again. HeeJin: Why are we kissing? Arnell: Reassurance, I guess. - The others come out and greet the two. EunJin: We have some entertainment for you. It's all for you two. All: Julgida! -...- |

"Birthday" Part 10 - After the dinner and singing, all of the girls join the couple. They talk, laugh, and eat the rest of the food. The girls watch on as HeeJin and Arnell are behaving as they normally did before earlier events of the day. HeeJin and Eugene are even playing and joking around. EiJi and Bada have a friendly argument that gets everyone laughing. They even start dancing to the nice and soft background music. EunJin takes Arnell, EiJi and Eugene, MiYoun and EunHye, and Bada with HeeJin. They switch off partners a few times ultimately ending with HeeJin and Arnell dancing alone together. The others watch on as the two dance to a couple of songs. After their last dance, they tell everyone that they're going outside for awhile. As they make their way out, the others finish off the food and start to clean up. Outside in the backyard, the two sit out on the porch swing together. They sit down for awhile gazing up at the sky. HeeJin holds Arnell's hand tightly as she hums The Boat Song for Lunar. As she hums, Arnell begins to embrace her closely. She hums the last few bars. She closes her eyes and rests peacefully in Arnell's arms. Arnell: No nemseka choa. (You smell nice.) - HeeJin giggles. HeeJin: Sarang he... (I love you...) Arnell: Sarang he. - HeeJin starts to tear up. Arnell holds her up and wipes her tears. Arnell: Ulchima... (Don't cry...) HeeJin: ...che song hamnida... (...sorry...) Arnell: ...do you still need time to think? HeeJin: Yes and no. I need more time to think about everything, but in order for me to do that...we...we need another break... - Arnell sighs and lowers his head. Arnell: Midul suga opso... (I can't believe it...) HeeJin: Chebul nachom ihe hecho. Nol onchena sarang-halkoya, ochena nosengak halke, no opshi salsun opso... (Please understand me. I will always love you, I'll always think about you, and I cant' live without you...) Arnell: But..? HeeJin: But this is very overwhelming...I need to sort out my thoughts and feelings about you. I need to know if I really do want to become your wife... - Arnell sniffs and begins to cry. HeeJin rests her forehead on his as she starts to cry also. HeeJin: This doesn't mean that I don't want to be your wife. I do. It's just...it's just that... Arnell: No, I...I understand...I just can't believe we're going on break...again...and it's because of me both times... HeeJin: No, the first time was a mutual thing. Arnell: And it's because of what I did, we're going on break again... HeeJin: But we're not breaking up...just taking time off. - She puts her hand on his cheek. HeeJin: I'll still wear my engagement ring. I won't ever take it off. I promise. - Arnell nods. Then he sighs. Arnell: ...I'm not going to try and change your mind about this...I'd rather... HeeJin: You'd rather that we just stay together. I know. Arnell: But I am confident that we will get back together with everything better. HeeJin: I can't forgive you for what you did...I won't... Arnell: That's okay...I promise I won't do it again on this break. - HeeJin laughs. She rubs Arnell's cheek. He holds her other hand. HeeJin: Hehe, you better not. I'm not letting you go so easily because I love you too much, but I'm not letting you off the hook that easily either. I'll think of something after I work through all the emotional stuff. Arnell: But I cheated on you. HeeJin: And I've told you how much I love you. We're going to work through this. I don't want to lose you and I'm sure you don't want to lose me. Arnell: I don't. HeeJin: Another reason for the break is your punishment. You'll lose me, but not completely. Arnell: But I ca... - She kisses him long. Tears roll down her face. HeeJin: Shut up. - She hugs him tightly and holds tight. He embraces back. HeeJin: ...th-this is hard enough for me to say. Please, just understand and accept it... Arnell: ... HeeJin: If w-we were to keep talking...we'll eventually s-start arguing again...and...and I just want this night to...I just want to enjoy ourselves before...before our break... Arnell: HeeJin... - She kisses him again. HeeJin: ...please... - He sighs. He looks inside the house at a clock. 