| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Brant stood behind Nero, the corridor was too small for him to squeeze past and since Nero had ultimately stopped dead in his tracks, it would be impossible for Brant to continue forward unless Nero opened the door to the room, and whatever lay on the other end. "So. I don't suppose you happen to know whats on the other side of this door do you?" Brant asked, suspicion creeping into his voice. |

Nero couldn't help but let his smile widen as Brant found he couldn't pass the vampire and would have to go into the room they were by in order for them to be able to set off down the corridor again... His question didn't widen Nero's smile but instead he shrugged casually; he didn't know if Castepolis was in there or not. He simply knew that this was his room and there should have been usable things in there for the vampire... But then again, Castepolis was an extremely stingy man, or skeleton... With a click Nero opened the door and casually strolled inside. There was a large circular oaken table in the centre of a rather large, but other than the table, empty room. The walls were lit by lanterns rather than torches, and the dull thud of the entirety of the zombie forces around could be heard echoing around the room. Thud. Thud. Thud. It was truly a spectacle to behold... Of course unknown to Brant, the large table was simply where Castepolis played his Poker... And usually lost. Castepolis was there... He was sitting rather idly on the other side of the table, with a large sword laid out on the table in front of him. Though no emotion could be expressed on his featureless skeleton face, the two could instantly tell he was unhappy... Which worsened as he laid eyes on Nero. "Who could have guessed it was you..." The skeleton grumbled to Nero, his voice low and gruff, as if he had been a smoker in his life. "As you've killed a few of my drones, I guess I can kill you, and your human friend... I'm sure the guys in the Mansion won't mind a missing member... Especially if I tell them what happened. With a few extra details, of course." He got up and readied his sword. Now that it was in sight, the sword was truly giant. It was like a giant claymore, but was fashioned from some green metal. |

Brant's eyes widened as the he heard the skeleton speak, even more so when the large skeleton addressed Nero directly. Brant wanted to speak, but for the moment was absolutely speechless. The large skeleton, somewhere between eight to ten feet in height, lifted a large green blade. Brant had never seen a sword of such mass, nor of the color green before. "Wait....How do you know Nero?" Brant asked the large skeleton, Brant's bow still at his side, held in his left hand while his right held an arrow. |

The skeleton scoffed in reply at Brant's question. But as he was about to respond, he was instantly ambushed by Nero who flew across the table and started to launch a barrage of attacks against him. However, the skeleton was coping just as well, and although he was being forced back into the large room, he was parrying and dodging Nero's blows with relative comfort. ""A coward as always, Nero." He stated calmly... He was pretty safe from Brant, as an arrow couldn't do much damage to creature which was simply bone; but if he could get under the helmet and destroy the skull of Castepolis, they would be able to defeat him. |

Once Brant noted that Nero had launched himself across the table at the large skeleton, Brant had been firing arrows at it, unfortunately those that did manage to hit merely bounced off of the large white skeletons bones. Brant had suspected as much, but for the most part he couldn't do anything else until he was completely sure that Nero held the large skeletons attention, and so Brant bided his time, not firing any arrows, but backing up slowly into the darker area of the room until he was forgotten about enough to launch an attack against the skeleton, for the time being no one would notice his disappearance. |

Once Castepolis had noticed that the human wasn't able to hurt him (or so he thought), he seemed to gain some morale and soon enough managed to start pushing Nero back with counter-attacks, but the two still remained fairly even. "You're better than you were," Castepolis spat at Nero, whilst trying to launch a particularly powerful attack at him... Which the vampire easily parried. "Well, practice makes perfect ya'know... Not just sitting around all day losing at Poker to creatures with just about less brain power than you." Neither of them had noticed Brant's disappearance. |

Brant slunk through the shadows the best he could, under normal circumstances the thought of him being able to snake by anyone at all was almost completely absurd, Brant was no good at sneaking, unless it was in a forest. But now, with both fighters oblivious to him it seemed fairly easy to do. He had reached the area directly behind the two combatants, but even so the helmet on the skeletons head still blocked his shot, he knew if he shouted out to Nero, the skeleton would hear it and turn and their chance would be blown. Hopefully Nero would figure it out. |

Unluckily for Brant... Nero was far too nto the fight with Castepolis to notice he should somehow remove his helmet. The constant exchanges of blows between the two undead caused the room to actually shake under the pressure, and the clangs of steel upon whatever-metal-it-was-Castepolis'-sword-was-made-from reverberated around the room and caused what could only be described as music. "Maaaan, Casta, you're too good." Nero crooned childishly to the Skeleton, to which the skeleton simply replied with an attack of his own. |

Brant watched and waited, the Skeletons blade must have been made of something magical, it seemed obvious by the fact that the room had begun to shake from the two fighting, even Brant knew that when two people fight, even if one was a giant skeleton, that the room shaking was not normal. Brant kept waiting, still having an arrow nocked in case he could find an opening. If the helmet didn't come off after this next group of blows, then Brant had an idea. |

Nero was still completely oblivious to Brant, and was still unaware that they would have to remove Catepolis' helmet in order to defeat him. But Nero and the skeleton were far too into the fight to even notice weaknesses; they were mainly focusing on the fact of parrying and avoiding each other's attacks. Neither of them had landed a hit on each other, but Nero's taunts were sure as hell riling up the skeleton and angering him... But maybe Nero did have a plan? He could have and just wasn't showing it? The vampire was like that after all. |

Brant waited, still no chance to execute a shot to the back of the skeletons skull, but an opportunity did arise, one that Brant had also been hoping for. The skeleton, in the midst of parrying an attack by Nero, bent his knee just the smallest bit. But that was enough for Brant. Brant fired an arrow directly at the back of the skeletons knee joint, effectively locking it up, on a human opponent this would be impossible, but luckily the skeleton was...A skeleton, the arrow got locked in between the two bones. |

Castepolis immediately dropped down to one side as the arrow buried itself into his knee socket, and made the first and only mistake he would ever make. He turned his head over to look at Brant... Which was a bad move. With a powerful upwards slash, making the most of the moment, Nero's blade collided rather powerfully with the base of Castepolis' helmet; it sent it flying over the other side of the room with a couple of clinks, before it settled below a lantern. "You cowards," the skeleton hissed, now looking at the ceiling. "It took both of you to beat me? Both of you are pieces of shi-" However he was interrupted by Nero, who brought is sword sharply down, splitting the skeleton's skull in two. The green fire in his eyes dissipated slightly and the skeleton fell down with a clatter. As well as this, his large green sword simply melted away and sort of sank into the floor. "I could've beaten you one handed." Nero said o the now pile of bones. "I just chose not to." |

Brant stood from his one-knee crouch and walked over to Nero, despite the fact that thus far Nero had caused most...All of the trouble the two had gotten into, Brant's face showed a similarity to happiness. He extended his hand to Nero, as if to shake it "We work well together." was all he said. |

Nero smirked and took the boy's offered handshake. "As well as a kid and a vampire can in a Dungeon full of zombies." He remarked coldly, before turning around and walking over to where the hilt of what used to be Castepolis sword lay on the ground. "Damn it," he muttered. "I liked that sword. It held some dark power in it... And it was also a pretty awesome sword." With another sigh he simply made his way over to the door and motioned for Brant to follow. |

While Nero was inspecting the sword hilt Brant recovered all the arrows that he could, including the one stuck in the skeletons knee. Then he followed Nero over to the door, but before Nero could open it, Brant put forth a quick question "What was down that other hallway anyhow?" |
