Possible deportation of T
It was announced that female R&B artist T (22, full name Yoon Mi Rae), who has been in a prolonged fight over her contract with World Music, could possibly be deported from Korea depending on the verdict of her trial.

T filed a suit against World Music early this year, asking for her payment that was missing. In response to this World Music filed a counter-suit, stating that last summer T cost them their reputation--a fight that still goes on today. Despite World's unreasonable claims, the possibility of T's deportation seems to be very real.

The reason for this possibly dramatic outcome is because of the drug-abuse charges against her in 2000. T, who debuted with 4-member hip hop group Uptown back in '96 was charged along the rest of Uptown for illegal drug use in December of 2000.

Every member of Uptown, excluding T, was deported to United States, where all of them held citizenship. The members were able to be active in Korea through a Work Visa, but the 3 members of Uptown could no longer stay in Korea due to the drug charges.

T was able to stay active in Korea due to a trust-claim with World Music. But in the case that T breaks off her relations with World Music, World Music says, T will have to join the other members of Uptown and be deported out of Korea.

Someone who was involved in World Music said that because "T and her mother signed a contract that claimed that they will follow the will of the company, as far as my knowledge, that might mean that T might lose the case and have the same problems with her Work Visa as the other members of Uptown did". However, T's defense against this is that she released two albums under World Music and still has not gotten the treatment and recognition that she deserves from the company. Hence, there's still some hope that a different outcome can occur.

After T left Uptown, she successfully re-entered the music industry as part of female duo group "Tashannie". With the blow out success of her 2001 solo 'As Time Goes By', she earned a top spot among other R&B Solo singers.