11:45. Arnell: ...fifteen more minutes... HeeJin: Don't...don't look at the clock. We can lose track of time...I don't care. - She turns his face to hers and looks deep into his eyes. She closes her eyes tight as she tears up. Arnell kisses her left eye. Arnell: Angel kiss. - HeeJin smiles as she opens her eyes. HeeJin: Just like on our first date... - They continue looking into each other’s eyes. HeeJin (W): I hate you... Arnell (W): I'm so sorry... - She nods. Silence...then HeeJin pulls Arnell closer for another kiss. She then holds his hands tightly. Arnell (W): Until sunrise? - She shakes her head. She slowly turns to look at the clock inside. To get her to stop looking at the clock, Arnell quickly starts to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. She smiles and they kiss. "Confusion" Arnell: I don't know where to start... - He sits down on the couch and sighs deeply. Arnell: I mean, we're on a break...again. It's not great. We can't keep going on breaks for things. Although the reasons for us being on a break are understandable: My fault. Dang... - He looks outside a window to the sky. Arnell: I really was expecting her to end everything. No more relationship, no more friendship even. I was almost just waiting for HeeJin to give back her engagement ring...she didn't. Man, she... - He sighs. Arnell: Why didn't she? She has every reason to not be with me anymore. Especially for what I did, I wouldn't blame her to break up with me for good...but she didn't. I would have...but... - He gets up and goes to get a drink of water. Arnell: The only thing that I can think of is that she really and truly does love me. If that's the case, she's such a great person who is willing to work through anything and everything for me...for us. That's one reason why I love her. I love HeeJin so much...and yet...I did what I did... - He goes back to sit down on the couch. He takes another sip of water. Arnell: What the heck was I thinking? I love HeeJin. I know I do. I feel it in my heart...then why the he double hocky sticks did I do what I did?! I-I can't understand...maybe I'm just a jerk. I hate me for what I did. - He looks back outside. Arnell: But nothing like that will ever happen again. That I can guarantee. Eugene and I have talked things over a few times and she knows that I want things with HeeJin to work. Maybe Eugene and me could've happened another time, but it won't happen now. Not while I love HeeJin. I... - He looks forward. Arnell: What am I trying to say here? Sorry, I'm just saying anything that comes to mind. Nothing really planned. I know it sounds as if I went from one place to another, but that's how it is now. My thoughts about everything are just all over the place. I mean, I know what I can do about this right now and it's not much. This is mainly going to end up with whatever HeeJin wants to do. I can't do much except see what she wants to do with us. Whether it's good or bad, I'll have to support her decision. In the end, I want what's bet for her...even if it's a life without me. Sounds a bit extreme, but that's how I feel. - He looks to a clock and takes another sip of water. Arnell: Mm, I don't know what else to say now...well, thanks for listening. "Blind Hope" - A young girl enters a room. She goes to turn on the computer. As she waits, she looks around the room at the poster covered walls and smiles. She goes online and checks a favorites folder and goes to a site. There she goes to the forum and goes to post something. She titles the post "Important, Please read". She takes a deep breath and starts to type. Girl: "Hello. My name is Yvonne. I'm the older sister of Ken who is known here as VoX Lover. I don't usually go to this site, but I'm sure my brother won't mind me using his screen name. Anyways, I have some sad news to tell you. A few days ago, Ken