| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Mirage had never been cascadia, although she had heard many stories about it. The great city that floated in the air, the city that had many water falls falling from its base. Like a great castle lost to the sky it was a majestic city that mirage fell in love with. She had only just arrived about five hours ago and was already roaming the streets looking at all the places to stop and enjoy herself. Many people walked around, passing her by with smiles and waves, it was all so nice. It seemed that most of the people here had wings or some sort of avian transportation, but why they wouldn’t; it was a floating city after all! However Mirage was a little lost, she had no clue where exactly she was and she knew no one. The city was exotic and new, full of strange things that just filled her with excitement. There were many places she wanted to go see that she heard of. Like the great statue and the many taverns in this place. Oh just the thought of all the fun she would have here made her smile. Her light transparent wings fluttered back and forth with joy also. Mirage looked so cute in her green tunic and her bright pink magic socks. She never wore shoes, only the warm comfort of her socks! She bore on, walking from street to street, waving at the many strangers that passed her by. She was lonely though, and wanted to meet some new folk. So she headed for what looked like a city square, full of benches bushes and even a fountain. Taking a seat on one of the local benches she crossed her legs and began to play with her hair, just watching the many beings of cascadia. Hoping that someone would see her by herself and come to keep her company. |

''I don't understand it!'' Deavon was, feet in the pool of the fountain, sitting and looking in his, well not his, his master, deceased, but who cares, Spellbook. He was having hard time understanding. The spell should have worked. He would have saved Toggorth from that Drow priestess. If only he was not so imcompetant and unlucky. He sighed and turned around and sighed. The tiefling got out of the fountain, put his socks and boots on. He got here this morning also, paying the ride with the crystal the drows in Menzoberranzan wanted for their ultimate ritual spell or something of the sort to the rider. Of course it looked like any crystal with a magical enchantement. A purple crystal with dark clouds rolling in it. How could it be dangerous? It's not like the guard was a drow, or knew how to use it, right? Unless it was a drow with a shapeshifter spell, an evil Archmage in disguise who use some divination spell to locate that crystal. He thougth about it, and it was possible, but highly unusual. There was 0,467%. So rounded up, it was 1%! Wow, risky. With his mind in his own conspirated world, the factotum did not spotted the fairy as he decided to sit on the bench.... |

Mirage’s attention was not focused on anything or anyone, her gaze was located at on of the many bright buildings in the city square she was sitting at. Her mind was going in and out, thinking of many things just to get her mind doing something. Sure the city was great and wonderful, but she was bored and lonely, nothing to do. After all mirage did not know where she was, who these people were or even what was going on. All the people seemed busy and eager to go about the day’s activities but she, no she was going to just sit there alone. Suddenly a strange man walked up and sat on the other end of the bench. He also did not seem to be focused on much, his mind off somewhere also. It took a moment for her to notice he had taken seat next to her. The moving of the bench was not enough. Her bright people hair ruffled past her cheeks as the wind picked up a bit and sent her eyes in the direction of the fellow. She saw him just sitting there and thought the time was right to introduce her. Sliding over gently she had a wide smile. Hello there. Her voice was quiet and whisper like, she did no0t want to bother him if he did not like being bothered. |

Luckily for him, he did not sat on the poor little fairy who was next to him. For a few seconds he was in his minds, trying to figure out, how his spells failed. Perhaps he could ask someone in high knowledge of magic, like an Archmage? Or perhaps, a Dragon.... Too dangerous. A lich? Way...too risky. A elemental? Right, he would have to summon one or get into their planes. Hmhm, with the control of magic like he had, he would be stuck in the plane of fire.... What else.... Then a cute girl came at him, hm? D ragonfly like wings? Human size? Cute too. He smiled at her, his tail waving. He was indeed happy. ''Hey there, Nice afternoon is it not?'' She was a a child of fey, innate with magical abilites. It was perfect! And also she was beautiful. People often talked about weather to start to talk and know the other better. If she had something to ask, she would ask. If not, they would keep talking. No that it bothered him, he enjoyed talking. And even more with cute girls.... Living cute girls even more. |

The man next to her seemed to be thinking, lost deep in thought in his own mind. She was worried that she had bothered him as soon as the words left her mouth. She was all about being polite and respecting the space of others. If this man wished to be left alone she would. But bordem and lonelyness drove her to cross that line. So as he turned and acknowleged her she put on a nice big smile. Why yes, today is a wonderful day isnt it. Sorry to bother you but you looked as if you could use some help. Im new to the area and am not sure how mush use i can be, but im always up for helping a stranger. Now she was afraid she had come on to strong, like she was pushing her presence on the man. All she wanted was to help, and find something to do in the process. Smiling up at the man she added her name in. Im mirage by the way. You are? Mirage was not very good with strangers, and got shy sometimes right in the middle of conversation. She tried hard not to talk real fast or slur her words. In the end everything seemed fine, but to her it was as if she had screwed it all up and the man would bust out laughing at her. |

