Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

"And I'll survive; paranoid.
I have lost the will to change,
And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fate,
I will shut the world away."

Name: Elixe

Race: Unknown
Gender: Male
Age: 18, Immortal

Class: Assassin
Alignment: Lawful Evil
[Forced to be lawful due to his curse]
1st Element: Darkness
2nd Element: Death

Eyes: Silvery White
[Changes shades with emotions, and catlike even]
Hair: Black [was silver, but dyed it black]
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 134lbs.

Appearance
Elixe, though not very tall and quite thin, his smaller size allows him to move quicker which is needed for his job, usually. His skin is soft and has a pale tint to it, most likely because of his living for centuries, and from always hiding away in a dark room where he lives, or lived, few scars litter his body, mostly on his back, where old scars lay that could have been from being beaten and whipped. Though not very well muscled, he isn't weak, but he relies more on speed and stealth then strength. He looks human, but no one was ever sure what he was, but he didn't have pointed ears, so being a elf was quickly dismissed. Not even he knows himself what he was. But no matter how many years go by, he never ages, since that day he's looked no more then eighteen years of age.

With silvery gray/white hair falls just below his ears, cut evenly all around his head, therefore it often falls over his eyes. His hair looked like it used to be a different color altogether, but due to living for a long time has turned it to another shade. Gray eyes look out, dark and menacing, rarely showing anything else. These eyes seem to show a difference to his not being human, as they often change from looking normal, then his pupils changing into slits, much like a cats, and the color around them, usually gray, changes colors, different shade, from white, to gray, to dark gray, and then even to black, often changing with his mood, but usually always looking dark.

He doesn't really care what he wears, as long as it isn't bright, and would often complain about bright things hurting his eyes too much, yet those excuses always seem to fail when he is ordered to wear something other then his usual dark clothes. His wardrobe usually only consists of black coats with two white cuffs on one sleeve, lighter gray shirts, sometimes stripped, and black trousers, and oddly, lighter near white boots that reach to his knees with gray laces.

There's a faded mark on the nape of his neck, that once could have been a brand, but is barely noticeable now after long years.

Personality
He is cruel, in the way he wouldn't care to let some innocent person die if they got in the way, or wouldn't even care if he had to kill them if they got in the way of his work. He doesn't like people, and because of that, will be cold to them also, with insults and glares. Yet with this already dark personality, he's cool, and very capable of keeping calm in terrible situations, though, that's becuase he doesn't give a damn about anything.

Elixe is extremely quick to anger, even towards his master, because he hates everyone, their stupidity angers him, yet their foolish acts have always amused him. he despising pretty much anything around him, the only things he does like are his weapons, blood, and the odd tiara crown he always has somewhere on his person, but those aren't living things, actual living people annoy him the most, anything living annoys him, maybe it's becuase they don't live forever, at some point in life they were going to die.

And he was jealous for knowing that.

Through his anger and cold shell, he seems sad and depressed. He's lived for so long, and unable to die. He's even known to attempt suicide every once in a while, but he always lives, unable to die, another thing that brings out the anger in him.

This side came from the curse, whether he was loyal in his life before his memory got erased, he doesn't know. If he didn't have this curse, for all he knows, he would probably betray people left and right, but because he is cursed, he can't help but fall to his knees and bow and follow every single order thrown at him. Any thoughts of betraying his master was just a thought barely at arms reach, a dream that would never come true.

Deep inside, he is kind, even gentle, but after years of being a slave, this part of him has been slowly dying. What point is there to be kind when it won't even matter? He's even forgetting how to be friendly, cheerful and kind, it's all just a dream.

Feats
Alertness

Skills
Acrobatics - - Master
Escape Artist - - Journeyman
Athletics - - Adept
Stealth - - Adept
Blade - - Apprentice
Two-Weapon Fighting - - Apprentice

Flaws
Amnesia;
Elixe cannot remember his past. He woke up one day in a tower that barely had anything, with a ceiling that was falling apart. In the tower, a king stood, who explained to him, that he was forever to serve his family, never being told what his crime had been to deserve such a punishment. That was hundreds of years ago.

Curse, Major;
Elixe is forever cursed to serve a royal family. He can never get out of it, until the entire royal bloodline dies, that even means the very, very, very distantly related to the royal line he serves, therefore, was also cursed with immortality, he can never die, he's been "killed", he's even attempted suicide, but he just keeps coming back to life.

Cruel;
Through his years of nothing but being used for killing or torturing others, he's gotten a cruel streak, and just with his hatred for the people who've enslaved him, has caused this part of him to show more.

Dislike of Nobility;
Since he serves a royal bloodline, unable to do anything but comply and be ordered around for the last couple centuries, its only natural he despises nobles.

Overconfident;
For being immortal, and dying several times and yet able to come back, and given him a overconfident feeling to life. He can't lose, because he can't die, as he often says.

Bad Reputation;
Though his entire existence was shrouded in darkness and he no one ever knew of him, being locked away like an animal, but one of his masters had started a business almost, people paid him, and Elixe did the dirty work. Those who did know of the servants life, terrified them.