was in an accident. He has been in the hospital since then and is recovering well from most of his injuries...but his minor fractures and scratches are the least of his family's worries. Ken has unfortunately gone blind..." - She sighs and continues on. Yvonne: "I'm sorry. This is very hard on all of us here. Ken felt that his online friends should know of this as well to explain his absence. We are in the process of trying to raise money for a surgery to hopefully regain his eyesight, but you have to understand our parents' concern, mainly our mother. As much as she cares for Ken, she's very scared of him going through such a process. We have been trying to let her know things will be fine, but she is very skeptical about it as would most mothers be. If she wants anything, it would have to be what's best for her baby boy. In the long run, which means for any surgery to take place, it has to be the best, which in turn is the most expensive. Not to make the issue about money, but I would love my brother to regain his eyesight as soon as possible so he can return to his normal life. Anyways, I just thought it would be proper for his friends to know what has happened. If you wish, send any emails or other words of comfort to him and I will read them to him. He tells me that his friends online are his best friends and I do not doubt that. I'll give any updates on Ken's condition, good or bad, so that you will know what's going on with him. Thank you for reading." - She posts it on the forum. She goes to turn off the computer, but stops. Instead she goes to her email account and searches though some saved addresses her brother has. She finally finds a fan address to his favorite group, BabyVoX, as well as another one. She begins to type out a lengthy email. -...- - In Korea... EunJin: Hurry, Arnell. We're running a little late. Arnell: All right, all right. Just let me check something online. EunJin: Just hurry. - Arnell quickly goes to check his email. Immediately, an email titled "Very important. Please read" catches his eyes. He opens it and begins to read. Arnell: Oh... EunJin: Arnell! Let's go! Arnell: All right. - He starts to print out the email as he ties up his hair. He takes the printed out email and joins EunJin in the car. When they finally reach the music building, the two get out and meet with the rest of the group in the lobby. EunHye: You two are late. EunJin: We know. EiJi: They've been waiting for us. Let's go. Arnell: Hold on. You girls need to read this. EiJi: What is it? - He hands over the email and the rest read on. MiYoun: Oh, my. HeeJin: That's so sad. EunJin: It really is. Manager: You want to maybe do something about it? - They turn to see Arnell's manager standing behind them. Manager: Sorry. I was just quietly reading over your shoulders. Arnell: Would it be possible for us to do anything? Manager: A free cd? EunJin: Are you serious? Manager: Sorry. The reality is that you all have very busy schedules for a while and I don't think it's possible to do a lot for the poor boy right now except send gifts. EunHye: There has to be something else we can do for him. Arnell: Do you have our schedules with you? Manager: Let me check. - His manager pulls out his laptop and does some clicking. Manager: Here are both of your schedules for the next month. MiYoun: Whoa...we're really going to be busy. EunJin: Our next break, if you want to call it that, would be the weekend at the end of the month. Arnell: Dang. EiJi: Well, Arnell, you actually have a whole week off before our so-called break. - She points it out to him. Arnell: You're right. How's that possible? Manager: Yeah. I wanted to keep it a surprise, but the company wanted to reward you with a small vacation for all you have done. Arnell: Oh...well, I know what I'm going to be doing that week then. EunHye: You're going? Arnell: Why not? If I stay here, I know I'm going to get sucked in to doing some additional work regardless if I have a week off or not. So I might as well go back to America and see this guy. HeeJin: That's very sweet of you to do. Manager: Are you sure you want to do that? I mean even though it is your time off, the higher-ups may not like how you're using a short amount of time to go off to another country. Arnell: If they don't like it, then they shouldn't give me days off. I'm going. But I know of what else to do besides that. - He begins to whisper on to the others. -...