Deavon was surprised, she was straigth to the point, and seemed eager to help him. A fey helping one with the demonic blood... It was almost as good as if a celestial greeted him welcome in his own home. His eyes widened and were filled with sparkles. He could get a better understanding at magic? Well perhaps, only maybe. He looked a bit shy to ask that, he wanted to ask her later, when he could call her a friend. After, magic essence of fey were intimate matter, in the eyes of the factotum. His cheeks became red and his eyes went back to normal... He took some of his guts to say it. ''Well, since you asked....COULDYA TEACH MEH MAGICAL STUFF?'' Now he overdid it. All his words scrambled into his mouth and his voice got some volume with the words striking on this tongue. He know he had looked ridiculous. He smiled with all his teeth in a way to say sorry for the burst out. She was nice, but with with Deavon's lack of common sense, her patience would be in for some rough time. He scratched the back of his head. ''Aww...I screwed up...again....'' |

At first Mirage thought the man would ignore her and try and pass her off. He turned and the first few words made it seem like he was shy and afraid to talk to her, but that was soon seen not to be the case. In a loud, some what rude tone he asked if she could teach him some magical stuff. As he said it it occured to him that he had screwed up and was now punishing himself. She coul dno thelp it, a small giggle escaped from her mouth causing her to place her hand over her mouth. Im sorry, and sure i can teach you some magical stuff. But im not all that great myself, im still young and new in the art myself. she blushed a little, the red color playing off her pale purple skin, she smiled and scooted over a bit then stood up and pointed for him to get up also. Well mister, if you wanna learn then you gotta stand. She chuckled as she smoothed out her dress and took out her wand. |

((Sorry, wrong account! xD)) He could not help but smile when seeing her blush. IT was such a cutie, he could not resist. So she was a starter too, well, she was gifted to be in the best races to use arcana as pure energy. It was a part of her lifeblood. If she had no magic in her, she could die. Or so did the tiefling studies. Thus why they were recovering their mana faster then most races. Dragons simply had a colossal amount of mana. Nothing to do with fairies. So he did like he was ask, he stood up. ''Please, don't call me mister, the name's Deavon. Please to meet you Mirage. Really nice name by the way.'' He winked cockily at her. Both his dark-red eyes staring at her, he rose his spellbook and took a weird casting position with his book in hands. Imagine, a karate-ka, in offensive stance but with a book in the hand closest to it's foe. That was the stance he had. ''I'm ready when you are, Mirage-sensai.'' He was excited to see what he could learn out of her. And how friendly he could get with her. The friendship was the most interesting part to him, but he would not say no to magic. Taugth by such a cute little one. |

Deavon was funny and a little cute. He tried to stand and took out a spell book, then took a very weird and aweful looking pose with the book in one hand. Mirage placed her hand to her mouth and giggled again, she did not want to hurt his feelings, but he was funny. Her intentions were not to make fun of him, but she just thought he looked so funny trying to do magic like he was. She brushed off her dress and took out her wand. Ok, first off what is what that pose, we art doing karate you know. Hehehe its ok, here stand the most comfortable way you can, just be yourself. She stood with her left foot in front, and her right foot slightly behind her. Taking her wan din the left hand she pointed it at the bush of roses next to her. Magic takes concetration. You need to feel comfortable with your self and just feel it inside you, let it take over as you do the spell. She took out her spell book and wisphered one of the incantations. A small orb of frozen ice emitted itself from the tip of the wand and chilled the rose bush, turning each of the flowers to solid ice. See, its all about compossure and the will to do the spell. you try it there on that second bush. Focus, get comfortable and go at it. She smiled and stood back, allowing him room to do the spell he had in mind. She was having a little fun, and was glad she had finally met someone new. |

[/B]Deavon kept his smile on as she giggled, he jnew he was looking a bit strange, but that was who he was. He was proud to not be like anyone else, and if someone liked him that way, that was worth any gold in Imythess. Though, any postions were fit for factotum. It was not really magic, but more, using the key words and making the good mimic. If you are not good at Tango, and seen everyone did it, you just do what you remember and you seem to be good enough at Tango. That was the factotum ways. The other things it was were, it could use any positions in a party. If the cleric was out, a factotum could heal, if a warrior was ill, a factotum could tank a few rounds, if the mage had not prepared acid spells for trolls, the factotum would had it, if the rogue was trapped, a factotum could disable that trap. All those roles were everlasting. He had to switch between them. He rose his free hand, got his feet to shoulder distance. He mumbled a few words and then yelled his spell.''Charm!''Well, he thougth it could work since the tip was a good one. But his hand had lowered to Mirage, white of energy. She could feel a warmth inside of her, trying to take care of her. But Deavon wanted to charm her so he would have a long lasting friend. Tieflings lived a bit more longer then human, and so did, but by much more, the feys. He was a bit disapointed to see the spell was still not the good one. He lowered his head, and shook it. ''Sorry, it's...Well, you see now that my spells are the problems, they do not obey my will....Guess my wil is too random, even for me... |

