Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Prsitine beautiful water, or at least it was until Vernon touched it. Upon vernpn's Very touch the clear pure ware that seemed to make up the staff began to suddenly change. The corruption of the water spread out from place vernon grasped the staff fairly quickly. Vernon wasn't fond of playing with staves but the display and description were enough to amuse Vernon, though water spells weren't entirly his Forte either. He only knew a few, but they gathered enough effect. He might have to try and get some further work done on the weapon later to make it more appealing. It did give Vernon more than an idea for the intiation test.

"Good thinking Sain. This will certainly make up for not bringing them rotted. The wench wouldn't have been able to use it anyways," Vernon grinned. He wanted to try and not seem so pleased with the object, put there was a certain giddiness about receiving a new toy to play with.

The Sliegh wove through the trees speedily and came to settle behind Vernon. Beneath it the bats stirred anxiously, eager to get on the move again. "We will begin elsewhere in the marsh. But for now you said Yaksha had children. What do you know of them?" Vernon asked asked as he climbed into the sliegh Breaking the half-demons heart was certainly more rewarding than breaking his soul. It was possible Sain had some compassion for kin, but he'd already said enough to put the brats in danger.

Lucky for Vernon and unluckily for Yaksha, Sain held to love for any of the members of his family, especially Yaksha. When Vernon asked about Yak's kids the giddiness at the thought of torture was evident on Sain's face. He stepped into the Sleigh and began to talk.

"He has two children from what I recall though he may have more. Aregnor is one of them, he's the older of them and he hates Yaksha from what I hear. Then there is his daughter Dawn, oh how it would break my poor brother's heart to see Dawn in distress. I think it would be the death of him" Sain smiled a nasty smile at that thought.

"But you mentioned before having injured Seth? Let me tell you what I know there as well. Seth has two kids as well though I only know the name of one, Cassiel. Here's the juicy part, he's getting married to my sort of brother Nikkolai. Their house is in Cassacadia, Villa Tertius. Its a large house, simple, but large. I think it would be fun if their wedding got some uninvited guests".

Vernon was pleased to see that Sain was as amused by the idea of playing with the children as Vernon was. "Hmmm... I will have to figure out what to do with the children later. The loss of both of them could have most amusing effects on the pig-headed bloke," Vernon replied while scratching at the fur under his chin while the Sleigh took off.

"I already killed Seth's little girl. Doing so again would be less amusing. As for the Wedding, let the freaks have their own special little day. There will be a score of goody-two-shoes in attendance, they can't all be in two places at once if you catch my drift. A wrecked home would make for a lovely wedding gift," Vernon snickered. It wasn't long before murky water was visible beneath them. As the water deepened the trees became more and more sparse.

The sleigh came to a halt and hovered in the air a good 15-20 feet above the water's surface. "Anything else juicy before we get started?" Vernon asked as he rummaged through his bag.

"Thats where you are wrong my master, I heard on the wind that Seth has lost the power to bring people back from death. Killing her again...will have a profound effect on the man who gave up his power as an apostle" his smile twisted sickly. This was the real Sain, no more hiding becide the facade of being a good little boy. He was a nihlist at heart, everyone and everything needed to die in this world. Of course this man/rat was allowed a great deal of respect so Sain saw that in the dead world he would rule as king.

"So Vernon what do you have in mind as my test?" he asked him with a tilt of his head. Oh and since all facades were gone...

Sain's skin burned away reveal onyx black skin underneath. The slceri of his eyes turned black and his pupils turned white. His clothing changed entirely, black leather pants withg a white leather jacket and snakeskin boots. His hair lengthened to reach to his arse and turned pink and white. This was Sain's true and original form.

"You may refer to me as ether Sain or Hadesfiel, my true name, Hadesfiel Radkasha".

Curious. Seth did not seem the sort to give up the power to aid others. It was possible this information was false. If it wasn't it made little Differnece he doubted Nikki had also lost his powers as well. Then of course there was the fact that their guild was built just for those devoted to healing. Seth might not be able to revive his daughter himself, but he likely still had the means to see her alive and well.

