Fans are outraged with the release of yet another remake of Korean songs. This time it is the popular SM Town song, 'Angel Eyes', re-sing by a number of Taiwanese singers. Taiwanese boyband Energy, female soloist Evonne Hsu, and male singer Wilber sing their rendition of 'Angel Eyes' in Mandarin, of which the title was changed into 'Universal Love' in connection with their record label, Universal Records. 'Angel Eyes' was the title song for SM Town's Winter Vacation 2001, performed by the artists that were under SM Entertainment at that time. They include Kangta, Moon Hee Jun, Yoo Young Jin, BoA, Shinhwa, FlytotheSky, Dana, and SES. K-pop fans have known Energy from their habit of singing remakes of famous K-pop songs, including Shinhwa's 'Hey Come On', JTL's 'Enter The Dragon', and Se7en's 'Come'. The other two artists involved in 'Universal Love' have also previously done remakes of Korean songs. Evonne Hsu sings Brown Eyes' and Lee Soo Young's songs, while Wilber sings Lee Jae Jin's song. The aspect that fans criticised the most is the fact that 'Universal Love' is the exact copy of 'Angel Eyes', including minor parts such as talking parts and background sounds. Is Universal Records trying to form their very own Universal Town family? credit to:[GayoNews] |