- - Back in America, Yvonne walks into Ken's hospital room. She sits next to him on his bed. Ken: Yvonne? Yvonne: Hi, Ken. - She hugs him. Ken: I'm glad you're here. How was your day? Yvonne: Just a normal day. I had a test. Ken: How did you do? Yvonne: Not too well...72. Ken: Ha! You suck. Yvonne: Shut up, Ken. Like you're any good at science. Ken: Well, I know enough not to ask you for any help on it anymore. Haha. - She playfully pushes him. Yvonne: Anyways, how was your day? Ken: Meh, same old. Listened to some music, ate, tried watching tv. Can't do that yet. I think the blindness got in the way. Yvonne: Hehe. Ken: Nothing else new with you? Yvonne: Well, actually, I have a surprise for you, Ken. Ken: Oh? What is it? Yvonne: Hold on. Let me go get it. - She walks out the room and then returns. Yvonne: Someone is here to visit you. Ken: Ooh. A lady? If not, I don't care. Yvonne: Oh, I think you'll like it. Ken, say hello to Arnell Ragasa. Ken: HA! Yeah, right. Like I'll believe that. - Arnell walks next to the bed and leans in close. Arnell: Hi, Ken. I wouldn't believe her either, so I don't blame you. Ken: Well, that's okay. Nice to meet you, whoever you are. Arnell: Well, you really should believe your sister. I am Arnell. Ken: I need proof. Tell me something. Arnell: How about this? - He sits down and starts to sing a few words from a song. Ken backs up a bit in shock. Ken: Holy crap! Either it is you or you're a really good impersonator. Yvonne, I know you don't know most of the Korean pop singers like I do. Tell me, what does he look like? Yvonne: Well, about my height, hair about shoulder length... Ken: Style? Yvonne: Short in the back, long bangs. Ken: Damn! No one else I have seen has that style. It can't be... Arnell: Believe me, Ken, it's me. Ken: OOH, DAMN! - Ken thrashes around excitedly. Ken: What the h*ll are you doing here? Arnell: Well, I got an email from your sister telling me of what happened. I had some free time in my schedule and thought to use it here. Plus, it has been awhile since I came back to the U.S. Ken: So, Yvonne got you to come here? Arnell: She did. Ken: Yvonne... - He holds out his arms. Yvonne comes closer to hug him. Ken: Thank you. Yvonne: It's no problem. Ken: Now go away so I can talk to Arnell. Yvonne: Hehe...whatever you want. I'll be outside. Ken: Go, go, go. - Yvonne leaves. Arnell: You have a great sister. Ken: I know. You should go out with her. Arnell: Huh? Ken: I'm kidding. I know that you're with HeeJin of BabyVoX. Lucky. Arnell: ...thanks, Ken. Ken: I would love to go out with any of those girls. Is EunJin single? Haha, just kidding. Arnell: Haha. - Arnell takes a look around the room. Arnell: You sure got a lot of BabyVoX posters up on your hospital walls. Ken: I do? - Ken turns his head in many directions. Ken: I don't see them. Arnell: Ha, you're a funny one. Ken: Are they really up on the walls? Arnell: Yeah. About six or seven of them. Ken: Wow, I guess Yvonne had them put up so I would see them when I get my sight back. Arnell: Oh. So what do you do here most the day? Ken: Not much. A little calligraphy and flower arranging...not easy when you can't see. Other than that, I just listen to music. My sister brought my stereo here with my cds so I can listen to them. Arnell: Oh. - Arnell walks over to the stereo and takes out the cd. Arnell: Just as I suspected, BabyVoX. Funny that you're not listening to one of my cds. Ken: I have been, but no offense, I'd rather listen to girls sing than some guy. Arnell: I don't blame you. I'd do the same. Ken: So what do you plan to do while you're here? Not spend the whole time with me, are you? Arnell: For the most of it, yeah. Then a couple of visits to nearby friends, but I planned most of