Vernon was amused to see Sain finnally discard the facade he'd apparently been hiding behind for so long. The first step to claiming his true power had been taken. They'd hardly gotten started and already there was progress, a good sign indeed. If he survived through the rest of the day then surely it would be a wonderous sign indeed.

"We shall see about playing with the girl later, though there are better things to do with our time," Vernon said as he dumped a humanoid body out of his bag and into the back seat. "Your test is somewhat simple," Vernon replied. It was moreso a lie than than the truth, though it was simple enough to tell. As Vernon spoke root-like vines protruded out of the dead body and streched out for the sides of the the Sleigh. A curious flower rose from the bodies mouth. It it had strange greenish petals that seemed to grow exponentially.

"But first, Hadesfiel, stand up straight, hold this, and close your eyes," Vernon said as he handed the end of some rope to Sain.

Sain watched the strange events unfold before him. What exactly was his new master doing...exactly? He wasn't sure but he was about to find out. No doubt this would be unpleasant, more so than the sewers. He stood slowly and took the rope before closing his eyes. He was sort of expecting to be dragged into the waters bellow and having to fight some manner of beasty and some how make it back to the surface, yeah, probably that knowing Vernon.

"Ready" he said.

Veron grinned as he pushed the demon out of the sleigh. The demon's trust was quite amusing, yet Vernon had yet to errode the trust of any of his pets. Perhaps he simply didn't flog them enough. "You can open your eyes now," Vernon snickered as Sain fell through the air. If Sain's grip was impossibly tight the rope would dangle him over the water, but most likely the weight of the demon and the momentum of the fall would rip the rope out of Sain's grasp sending him to plummet into the murky water. Be a shame if the demon didn't know how to swim. The rope would probably be lowered down to him before he could drown though.

Vernon tested the plant's grip on the rope before moving on to casting a spell which cut through the air as a deep roar, course Sain would likel not be able to descriminate the act from any other roar. Vernon made use of his new toy as he called forth a monstrositiy from the depths of marsh. Five was certainly more fun than one. The leech infested waters stirred with life as corcodiles and other smaller creatures tried to put themselves out of the Sludge Drake's path.

"You hanging on to that rope real good?" Vernon asked as he peered over the side of the Sleigh. Either way the rope was to be lowered until it's end was just at the water's surface. "You ready to do some counting?" Vernon snickered.

"Woah there!!" he clung to the rope as he fell. Despite the shock he held on real good to the rope and didn't fall into the croc infested waters were there were leeches and other nasty things. Yeah he didn't want to dip into the water, that would be bad, very bad. Then Vernon did some spell and a load roar cut through the swamp.

"Crud" he said as he dangled there, holding on for dear life. Most likely something big was coming, and he realized something...

...he was bait.

"Count the Teeth, it's the name of the game and what you need to do before I climb all the way up. I would suggest don't stay put for too long though. My little Kiddies are oh too eager to show their teeth," Vernon snickered. Worst part was if the demon failed he'd likely die beyond the point where Vernon could think about geting him healed by those dimwited healers. That would be quite the loss. Boot lickers were hard to come by for one as charismatic as Vernon.

Almost as summoned by Vernon words a powerful set of jaws came out of the murky depths. In Sain wasn't quick to move he would find his ankles bitten into by the drake. Yet even after that Sain wouldn't recieve much repreive as another drake jumped out of the water to reach for Sain's rear. The second was an illusion though the seemed to splash for it anyways.

Vernon dug around in his pockets for a snack to watch the show with. A few drawf toes were pulled forth to entertain Vernon's mouth as he watched Sain deal with the task of counting one hundred some odd teeth times five without getting eaten. If the demon was as dutiful as any boot licker claimed to be this would be a most intriguing show.

"BY THE FRILLY UNMENTIONABLES OF LOLTH, WHAT IN IMYTHESS IS THAT!!??" Sain fliped up and spun with one hand on the rope as the drake tried to eat him. Not cool Vernon, not cool, he had gained a servant only to try and kill him now? Pffft alright if thats how he wanted to play then so be it. But he'd rather not count the teeth on this thing while it was alive, he'd do it when it was DEAD! So Sain let go of the rope and drew his blade before plumeting on to the huge drakes back and slaming his sword down into the drake.