Hot-headed;
Only because he's been alive (if you call this living) for a long, long time, he has grown to be a very angry person who gets annoyed at pretty much anything.

Reckless;
Pretty much the same as being overconfident. Since he has it in his head that he can't die (and has tested that several times every year to see if the curse still works) therefore he won't hesitate to do something stupid that will most likely get him hurt (is also slightly masochistic, even though pain only reminds him that he's still living which annoys the hell out of him).

History
Before
Xero Katis was his real name before his memory was erased, at least, that was the name he was given. Before, he was nothing more then a farm boy. Raised on a farm where he would watch his father worked in the fields, and on occasion help out. But when he was a child, he was always sick, and always fragile, that he couldn't work very much. Even the sun seemed to hurt him when he stepped out in it.

For most of his childhood he was to stay in bed. Luckily his mother had taught him how to read and write, so while he sat in bed, he would read and write stories. His father had disapproved of it, but what else were they to do with a sickly child.

When he was older, 11 years old, he found out he was really just an orphan boy, found on the farmer's doorstep one morning. No one knew where this boy had come from, but they couldn't have left him there and so they had raised him as his own, but now he understood why he seemed like a outcast in their family, why his father, adoptive father didn't like him much.

When he found this out, he distanced himself more from his family, but his adoptive mother was still friendly to him, but when he was in his room, they never bugged him unless it was to bring him breakfest, lunch or dinner. He rarely even talked with his family, and after his adoptive parents had a child of their own, he barely even said one word to them as the days wore on.

On his sixteenth birthday, he wandered from the house just before dawn, with his little brother, Shiou. Everyone was in a frantic when they realized he and Shiou were gone, but no one knew where Xero had gone with the five year old. Even after taking care of Xero for fifteen years, they still didn't trust the strange boy, who had dark eyes that resembled a cats and raven black hair.

But neither did Xero know where he was going with Shiou. He felt like a different person, he couldn't control his actions, in fact, he didn't even remember what happened that day. The moment the sun appeared over the horizon, his mind went blank, and it was like he was unconscious, for after that day he had no recollection of what had happened.

The next thing he knew, it was after sunset. Shiou was nowhere to be found. For hours he looked for his little brother, and when he found him, he was traumatized at what he saw.

On a stone slab that looked like it served as a alter, was his brother, laying on it, pale and cold, a wicked looking dagger stabbed through his heart.

Behind the alter was a cave, and a dark cloaked figure was limping out, claws like hands weaving through the dark air. Candles lit all around the alter. He wanted to run, but he couldn't move. Following the limping dark figure, another person walked behind, also swathed in black cloth. This figure came over to him and removed the cloak covering its face, revealing a woman, who had the same type of eyes as Xero.

She said she was his sister.

But that was all he remembered from that night.

The next day he woke up in dungeon, where there was no window. His arms above his head, cuffs dug into his wrists, the chains hanging from the wall above him. He didn't know why he was there, or who the woman had been from before, or what had happened from that night, but he was terrified.

He soon found out he was in the village dungeons, the head guard came in and told Xero that he was being accused of killing Shiou. They had found him just outside the village, mutilated and most of his organs missing, and Xero had been standing over him, with a bloodied knife in hand. But he didn't remember doing any of that!

No one would listen to him.

His execution date was set.

That day came too quick.

The villagers had set up a platform with a noose and everything, where he was to hang until death took him.

Xero Katis died that day just before the sun set. He was buried the next day in the local graveyard, a grave with no tombstone and no name. No one would remember him. He would be forgotten and his name will never be spoken ever again. It was like he had never even lived there for the past sixteen years.

. . .

Darkness. That was what greeted him when his eyes opened. Complete darkness. And suffocation. He could barely breath, and he was trapped. Wooden walls on all sides. He was panicking, he didn't know what was going on. He needed to breath, he wanted out. He banged against the wood above him, but he was too weak.

Soon unconsciousness took him, and he was sure he was going to die. But he woke up shortly after, to the box he was in jostled, and through a small crack in the wood, he was sure he could see light.

Someone had pried the top of the coffin off, and he sat up, taking a gasping breath in. Finally he was out, free from that hell. But the sight that greeted him, didn't ease him. It was Shiou.

But he didn't look dead, he was very much alive, not even a scratch on him. Standing behind him were the two cloaked figures, one that was said to be his sister. Who the other one was, he didn't know.

He demanded to know what was going on. He was supposed to be dead, they both were. Xero had been hung, and Shiou... was supposedly mutilated and missing a few organs, and he had even seen Shiou with a dagger stuck through his heart, and yet, here he was. here they both were. Alive and well.

His supposed "sister" told him that they made him immortal, that was why he had come back, they had even made his brother immortal.

It had been too much to take it, and they didn't explain why they did that to him, well, he didn't stay around to find out. He was scared. He ran away. He kept running and didn't stop for a long time. He left the village and the entire country even. He had to get away from there.

