Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Nero turned to look over his shoulder at Brant as he posed the question; a small smile spread across his lips and he released his hand from the door handle. "It would have taken us to the area where the main overseer of this dungeon resides. If you thought Castepolis was remotely powerful, this guy would make him look like a complete pansy... Oh! If you see a rabbit down here, alert me straight away." And with that, Nero opened the door, took a right and continued down the dark passageway.

Brant, with a small smile to himself, followed Nero down the narrow hallway, Nero still carried the torch which lit their way, and Brant made sure to keep his eyes out for any rabbits, though he thought that was just another ploy that the man had, something to screw with Brant's head. Even so he kept an arrow nocked, and his bow string pulled back a small bit.

The corridor continued down in darkness, which was lit up just enough to keep going by the small amount of the torch which Nero once again held in his grasp. Since they had reached the room which Castepolis had been in the doors further down the room were all cells... Empty cells. Serving the dungeon's purpose, they were now in the prison area of it where all the cells were located. It was almost completely deserted, but small noises flung out into the area every now and again, but not loud enough to be distinguished. "I'm not sure whether this is just deserted or it's a trap." Nero said warily, clutching his sword tighter. "Be on your guard."

Brant nodded his head, not that Nero could see it considering Nero was directly in front of him, and had his back turned, but he still did it to show he understood. Brant searched around, in all the dark crevices that he couldn't see into clearly, he looked the hardest. He pulled his bowstring back a little bit more, hoping to be ready for anything. He though he heard a loud creak off to the left, but it turned out to be nothing.

The corridor still held nothing of interest for the two wary men as they continued down it; the cells were empty, bar a few bones or rats which scuttered away every so often, and drew the two's attention. But other than that it remained dark and barren, almost completely silent other than the two's footsteps which echoed throughout the area. "It's odd," Nero said suddenly, out of nowhere. "There should at least be a couple of drones down here. I haven't heard of a shift change in about a hundred years or so down here, so I wouldn't know why they'd choose now."

That was the second time Nero had exposed himself, with words alone. The fact that none of the zombies had had attacked them, and that the skeleton even knew Nero's name caused Brant to pause were he stood. "How do you know all of this? You knew were both of those corridors led, you spoke about the guard being changed, and the undead here don't even recognize you as a threat..."

Nero stopped dead as the boy posed yet another question; yet this one held a fair amount of truth to it. He had let his guard down for a moment and his statement had practically given himself away. But he had to some how think of a way round it, a way to trick the boy into not thinking he was a (former) member of the Shadow Society. After all he didn't wish to be associated with those scum any more. "I guess you could simply say I know my way around this Cemetery," was his reply; delivered as calmly as ever.

Brant, an arrow still nocked, though the bow was facing the floor, and therefore in no way could be taken as a threat, spoke again "How? You don't just stumble through a place like this, and remember every detail. There is something you're not telling me." Brant returned the calmness that Nero had in his own voice back to him.

Nero couldn't help but smile at the boy. He had his bow ready to attack Nero, though pointed at the floor and Nero himself had his sword gripped firmly, though it too was pointing to the ground to show he wouldn't attack either. But if it wasn't settled there most likely would be a fight between the two. "Heh, you don't expect a vampire not to know his way around a cemetery." Again he dodged answering.

Brant's bow string loosened a bit, not that it was that tight before. But even so, Brant was far from done talking. "You say that, but I met a vampire before, and he knew nothing of this cemetery, I doubt he even wanted to, and this tomb...This isn't a normal tomb, the zombie concentration was higher around this particular tomb, almost as if...They were protecting something."

It appeared Nero would have to try and think of a strategy of how to outsmart this boy, as it appeared he wasn't going to accept an answer like that easily. He smiled, but he was processing thought after thought of what to say. If he just upped and stated what this place was, likely as not the boy would want to leave, especially if he mentioned the other intelligent zombies. "Well usually a vampire sticks to one cemetery." Nero lied. "But maybe they are trying to protect something down here; maybe if it's on level with that skeleton guy's sword it'll be worth it?" He held his hands up to the boy as if to say 'come on', but in reality he was still dodging the question.

Brant narrowed his eyes, this man, no...This vampire was attempting not to say something, something important, Brant would figure it out eventually, but for now he decided to carry on with the walk. "After you then." Brant said and nodded his head in a motion that was meant to be taken as "Lets move"

Just after Brant spoke and implied for them to leave, Nero stopped dead in his tracks and immediately braced up. For the first time in the whole event he actually showed a visible sign of distress; and for the first time his smirk had been wiped from his face. This was because of a simple rabbit... Hopping away from them down the corridor. Nero's eyes were following every single one of its movements.

However, in a second a he turned and grabbed Brant by the arm. "If you want to live, run!" And with that he was off, sprinting down the corridor, away from a rabbit.

Brant looked back and forth, in between the now running away Nero, the vampire that from up until now had shown no fear what-so-ever up until he saw the plain white rabbit walking slowly across the floor. Brant approached the small white rabbit, it looked as any other rabbit would. Plain white, with large bunny eyes and, well...That was it, it just walked around, looking this way and that. Brant approached it and began to pet it "There, you're not so mean, Nero is just...Has a fear of things that aren't filled with Tasty blood.

Nero stopped in mid-sprint as he actually heard the kid talking to the rabbit as if... He snapped himself around just in time to see the boy actually petting the rabbit. As it didn't appear to have any malicious intent in it the worst of the worst hadn't happened, but as he started sprinting again, this time towards Brant, he noticed a small flash of blue from above the boy's head. Charging full speed, he arrived just in time to parry away a falling blade which appeared to be made entirely of light from skewering Brant.

Giving the boy no more chance to do anything, he grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and started pulling him down the corridor. "You bloody fool," he hissed violently as he did so.