my time to hang out with you. Ken: Seriously? Damn, you're the coolest! Arnell: While I'm here, why don't you tell me about yourself? It would be nice to know one of my fans personally. Ken: Oh...where to start... - The two go on talking and having fun. Arnell returns to visit everyday for that whole week. On the final day... Ken: I wonder what time he'll get here. - He lifts up his wrist and looks at his watch. Ken: ...sounds like 5:06. Meh... - Yvonne comes into the room with Arnell. Yvonne: We're here, Ken. Arnell: Yo, Ken. Ken: Cool. What are we going to do, what are we going to do? Arnell: Well, I thought that we'd spend some time enjoying this gift you got from a certain group of ladies. "Love Sick" Part One - After a small fan meeting, the group of BabyVoX and Arnell are backstage getting ready to leave. In another room, Arnell is over the sink splashing his face with water. He does it repeatedly and wipes himself off. Next, he walks over to a small cooler and takes a bottle of water. He flops down on a nearby couch and rubs the bottle all over his face stopping with the bottle on his forehead. A knock comes from the door. EunHye: Hope you're ready. We'll be waiting for you. Okay? Arnell: ...okay... - He gets up and begins to pack, slowly. He feels his forehead and continues packing. Another knock on the door and HeeJin and enters. HeeJin: Hey, you almost ready? Arnell: ...mm. - She watches as Arnell slowly moves around. HeeJin: Are...you okay? - He zips up his bag and puts it over his shoulder. He starts to make his way toward her and collapses. HeeJin catches him. HeeJin: Arnell! - She takes off his bag and rests him down on the couch. HeeJin: What's wrong? - She feels his forehead. HeeJin: You're burning up! How long have you been feeling like this? Arnell: ...a week, I guess. HeeJin: Arnell... - She picks up his bag and then helps him to his feet. HeeJin: C'mon. We're going. Arnell: Where to? HeeJin: Anywhere so you can get better. I know how you are. You wouldn't ask for help in this kind of condition, but not while I'm around. Let's go. - She puts his arm around her neck to prop him up. Arnell: HeeJin...you don't... HeeJin: I know that I don't have to, but I'm going to. You don't take care of yourself well. You know that. Did you drive here yourself? Arnell: Yes... HeeJin: Then I'll drive. - They leave. Outside the door, EiJi catches them. EiJi: Hey. Something wrong with Arnell? HeeJin: Yeah. He's not feeling too good. I'll take him home. Arnell: Hey, let me go to the bathroom first, okay? HeeJin: Oh, all right. Come back here afterwards, and then we'll leave. - Arnell goes into the nearby bathroom. EiJi: You're going to go take care of him? HeeJin: I know what you're thinking, EiJi. He needs some help right now and that's all I'm going to do. EiJi: That's what you say now, but you know something is going to happen. I mean, you two haven't been alone together for a few months now. You'll be there taking care of him and you'll start to think. HeeJin: Is there anything wrong with that? EiJi: No, but I'm just saying. I thought you still...you know... HeeJin: Yeah, I do still hate him somewhat, but I can put that aside to take care of him. It's his health now that I'm concerned about. EiJi: Yeah, you're right. Plus, he's not the best at taking care of himself. HeeJin: Hehe, see? You know that, too. EiJi: Just...just behave yourself and don't get too caught up in it. HeeJin: I know. Thanks. - Arnell returns. HeeJin quickly takes him by the arm and starts to walk off. EiJi: Take care, Arnell. Hope you feel better. - He waves back to her. The two reach the parking lot and get in the car. HeeJin drives as Arnell puts the passenger seat in full recline to lie down. Neither speak a word to each other during the whole trip. Finally, they stop. HeeJin helps Arnell out and they enter the house. She helps him to a bed and he lies down immediately. Arnell: ...not mine... HeeJin: Huh? Arnell: I thought we were going to my house. HeeJin: Oh, no. You're staying here until you get better. It's better this way so I can keep an eye