Changes on Shinhwa's Japan concert plans Popular around all of Asia, the famous Korean boy group Shinhwa had planned to hold 3 concerts in February 2004 in Tokyo, Japan, but after their promotional trip to Japan on October 30th, the plans suddenly changed. Good Entertainment, Shinhwa's company, and Open World Music have begun negotiations about the concert since February with BoA's Japanese company, Avex Trax, discussing the concert plans and details. In the beginning of September after holding many conferences debating the issue, they decided that on February 24th of next year, Shinhwa would go to Tokyo to hold concerts in 3 days, but on October 30th, when Shinhwa was promoting their concert, all of a sudden Avex Trax mentioned a new request, causing preparations to come to a hault. Open World representative said that "We already agreed on the sound systems and even the price through email, and Avex Trax had already said, as long as they sell mmore than 7000 tickets, they'll definitely hold it, but now they're saying 'we haven't decided whether or not we want to take responsibility for promotion in Europe, so how are you going to come?'. Their reply has changed 180 degrees." Afterwards, Avex Trax announced a new request, saying that "the concert will only be promoted if EMI and Shinhwa sign a contract to release an album in Japan". To this, Avex Trax replies, saying "We never officially agreed to promote this concert; there must have been a mistake in the translation that caused this misunderstanding." But, Open World already thought that this was Avex Trax's way of getting Shinhwa's copyright rights. Right now, they are debating on how to handle the situation. Good Entertainment also is deciding whether or not to complain in court. [source: udnstars; credits: solid07] #30# Source: http://www.gayonews.com/?q=news&nid=104 //Seoul |
