After Kim Gun Mo stated he would not attend any of the end of year ceremonies, Big Mama, Wheesung, Se7en and YG Ent. singers as well as Jo Sung Mo, FlytotheSky, singers who have a high chance of receiving awards stated they would not take part in newspaper and broadcasting channel award ceremonies. These singers stated that they could not participate due to concert schedules but it seems as though the singers companies and certain broadcasting channels may have a discord with each other. On November 28, the Culture Regiment released a declaration to 'Stop End of Year Music Ceremonies', 'the Ill influences of the special credit that was given to relationships in end of year ceremonies has still not improved' and also 'netizen demonstration, singers support, and demonstrations in front of the broadcasting buildings' will take place. It looks like the three broadcasting channels will receive severe ordeals. The three broadcasting channels music program producers are seeing the singers non-participation as insignificant. Thieir opinions are that as since there is a demand to see end of year concerts, the singers make the performance schedules so you cannot force them to change their schedules for the award ceremonies. However to schedule concerts knowing that there will be award ceremonies taking place at those times is showing that compared to before, the broadcasting channel phase has become weak. The producer of SBS Inki Gayo Soh Yong Jun said the reason was because there were just too many of the ceremonies. "Cable, Sports newspapers etc make too many end of year ceremonies bringing their value down" Another example was on the 27th last month, as due to schedules, BoA did not attend a ceremony where her chances her receiving an award were high. The producer of MBC Music Camp said the reason was due to "the opinion that participating in TV activities does not influence album sales" Before it was that if you aired on tv, it would influence your album sales but now the singers who do not show their faces have higher album sales. "Singers that have talent and focus on their own music style see the broadcasting system as not satisfactory." However the director of KBS, Park Hae Sun stated "Singers non-participation comes up every year" and that "its not an important factor". "When Jo Yong Pil and Lee Sun Hee said they would not participate, it was said in the media that the broadcasting system was changing but since then there has been no big change." On the other hand YG Entertainments chief Lee Ji Hoon stated "concert shedules have gotten in the way and its not like what the media has said, the relationship with the broadcasting channels are not bad". credit to:GayoNews,Solid07 |
