Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Logan gave a nice long yawn, gazing upon the artistic covered streets of the floating city he knew primarily as home. How long exactly had it been since he was last here? Maybe a few months, hunting down his brother in Norwood, coming across interesting people left and right, fighting an oversized oyster with magic from a watery hell. Possibly one of the craziest adventures he will ever be involved with, a couple of his ribs were still broken from the nightmare, and he didn’t even have that mysterious monster of a pearl to show for it.

Oh well, he shrugged it off, looking down at the different paintings, several catching his eye but no money with which to pay it for. He had spent several gold just getting the mask that kept him alive underwater, but no real work had come his way. Too bad today was completely and utterly miserable. The season he hated the most had befallen then world, Summer. The nightmarish season of scorching heat and cloudless days, the elemental spawn of hell looming in the sky for longer. Damn, why did it have to be noon? It would be too long before the sun set, had it not been for the green and white striped hat on his head, the werewolf would have died already.

Okay, yeah, even he thought he was being a bit melodramatic, but in the end, one truth always remained, he hated the sun and wished it would rain wherever he went, that way he wouldn’t have to be victim to the monster… Wait… He covered his wolfish muzzle with a furry gray palm, remembering something he had come across in Kellan, a simple spell that was heaven to him… but he liked the paintings, so he was faced with a moral dilemma of ruining fine art or cooling himself off.

Now he was standing in the middle of the street, the sun beating down on his hat relentlessly. He liked the artwork too much for even his own personal relief. Now he was depressed… and thirsty. He lifted his head, his ADD kicking in as he went in search for a quick drink, peering through every window and at every piece of hand crafted artwork along the way. Sixteen years living in Cascadia and the only place he knew to get a drink from was his house, and he wanted to be in Cascadia for one day while avoiding the obnoxiousness of his father.

A little ways down the street the sound of Faerie Pipes being played could be heard. Luna was mostly just passing though the town and had decided to stop to rest her tired feet and while doing so pulled out the flute like instrument to get in a little practice while she rested. Her playing got a little crowd of people comeing to listen to the little neko girl play her music even if she wasn't very good yet.

She was a bit of an oddity it would seem since there weren't many neko girls walking around. Her long pink colored hair was allowed to flow freely behind her while her light blue eyes were closed to let her concentrate on her playing to keep up. Her pink ears with there white tips were twitching as she listened both to her music and the sound of the people around her.

She was wearing an orange and black no sleeve dress with a black belt on her waist her little pink and white tail sticking out the back and twitching around freely. She finishes her little song and smiles. As she puts the pipes away the small crowed leave to go about there daily activitys while she got up to stretch. "Hmm where to next..." She said to herself as she looked around and started to walk the streets not seeming to mind the heat.

She wasn't covered in fur like some people and she was born in august so she was ok with the heat the way it was now. She stopped to look at some jewelry at one of the shops knowing full well she couldent afford anything there but it was still nice to look.

While searching for a place to drink, and occasionally getting distracted by pieces of artwork, his wolfen ears caught sound of music only a few streets down. The sound of the instrument was familiar, but Logan couldn’t place the name of it, he simply allowed himself to be drawn in by the music, quickly finding a crowd gathered around what he could only think would be the source of the music. His curiosity often got the better of him, especially when the thing that caught his attention didn’t seem at all like it held any sort of hostile intent what-so-ever.

The werewolf made his way to a good spot in the crowd, the height of his favored form putting him well over the heads of several other spectators and his placement keeping him from blocking anybody else’s view. The source of the music were a simple set of faerie pipes, the instrumentalist, however, was something different. She seemed like a sort of were-cat, but Logan hadn’t ever heard of one with pink in place of the typical colors for a feline.

Being perfectly honest, she wasn’t particularly skilled, though the instrument was simple, even the werewolf could hear that line of potential, perhaps he was witnessing a famous bard in the making. Or perhaps this was somebody who simply occasionally liked to play music.

The crowd had quickly dispersed when she had finished, the artistic city often gave attention to any sort of artist in the making, a friendly place for sure… when monsters weren’t attacking it. Though, while most of the spectators left, Logan stayed, curious about the pink cat girl in the orange and black dress, he ended up following her, silently watching her gaze at the jewelry for a moment.

“To be perfectly honest,” He said idly, looking at the jewelry as well, unimpressed with the craftsmanship, “The street-side accessory crafters make their jewelry with better care and detail than most of what you'll find in an import store.” He didn’t even realize he had said that out loud until the words left his mouth.

"I think its all pretty nice." She said picking up a necklace and holding it to her neck for a second. "But I dont think I could pull them off very well..." She said putting the necklace back down. "Besides I don't have the money for them." She said turning her gaze to the taller male wolf now standing beside her. She raises an eye brow at his clothing finding the hat and rest of his clothing rather odd. "My name is Luna." She said holding out the small slender neko hand of hers.

Even though she was still young and didn't carry a weapon besides the small staff on her back she sometimes used as a walking stick she didnt seem to scared of some one bigger than her. She moved a few stray strands of her hair from her face so she could see a little better before walking on to look at more stalls.

"It seems like everything here is art..." She said not being much of an art fan and knowing very little about it. "Oh well I guess it's a nice place to visit for a bit." She said with a shurg. She wasn't going to be staying there long just a day or so before she would move on to the next town.

Logan watched and listened as the strange cat girl put a necklace to her neck, looking it over. She didn’t exactly sound like she was full of self esteem… either that or she wasn’t exactly in the realm of lying to herself. A lot of Cascadians weren’t exactly interested in the items that all seemed to be imported copies of one another. Sure, there was probably a good deal of work that went into making them, but a red ruby on a gold chain looked the same as another, even if one was square and the other was heart shaped, they were more like souvenirs or the regift items of the rich.

“I’m Alan Thyme.” Logan shook Luna’s small hand, his paranoia keeping him from trusting her right away, but still he gave a nice, friendly and honest smile on his wolfish muzzle, “Yes I get the pun, no it’s not my real name. I’m just another paranoid werewolf.” He chuckled, answering a question he didn’t know would be asked or not, but anyway he still liked to give slight explanation and assurance his name wasn’t so goofy as Alan Thyme.

Luna didn’t exactly seem like a threat, her small and delicate appearance… too bad appearances were often so very dangerously misleading. Though she did seem friendly enough, and so far Logan hadn’t exactly come across any of those friendly psychos… yet… he was praying that this wouldn’t be the first one he would come across. In any case, he followed her, being found in a bit of a conversation with her, looking over the different art.

“Yeah, all us Cascadians love the freedom of art. Plenty of performers throughout the city streets.” He responded idly to her comment about the art, taking notice of a rather interesting picture depicting a unicorn war mount. Not exactly what one would commonly see with art, maybe he’d wander by later and see if he could haggle with the artist some.

“So, Luna… do you mind me asking what you are exactly? You smell a little like a cat and a human, but you don’t have that same smell of a werefeline… and you’re pink. I haven’t known a cat person yet to be pink before meeting you.”
