| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The cemetery. It harboured no good feeling from Nero as he made is way through the area. The last time he had visited it he had met some zombie kid, a vampire, and a wolf guy thing, and had been rather painfully beaten up by the vampire... But this time he was alone. There was no reason in particular for the man to be there, he just simply was. His exploration had got him to that point and he had decided to go and look around the ruins. But mainly, he wanted to see the apparent 'living dead' that inhabited the cemetery apparently... He himself was a prime example of the undead, but he wanted to see them in the wild. |

Brant entered the cemetery carefully, his bow was already strung and an arrow knocked. He was exploring the cemetery simply because...He had no true reason, he merely desired to. Although he had heard rumors about the undead here, he still wanted too. He also heard that a well placed shot to the head could take care of them. Well...Most of them. He only hoped he didn't run into any of the high class ones. |

Nero began to whistle loudly as he continued meandering around the seemingly endless and featureless rows of the cemetery. Every now and again he would come across an interesting tombstone and would stop momentarily to take a look, but other than that it was relatively boring and deafeningly quiet. Just as a cemetery was supposed to be. He was attempting to try and catch the attention of anything in the cemetery... Living or dead. It was apparent if they were able to whistle different tunes every so often that they were either an intelligent dead or alive. |

Brant stepped behind a grave, seeing a shape off in the distance, he had only encountered two "zombies" and neither of them were much of a challenge, then again neither of them were close enough to notice Brant before he loosed the arrow either. Brant was just about to release the bow string when the shape approached close enough for Brant to here a whistling noise. Brant eased his bow string back slowly, and stood up even more slowly, and approached the shape quietly. |

After a relatively short while of simply walking and whistling, Nero had started to get mildly bored. He hadn't encountered any zombies or anything other than the occasional rat which he could see scurry away after noticing his presence. Maybe he should have tried singing? He seemed like a good idea to the vampire... So without any delay, he readied himself and began to serenade the cemetery. "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do~ Two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one~ Ooooh~" |

Brant heard the song and stood upright placing the arrow into the quiver hanging on his back and holding the bow at his side. He asked a question, loud enouugh for the other to hear, but not loud enough to attract attention. "ho are you and why are you here?" Brant asked the question in complete calm, simply because he thought he had nothing to fear from an undead, or maybe even still alive person with enough brain capacity to sing. |

"No is the saddest experience, you'll ever know~ Yes it's the saddest experience you'll ever know~ 'cause one is the loneliest num-" Nero's singing was immediately cut short by a question which had come from a distance not too far away off to his right. Within a second or so, Nero had drawn his sword and was pointing it in the general direction of where the newcomer had spoken from. "It's polite to show yourself before you try to make introductions is it not?" Nero posed the question calmly, but he was ready to kill at any moment. |

Brant thought he recognized the shape of a sword, even through the dense mist. He stepped forward a until he could see the mans features clearly, and so it seemed obvious that the man could see Brant as well. "My name, is Brant" He let his guard down, because the mans voice gave him a false sense of security, such is the way of the young. |

Nero was slightly surprised as the figure who introduced himself as 'Brant' turned out to be a mere child... A human child. The fact of the matter was if Nero hadn't fed on a group of two merchants he had met on way there he would have killed and drunk from that boy as soon as he had laid eyes upon him. Alas, it seemed Fate shone upon him, and Nero wasn't really in the mood to get blood on him at that moment in time. "I see, Brant," Nero said, calmly sheathing his sword. "You may call me Nero, or God. Whichever you wish." |

"God? Thats a fairly...large, ego you have." Brant spoke calmly again, but now he felt oddly tense, hunter instincts had taught him to know when something, or someone was watching him, it was almost as if he could feel the eyes of a predator on his back...But again, hunting instincts had also taught him when the time was right to strike out,and now was not the time, and so he waited. |

"And you're pretty brave to make a comment such as that," Nero said playfully as he began to play with the hilt of his sword. "Or it could be stupidity?" He grinned slightly, and surprisingly held out a hand for the boy to shake instead of doing anything. "Introductions have to be formal, else they aren't introductions at all..." For now the vampire would allow the boy to live; but he was still going to play around. |

Brant reached out and shook the mans hand, again he felt an apprehension forming in his stomach, but this time it was coming from the man whose hand he was shaking, not from the surrounding environment. "As I said before, my name is Brant, and it is a pleasure to meet you." A sound, a small sound, a shuffling, the sound of a zombie, but it was still a ways off, no need for worry now. |

As the boy took the man's hand, he would notice that his shake was limp and his glazed-over eyes were staring behind Brant rather than at him, as if he had seen something out of the ordinary but couldn't quite make it out. He had seen something. A dark figure flit through the dark mist. He was positive. He had a feeling of slight apprehension in his stomach, but as he released Brant's hand, he turned and looked behind him. That way was clear... So what was it? Clucking his tongue in annoyance (which was becoming a habit for the vampire), Nero put his hand ready on his sword, and looked back at Brant, this time his smirk and normal piercing gaze returned. "So, a bunch of zombies or a vampire?" Nero crooned. "Choose your enemy wisely." |

A vampire? just like...He kept his eyes level with the other mans "If I could choose, I would much rather fight neither, but...If your a vampire, then I don't have much choice do I?" Brant closed his eyes and listened closely, the walking was fading away, it appeared as though the zombie hadn't discovered the twos presence. Brant kept that in mind, maybe they had a hard time noticing movement? |

As soon as the vampire saw the boy close his eyes, the vampire took a silent step forward and put his head close to the boy's as he was listening closely. "BOO!" Suddenly, he shouted as loud as he could right into the boy's ear. Hopefully, it was attract the attention of whatever was watching them if it hadn't already noticed and it would sure as hell give the boy a fright... He sure was in a good mood. Maybe it was the Cemetery? |