Yet again mirage giggled but tried not to show it. It was funny a little, but not in a bad make fun of him kind of way. He was trying so hard to master spell casting, and well he wasnt really having good luck at the moment. She felt bad for him, she could see that he was giving it his all. She wished her mother was still here, she would have been able to help poor deavon. Because she was not able to, her magic abilities were not enough to teach, she could barely make a good fighter not to mention a mentor. So as he tried the spell and failed, she frowned and took a seat on the bench. Im sorry deavon, im sorry i cant help you like you need. Truth is im just not that good myself, and well i dont want you to get even worse cause of my bad teachings. Her face looked like a sad childs, like it had failed at something so simple yet so hard to do. She threw her wan don the ground and looked back up at deavon. Maybe we both should give up on magic. Or you should find a better teacher. Im sorry deavon. She moved her head down and looked into her lap, as if she had failed him. |

Deavon looked at her giving up. Giving up? On magic? He went to her, he looked stunned. She could not, she did not had the right to! A fairy saying no to magic? It was unthinkable. He tied his spellbook back on the chain at his waist and walked up to her, placing both hands on her shoulders. ''Come on, you can't do so? It would like be, a river without water, sky without stars, kids without parents, sun without light, life without love, me without....'' He was about to say ''you.'' but he was simply too attached of the way of having friends. That would simply be too odd for a frist time. But he had to admit, he was feeling at ease with her. ''...my luck.'' He hugged her and took the wand lying on the floor and give it back. He kept his smile on. After all, simplest joy were the better.''So, instead, let's go to the inn and chat a bit. I'd like to know more about you and all.'' He stood up and raised her chin. He tilted his head to the side and closed his eyes giving a wide and warm smile. ''And 'sides, your cuter smiling. So if i make you laugh or giggle, don't be shy. I know i'm weirder then most but hey! Being ''normal'' is boring!'' He laughed at himself. Well, it was true, how could someone attracts attention without doing anything out of the ordinary? How heroes are made out? Killing a dragon is out of the ordinary. Deavon was simply not able to follow the laws. But it didn't meant that he was a bad person. |

At first she thought the man was going to turn, walk away and leave her there. I mean why would any one want to stay with a fairy who sucked at magic. all deavon wanted was to learn a little magic and get some help. But mirage could not help him and she felt bad about that. Her being a fairy, and not able to teach simple magic, she was a failure. But deavon did what she did not expect. He picked up her wand and handed to her. Then sat beside her and tried to comfort her. His suggsetion was that they go to one of the local inns and get to know each other. you kno what, i woul dlove that. im getting a little hungery to. She smiled and looked up to deavon. He made her happy, even though they had just met. She never had many friends, and to meet one after just arriving in the city, it was amazing. She was still a little disappointed about not being able to help him, but she was glad he took no offence to it and still wanted to be around her. Standing up she took on a more happy attitude. so where would you like to go? im new to the city so i have no clue where anything is. you might need to help me around. with a big smile sh egrabbed his hand and stood him up, placing her wand back on her side. |

Deavon's stomach roared at the moment Mirage mentionned she was hungry. He did not remembered last he had took a bite on something. He put his hand on his belly and laughed a bit. The growling was one that could be compared to a starving beast. Though, he was happy she was smiling at him, a little complicity was between the two of them, even though they just met. It was neither roamance, just something telling them that they were well getting along. Complicity was needed in a lot of relationship, but along with this complicity came trust. Deavon,s face turned red wehn the half-fairy took his hand. He had a strange feeling, butterflies in his belly. What was happening? His hunger diminished, though he wanted to make her happy and to help her. So he walked, his hand holding hers since he got up.''Mmmmh, i got an idea, trust me. You'll like it.'' He headed towars the closest inn. After all, he had spotted it when he looked around in the city. So he opened the door and people strangely looked at him, tieflings. Race of evil, spawn of the devils. No one trusted them. The glare in their eyes made Deavon's happiness to Slowly fade away. |

Mirage laughed and giggled a little as they walked. Her sadness for not being able to teach deavon had gone away for the most part. He ad cheered her up and made her happier, which was a good thing, for she hated being sad. Turning to him she smiled and sort of squinted her eyes, trying to be playful. They walked up to a tavern that mirage had seen before, when she first entered the city. Deavon said he had a surprise for her, and she was ready to see what it was. As he opened the door for her, she walked in and looked out over the crowd in the tavern. There was a varity of races here in the inn, most of the guest being creatures with wings. It seemed more winged people visted the city because of the easy access. But mirage did not care who was there, as long as deavon stayed with her for the rest of the day. Turning to face him she spoke. So where shall we sit? It doesn’t really matter to me. |