on you. Arnell: Okay... HeeJin: Just lie there and I'll get you some medicine and a drink. Then you can take a nap and rest up. - HeeJin leaves the room and enters the kitchen. She reaches into a pantry and takes out a few tablets. Then she goes to the refrigerator and takes out a bottle of juice. As she does that, she begins to hear music coming from her room. She returns to find Arnell moving an electric fan around. HeeJin: Hey. - She puts the medicine and juice down on a table then rushes over to Arnell. She takes his hands off the fan and puts him back down on the bed. HeeJin: Don't exert yourself. Arnell: I was just... HeeJin: I know what you were doing. I was going to do this anyways. I remember how it was trying to take care of you before. Just lie there and I'll do the rest. - She hands him the medicine and juice. HeeJin: Take this. - He takes the medicine and drinks more than half of the juice as HeeJin moves the fan towards the foot of the bed. The music from the stereo begins to skip. HeeJin goes over to try to fix it, but then turns it off. HeeJin: Sorry. I need to get a new stereo soon. I tripped over the cord and I think some of the wires got torn up. So, it's not always working well. Arnell: ...darn... HeeJin: But I know you like to hear some soft music while you rest when you're sick. - She sits next to the bed. "Love Sick" Part Two - HeeJin comes into the room with a bottle of water and a glass of milk for herself. She finds Arnell still in bed, but playing a videogame. HeeJin: Hey, don't start without me. - She sits up next to him and sets the bottle of water next to his feverish head. Arnell: I wasn't continuing the story. Just fighting to gain levels. HeeJin: Okay, but you shouldn't be playing though. Arnell: Why? HeeJin: You might get a headache. - He hands HeeJin the controller and closes his eyes. HeeJin: Am I right? Arnell: ...yes... HeeJin: I'll save your game. Arnell: You can play on. I'll watch. HeeJin: Oh, all right. - She carries on with the game for an hour. Sometime within that hour, Arnell falls asleep. HeeJin notices and saves the game and quits. She goes over and turns off the game system. She puts the game back in a drawer full of games. Her eyes catch attention to her copy of Final Fantasy VIII. Almost instinctively, she picks it up and looks at it. (HeeJin): C'mon. Show me. You said you know how. (Arnell): I do know how. (HeeJin): Show me. (Arnell): All right, all right. Let's watch it first. Helps refresh my memory since I haven't done it in awhile. - He loads up a save file of Final Fantasy VIII that is right before the ballroom scene. They watch it together. (Arnell): See? Not that hard. (HeeJin): I guess not. Let's watch it again. - They watch the dance one more time. After the second time, Arnell gets up and takes out a cd with the ballroom music and plays it on a stereo. He takes HeeJin, who hesitantly gets up, by the hand. He places her hands where they should be. (Arnell): This is opposite. (HeeJin): Huh? (Arnell): It's like I'm Rinoa showing you how to do it instead of... (HeeJin): The other way around, hehe. Okay. So, show me. - He begins to show her the dance. After numerous tries... (Arnell): Want to quit for now? (HeeJin): No. Not until I get it. Even if it takes all night, which I'm sure you won't mind. (Arnell): Of course not, but it's an easy dance. I don't see how you can't get it. (HeeJin): Just shut up and dance. Then maybe some day we can do this dance in front of people as a couple. It would be really nice. HeeJin: But we haven't done that... - She sighs and gets up. At the kitchen, she starts to make soup for her ailing patient. Again, she thinks back. (HeeJin): Thanks for watching him while I was out. (EunJin): No problem. You know that he acts a little weird when he's sick? (HeeJin): Yeah, I know. It's usually because of the fever. He starts talking about whatever and acts funny. (EunJin): Okay. For awhile I thought something was really wrong. - Arnell walks to meet HeeJin. (Arnell): Welcome back. (HeeJin): Hi, Oppa. - She hugs him. (HeeJin): What are you doing