More than 100 singers and various heads of the Korean music industry held a rally recently, condemning the illegal use of their songs on the Internet. In attendance were such pop-idols as BoA, Shinhwa, Park Jin-young, Baby-Vox, and the five-member boy-band, god. Kim Kyung-nam, head of Revolution No. 9 Productions said all they are asking Internet sites is to request permission in using their copyrighted material. Appeals were also made to listeners and netizens. They urged fans to stop frequenting peer-to-peer Web sites, to erase all downloaded music to prevent further file sharing, and to support only legal Web sites that have obtained record company permission and approval.

Well, I doubt they're loosing money, but probably profits aren't what they had hoped for. This is why I strongly suggested that ppl NOT discuss if they downloading. There are probably 10,000 US songs that go from here to Korea, for each KPOP song that comes this way. The RIAA (Recording Industry of America A??) would gladly sacrifice the KPOP-sters here in exchange for Korean's downloading our music. This is why I didn't want ppl to post their actions in this forum. (I'm trying to keep them safe!)

i wonder if i were there and a big singing star if i would feel the same
because i think it's okay for sites to at least provide a listen and not have people fully download them so they can burn to cd
although there are multiple programs that people would use to work around that
but i can understand if they want sales to improve by not letting people download songs

for me personally, if i hear the songs, i'm more than often influenced to by the cd
sure i can make my own arrangement of songs by burning songs to a cd
but i'm the type to want authenticity, so i have to buy the original source
then i end up listening to the whole cd and liking more than half to the whole album

but i do understand why they would want sites to just stop allowing downloads to happen
it is their music, anyways
it's their's to do with what they wish

IT'S SCREWY

If You are my fan, you feed me,... like a fan should! !
the Real fans should step in and help..become hit men! HIT MEN. get it?

If I cut a record, and it cost a million dollars 2 create, (because I am really great)and someone bought it ..and started copying it..and handing the copies around..
that would be their business.. .
But I would be voicing my loss . .I would have went ten times platinum!
I would lose alot of money that way
but the people who don't appreciate me stopped that from happening..
I would speak vile things of such people. soon my fans would join in
and things would get ugly for them ! !
so bad, ..that anyone with duplicates would have to hide them and not let anyone know that they do that ..because if they are caught with a duplicate
..by a fan of mine,...they would be killed on the spot.

I don't know, my opinion could go either way... I mean, in some ways it's wrong.... and that yeah they're losing money and stuff.... but on the other hand, I won't know weather I like their music unless I heard some of it.... and I won't buy the album unless I like the music....and plus.... they're losing money but don't they make enough money already?? I mean the artists are hugely rich....

....but if g.o.d. don't like it :opps: aww forgive me Hoi, hehe ^^

That's right
How do we know if we like it?
artists who mass produce, their work aren't like artists who
make a painting.
maybe they should invent little galleries for demonntrating
previews..and only make the amount of CD's that people order
and if not enough people order it to satisfy them,..

I only download music i can't buy where i live, that includes anything related to Asian music. I don't trust ordering stuff online. I don't like to download music i can buy where i live, i try my best not to. If i really like the music, i'll definitely choose to buy the album over downloading a couple of songs from it.

Everytime i buy an album, i get more in return than downloading a couple of songs, because i always end up loving the entire album no matter what.