That's how his last two years. Running. During those years he changed very little, until he was eighteen, his aging stopped completely.

But he never stopped running, he would stay the night at one place, and start moving the next day. He couldn't stop moving, if he stopped for a moment to think, he would get nightmares. It scared him. Eventually in his last year, he took on jobs. He became a killer, a assassin. Killing for money, and he didn't even feel guilty about it. If he failed and got killed himself, it didn't matter, he just kept coming back.

There were several times during those long two years where he's tried to kill himself multiple times, over and over again, but it wouldn't come, death rejected him every time.

He took on one job, that changed his entire life from that point. He was to kill a whole family, a high noble family. He went to their manor, he killed the guards, the servants, anyone who came his way, and he felt nothing as his blades slid so easily through their soft flesh, as their blood ran down his blade. Emotionless eyes enough to make a man start to shake in fear bore into his victims.

He even killed the children. He killed the mother, and the father. He was to end that noble family right there, and so far succeeded, but one of the children were missing. He was going in search of the child.

He easily found the missing boy, one of his sharp blades about to cut the child in half, but before he could, a sheering pain cut through his head, making him drop his weapons and fall to his knees. Before he fell unconscious, he caught a glimpse of dark robed figures behind the young prince that he was to kill.

But the darkness quickly took him again. . .

After
Gray eyes opened, staring at a old rotting ceiling above him. When he sat up, and looked around his surroundings, it appeared that he was in a circular type room, and a tower at that. He was sitting on a bed. There was barely any furniture, and the little there was, was rotting away. Standing in the doorway to the tower, was a young man, wearing elegant clothes and a crown on his head.

He stood up, long hair falling around his shoulders as he stood. He stumbled at first, like he hadn't stood in ages. He stared at the other man who was watching him coldly.

"Bow. Your a slave. Slaves always bow before their masters." The man in elegant clothes said, his voice just as cold as his eyes showed.

And unable to do anything but obey, the gray eyed man fell to his knees, head bowing, long hair falling around his face. He didn't know who this man was. And now that he thought about it, he didn't know who he, himself was, and he didn't know why he felt like he had to obey so submissively.

"Your name is Elixe now. And you will serve my family for longer then eternity."

And so, Elixe was born, and he will only serve forever, that was, is his only purpose in life, to serve this royal bloodline until the very last person of that family dies. If one of his master's die, he has to find a new one. His king and master told him this that dark day, in the tower that would be his home for many years to come.

He had no freewill of his own, he only knew obedience. But even through these long years that drag on of taking orders, and killing, and doing anything asked of him, he despised it, he hated it, he hated everything, it didn't take long for him to hate the entire world, believing it was all like this hell he lived through every day.

There became a way of things how this happened, when his king had a child, and when that child turned sixteen, they learned the secret of their personal servant, Elixe. And when his master dies, Elixe serves the heir who was told of him when at sixteen and this routine went on through generations.

There was one time, when his misery of being nothing more then a slave was lightened, even if for such a brief moment.

One of his masters had a daughter, she was the only heir, and her sixteenth birthday was coming up. His master told Elixe that he was going to tell his daughter of their servant.

When Elixe came before the girl that would one day be his master, he felt fascinated. It wasn't love, no, he didn't know the emotion love, and doubt he would ever, but the girl Lilian seemed to love him, despite his intimidating appearance.

Although he didn't love the girl, he still told her he did when they kissed or shared a bed. But of course, Lilian told no one of her relationship with the slave, even when she got married, even as her father died and Elixe became her servant, even when she had a child. Their relationship lasted for quite a few years, until Lilian was assassinated.

And Elixe was once again passed around like nothing more then a possession.

The more the years wore on, he never changed beside his heart becoming like ice, he even started insulting his masters, even though he was forced to do everything they told him too, and usually when he snapped back, he was beaten, he was beaten more times then anyone could talk, and even to this day the scars still lay upon his flesh. His hair also changed, his once raven black hair changed to a silvery white, and when it was once long, he chopped it all off, and decided to keep it short for a while.

His eyes were the only thing that didn't change.

Elixe never liked any of his master. They all treated him the same, there wasn't one that treated him differently. The only people that did treat him differently were the other servants, but even then, they were terrified of him, that, or they had no idea he even existed. No one besides the royal family knew of him, well, not even all of the family knew of this personal slave that was cursed to serve them.

Eventually as the years continued to pass, the nobles forgot why Elixe was cursed to serve their family. And Elixe never knew what he did to deserve such a punishment in the first place. No one cared any longer why he was to serve them, they only thought it was just convenient to have him serving them without question.

His latest master, Einon Dezzon, who was like the rest of his masters, died from some illness. After he had died, Elixe was lost, he didn't know what to do, he had no master to turn to for immediate obedience. Only once had he had to deal with a situation like this before, but that was long ago.

So, following instincts, he followed a road, and kept following it, barely even stopping to rest or eat, until he found his new master and lord in Kellen.

Prince Adastros Leander.