out of bed? (Arnell): I wanted to see you. (HeeJin): You could've waited. C'mon, let's go back to the room. - All three go to the room. HeeJin rests Arnell down. (EunJin): Such a big healthy boy, hehe. (Arnell): ...mm... (HeeJin): Okay. I'll be back. Just wait there. - He nods. HeeJin makes her way to the bathroom. (HeeJin): Thanks again, EunJin. (EunJin): No problem. Anytime. (Arnell): Thank you, EunJin. (EunJin): Anything for you. You'd do the same for me. (Arnell): Mm-hmm... (HeeJin): Nothing bad happened? (EunJin): No. Everything was fine. (HeeJin): That's good to hear. (Arnell): How was your day, Sweetheart? (HeeJin): Fine. Nothing hard. (EunJin): Nothing special? (HeeJin): No. Oh, I did pick up something nice for Arnell though. (EunJin): Ooh, a gift for you. (Arnell): What is it? - HeeJin comes out in a nurse’s outfit. EunJin covers her mouth in amazement. (Arnell): Whoa... (HeeJin): Thank you for your cooperation, EunJin. I'll take over from here. (EunJin): HAHA. (HeeJin): I'll see that this patient is taken care of. (EunJin): Okay, hehe. Bye, you two. Have fun, Arnell. - EunJin giggles and leaves. HeeJin stands right next to her patient. (HeeJin): You like? (Arnell): I should get sick more often. (HeeJin): Ha, don't get used to this. Enjoy it while you can. (Arnell): Indeed, I will. - HeeJin giggles to herself. "Love Sick" Part Three - HeeJin walks into the kitchen. She goes to the refrigerator and pulls out a small bottle of water and drinks it. Then she takes out a small piece of cake. After getting herself a fork, she sits down at the eating table. - *ding dong* - She puts down the fork and goes to answer the door. HeeJin: Hi. Come in. - MiYoun enters. HeeJin closes the door behind her. MiYoun: Hi, HeeJin. How's your patient? HeeJin: Getting better, but still is pretty much sick. MiYoun: Oh. I hope he doesn't mind a small visit. HeeJin: I don't think he would. He's been here the whole time. Seeing someone else would probably make him feel better. Do you want some cake? I was just about to eat some. MiYoun: Sure. HeeJin: You can just have the one I took out, MiYoun. I'll be back. I need to go to the bathroom. MiYoun: Okay. - HeeJin goes away. MiYoun takes a seat. She grabs the fork and takes a bite. As she goes for another bite, Arnell walks in. He walks and stops right next to MiYoun and stares at her. MiYoun: Hi. Arnell: ... MiYoun: ...how are you? Arnell: I'm...fine... MiYoun: Are you okay? Arnell: Who are you..? - MiYoun raises her eyebrow then giggles. MiYoun: It's me, MiYoun. Arnell: ...oh...what are you doing here? MiYoun: I came to see how you were since you've been sick for a while. Arnell: Oh, that's very nice of you...MiYoun. - He continues to stare at her. MiYoun: Something wrong? Arnell: ...you're cute. - MiYoun giggles and then remembers something. MiYoun (T): Oh, I remember. HeeJin told me how he gets when he's sick sometimes. - She feels his forehead. MiYoun: You're hot. Arnell: I know I am. Thank you. - She smiles and shakes her head. MiYoun: You should go back to bed and rest. Arnell: Oh. Okay. - He keeps looking right at her. Arnell: You want to come to bed with me? - MiYoun laughs. HeeJin comes from the doorway. MiYoun signs for her to stay there and watch on. HeeJin: Hmm? MiYoun: You think that's a good idea, Arnell? Arnell: Oh, of course it is. MiYoun: But what about HeeJin? Arnell: ...who? MiYoun: Hehe, your fiancé. Arnell: ...OH, her. She can come, too. - MiYoun and HeeJin laugh. Arnell: It'll be fun. C'mon... MiYoun: You should feel lucky to have HeeJin taking care of you at this time when she has mixed feelings for you. It shows that she really cares about you. - HeeJin smiles. Arnell: At least someone will come with me to bed. - MiYoun laughs. HeeJin: I'll be back, MiYoun. MiYoun: Hehe, okay. - In the room, HeeJin lays Arnell down. She brings over a portable electric fan and puts it at the foot of the bed. She kisses him on the forehead and begins to leave. Arnell: Hey, HeeJin. - She turns and comes back to him. HeeJin: Yes? Arnell: You just missed the funniest thing. HeeJin: Oh? Tell me