Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Nero simply smirked at the boy's question, before turning and heading back down the corridor they were in. "I can't honestly remember." The vampire was speaking the truth; this area wasn't really in his top knowledge spot. He knew his way around, but he wasn't overly knowledgeable about the certain area that they were in. He knew where it lead, but wasn't really sure about who or what they might face up ahead. But they were safe from the rabbit so far, so that was a plus.

Brant was still suspicious, he knew way to much, and that rabbit was after all, just that. A Rabbit. Although the whole sword falling from the ceiling this was kinda... Weird, but even more so weird was the simple fact that Nero had known it was going to fall before it even did, even so it was his best chance at survival and so he followed him down the corridor.

As the two continued their endeavours down the seemingly never-ending corridor which appeared to be the same as any other, Nero softly began to hum a haunting, yet catchy melody to himself. Barely loud enough for Brant to hear, he had to have something to drown out the cacophany of silence which decided to spread around them. There was little in anything outside of grey stone walls and floor and darkness to accompany them, and things seemed silent... Almost too silent.

Brant almost jumped in surprise when Nero began to hum, although it was so low and subtle that he could barely hear it, it was certainly not a tune, at least from what he could hear of it, that Brant knew. The silence had been overbearing but he still found it weird that the man had decided to hum at a time like this. They were surrounded by thousands of zombies and skeletons, as well as a rabbit of mass destruction, and here he was humming to himself in a dark tunnel. What an odd person.

The tunnel continued stretching out empty for what seemed like an age for the vampire and his human pet companion. The scuttling of rats and ever so often dripping stray droplet of water the only sound to encompass and echo endlessly throughout the dark tunnel; matched only by the meoldy coming from the mouth of the vampire who seemed far too jaunty for the situation they found themselves encumbered with.

Suddenly there was a noise up ahead; a shriek. A loud, piercing shriek which smashed through the darkness and hit the two gentlemen. Though it was enough to stop nero whistling, he didn't appear overly fazed by what had just happened...

The darkness made it so that the scream's origin was unable to be made out...

There was a loud scream that echoed down the tunnel, the sound waves hit Brant like a large moving possibly four wheeled object. He stopped in his tracks and looked over at Nero to gauge his expression. The man standing next to him thus far had been oddly calm, and although he sometimes acted surprised, but Brant often felt that was all it was. Just an act.

He would watch this man for a while longer, until he decided whether or not he was better off without him or with him.

Although so far, he did need him. That bunny would have killed him.

Nero's expression was... Oddly calm. After a split second of what could only be described as a thoughtful expression, the man developed a small, yet still distinguishable smirk, even with the darkness hindering most of view. Withinyet another second or two, the vampire had begun to draw his sword from its sheath.

"You can come out, you know..." His tone was loud, mocking. Whatever the two were about to face was clearly not too much of a problem for the vampire; or at least he wasn't going to show it.

In almost perfect response another scream belted out into the tunnel, followed by a soft, pained moaning sound.

Brant thought he saw the man smirk, but it was hard to tell through the darkness. He may have also just been imagining things with how paranoid he was involving this man.

After a while he drew his sword from his sheath, Brant followed his example by readying his bow and knocking and arrow.

Nero spoke loudly, not quite yelling but not quite speaking wither. His voice echoed down the tunnel, which was quickly followed by another loud scream and a soft moan. Brant aimed his bow down the tunnel and prepared for whatever was about to show up.

The moaning got louder and loader for what seemed to be an endless period of time for the two cave explorers; ragged, harsh breathe matched by the sound of dry, hoarse moans were enough to send chills into the strongest of men's hearts. The sound stayed around the area; and whilst it seemed that the sounds implied that whatever was making them was almost in touching distance of them, whatever was making it was still completely out of sight to them.

"Stay focused. Her magic is illusion-based; slip up and you're a gonner." He smirked again; baring one of his shiny fangs. Though the sounds were definitely scary, Nero didn't seem bothered in the slightest.

Brant listened as another scream came, this one lasted a really long time, Brant thought he could pinpoint the area it came from and launched an arrow into the darkness. He assumed he missed as the screaming continued without even the faintest pause.

Brant knocked another arrow and waited patiently, had he been paying any closer attention he would have actually noticed the fang in Nero's mouth. "How do you know all of this?" Brant asked almost casually as he continued to wait and watch.

Nero looked the boy over as je proceeded to knock an arrow in order to ready himself against the encroaching creature; his actions were enough to widen the fledgling vampire's smirk, followed by a small sniff of amusement at the human's naivety. He had his own sword ready, but its lazy hangin position by his side clearly showed that he wasn't ready to use it any time within the immediate timeframe. He made it clear from his body positioning that he was waiting for something; of which they both knew what it was.

"I know a lot of things," he replied mockingly. "It doesn't matter how I do... Only that me knowing them is saving your life."

The moans remained as they were; loosly wofting around the two. But there was still noc reature that was making them which could be seen amongst the darkness of the tunnel.

At Nero's response Brant smirked. Despite the fact that so far this man had been nothing but suspicious and off putting his answer was sound. "hard to argue with that..." Brant said while still focusing on the long tunnel. "Since you know so much... Do you happen to know he we kill this thing?" Brant took a step back just to in case. He didn't want to risk being too close when whatever this things was attacked.

"Well... This creature is suceptible to... Cold, hard steel," the vampire responded to the boy calmly; his smirk still ripe on his face as he proceeded to twirl the blade, rather fancily at that, around in his hand. His statement was simple, concise; practically everything that they would face in the 'dungeon' would be easily matched and further defeated by a good hand a steady swing.

Soon enough, a figure began to move out of the darkness... Making its was way toward Brant. Whilst he couldn't quite make out the details, the boy was able to tell it was humanoid; and the sounds which accompanied it were the sound of chains; clinking against the floor matching every step of the creature.

Oddly enough, Nero didn't seem to notice anything...

The pause in the man's statement made Brant doubt the statement, but even so, he had no other real information to go off of. Once the shape became visible Brant once more took a small step backwards and fired an arrow at it's form. Hoping the arrow would do something, considering the arrow tips were made of steel... At least he thought it was made of steel... Or was it iron? He had never had the thought or desire to ever find out.

The arrow flew through the air only to pass harmlessly through the being, clattering against the ground somewhere behind the illusion. "Well.... That sucks." Brant said calmly as he drew another arrow from his quiver. He took another step back and took a deep breath, closing his eyes and listening more intently for any sign of something. Anything would do.

Nero was visibly taken aback by the sudden loosening of an arrow from Brant; though only for the briefest of moments, his smirk dissipated completely, and hi eyes widened in a mixture of both shock and confusion. He turned for a moment, only catching a glimpse of the projectile as it whooshed past him and into, from the vampire's perspective, an empty tunnel; the darkness seeming to stretch emptily on.

After the shock of the event calmed down Nero sniffed, returning himself to looking back forwards. "So, I assume she's be-" The vampire was cut off; another, sickeningly loud and piercing scream erupted into the tunnel. By the sudden halt of his speech, and tighter grip on his sword, it was clear that Nero could hear this.

There was further movement in the darkness once it died down, and another humanoid shape began to move toward them. This one seemed slimmer in comparison to the last, practically emaciated; it was also male. As it walked toward them, rather human-like in comparison the shambling zombies prior, it became clear that it had... A different head. The head of a child's doll had been attached to the body of a man; and accompanying the doll was a rhythmic clicking sound, which came from its mouth opening and shutting every few seconds.

"... I guess she can also do stuff like this... Well, if I can see it at least..."

The vampire didn't sound very confident.