about it. Arnell: Something about MiYoun...wanting to sleep with me or something...not sure...never mind. Maybe I dreamed it up. HeeJin: Hehe. It's okay, Arnell. Just get some rest and I can tell you about it later. Arnell: Mm, okay. Thanks, HeeJin. HeeJin: No problem. - Arnell curls up in the sheets. HeeJin leaves and rejoins MiYoun who is finished with the cake. HeeJin sits down. MiYoun: That was funny, hehe. HeeJin: Yeah, it was. I hope you didn't feel so weird when it happened. MiYoun: It's alright. I remember you telling me that he sometimes acts weird when he's sick. HeeJin: Mm-hmm. MiYoun: Hope he doesn't do that to everyone. Although that would be funny to see, hehe. "Love Sick" Part Four - Nighttime. HeeJin goes to the bathroom and washes her face. She wipes her face off with a small white towel. HeeJin: ...can't sleep... - *cough cough cough* - She goes to blow her nose on some tissue paper. Then she looks next to the sink for some cough medicine. After drinking some of the green fluid, she opens one of the sink drawers and takes out a thermometer. She walks out with the thermometer in her mouth. As she slowly slips back in bed, she looks at her temperature. HeeJin: ... - She feels her forehead as she tosses the thermometer aside. She quickly falls asleep. The thermometer lands on Arnell's pillow. He turns over and the thermometer rolls to his face. Arnell: Mm..? - He takes a look at it then puts it aside and goes back to sleep. -...- - The next day, HeeJin wakes up. She turns to see Arnell missing. She looks around. HeeJin: Arnell? - She gets up slowly and heads to the bathroom. Meanwhile, Arnell enters the room with two bottles of water. He lies down on his side of the bed and places one of the bottles and HeeJin's side. HeeJin returns and lies back down. She takes the bottle of water and places it next to her face. Arnell goes to the bathroom and returns soon with all sorts of medicines. He places them on a table near the bed. He crawls back in bed and places his bottle on his pillow allowing it to rest on the top of his head. The two face each other. HeeJin (W): ...I'm sick... Arnell (W): I know. - He points to the thermometer that is still on the bed. HeeJin (W): Should we call someone? Arnell (W): We'll be fine... - He closes his eyes. Arnell (W): It's not like we've never been sick together before. Just like around last November and another time before that on one of our trips. - He opens his eyes to find HeeJin closer to him, staring right at him. HeeJin (W): Yeah, but it makes me think that...*cough cough cough*...that I can't take care of you properly. Arnell (W): Oh. Don't think that. - HeeJin scooches closer. Arnell (W): Think of it like you care so much that you're willing to get sick while taking care of me. - Both are now forehead-to-forehead with their eyes closed. Arnell (W): And I would do and think the same whenever you are sick. HeeJin (W): ...mm, yeah...you're right. - She kisses the air towards her sick mate for she doesn't have the energy to move closer. HeeJin (W): How do...*cough*... how do you always know what to say? Arnell (W): Hmm? I just know. I just say what's right. HeeJin (W): ...it always seems you know what to say...like someone wrote it for you...to say. Arnell (W): Haha. Well...*cough cough* - HeeJin moves even closer. Arnell (W): ... HeeJin (W): ...sorry... Arnell (W): For..? HeeJin (W): ...the closeness. Arnell (W): ...no, it's okay. I've missed this. HeeJin (W): Me, too. Arnell (W): I've missed this for the past month. HeeJin (W): Mm...it's *cough cough* only been a little over a month..? Seems longer. - Arnell brushes her hair back with his hand. HeeJin (W): ... Arnell (W): ...thank you. What happened? Arnell: Hungry? We talked about it. She's still mad. EunJin: A little hungry. She has right to be mad. Arnell: You want noodles? You're right. Take a lesson from me: don't cheat. EunJin: Pizza. I would think not to cheat in the first place. Arnell: You order. Yeah, cheating is bad... - EunJin picks up the phone and dials. EunJin: What kind? You shouldn't have cheated on her.