He hoped to kill it in one blow then count it's teeth at his leasure. Of course that probably wouldn't happen without some sword of weapon strong enough to carve up the drake...like a cutter sword for example.

"The fruits of my Laziness, Sludge Drakes," Vernon replied. Vernon was pleased to see that the surpise attack didn't cost the demon's life. Never good to see the fun ended so soon, though Sain's next action seemed to move in that direction. Vernon hadn't expected it to say the least, though it was still within the rules. He was post pleased, amused, and to a minor degree worried. Vernon liked reckless courage and always found it amusing wether in his pets or in his foes. Sain seemed to be charging into the very face of death. Vernon thought stupidity should be justly rewarded yet at the same time he wanted to keep Sain alive. He was an amusing little pet and of course having him peeved off the moon child immensly.

Vernon roared once more, amending his former command in order to buy him some time he didn't need sain drowning to death because he was fearless. Vernon then rummaged through his bag as he looked for something of use amongst random trinkets. Brought an interesting question, What would be of use against the drakes? Fancy scales and an immunity to posions made the answer difficult.

The drake was surpised by the sharp spike of pain it's back as the blade's length bypassed a weakness in the Drake's scales. Largening the wound would likely be impossible, the blade would have to exit the way it came out which might be both difficult and unwise to do. Sain could put his effort to pulling out the sword or using it as an achor to hang on to the Drake without being helplessly floating around the marsh's waters. The drake was already on it's way underwater and were Sain to hold on he would be dragged along for the ride. The drake was annoyed at having to keep the creature alive, but chose to still follow the hand that fed it. She undulated throught the water open and down, occasionaly granting the demon the opputunity to gasp for air before being immersed in the water again. As instructeded she made for a decent sized patch of dry land not too far away.

((I wish I still had draconic might, I could rip this thing in half then >.>))

Sain gasped then smiled smugly as he gripped the blade and kicked the drake in the side. "COME ON BESSIE GO FASTER!!" he shouted with giddy delight seeming to enjoy the ride he was getting. Was he insane, was he stupid? No, he was Sain and that was how he rolled. He had cast aside all pretense, he had not a care in the world right now, he was having fun. He would make a good pet for Vernon, someone who was fearless in the face of certain death and had a sense of humor something his other peons probably lacked.

Sain swung on the blade twisting it round and round in the drake's back, "Oh do the twist, twist, do the twist, twist!!" he laughed with childish glee in between breaths. He gave the drake another kick as he saw it was heading for dry land. Sain didn't want that, nah he was gonna kill this thing on its own terms just to prove how much of a badarse he was.

Vernon was surprised by what he heard next. He wasn't supposed be hearing the demon enjoying this. Shouts of Terror, betrayal, hate, but not delight. Stupid drake wasn't doing it's job right. Vernon liked the idea of keeping them both alive, but obviously someone needed to die for this insolence and the drake most certainly was the most replacable. Hadn't taken too much to raise the drake to this size. Were he to try harder chances were he could eaisly do much better, particularly since Sain showed no aversion to the beast what so ever.

Sain's kicking was hardly felt, though the same couldn't be said of the twisting of the blade. It wasn't long before this trifle could be dealt with. The Drake crawled on the small crop of land and leaned to one side before suddenly jerking to the other. The movement would likey have rid of Sain and the blade ot simply Sain, either way the demon would be flung to the other side of the island.

Luck seemed to favor Sain as Vernon came upon a trinket of use. He knew he had the eye Sain spoke of earilier, though he had forgotten where exactly he had put it. It was in some god-awful heavy blade. Useless to one who sought mobility such as himself, but possibly of use to one trying to fight something several times his size. Vernon tossed the blade onto the island. One would likey hurt one's self trying to catch it and failing to to catch would cause it to sink into the dround and be difficult to pull out, both due to the blade's weight.

Sain was flung from the drake at nearly the same time as the sword was flung on to the island. Sain saw the glint out of his eyes and could see the large blade. Judging by its size it was probably heavy so he'd need to be careful. As he soared through the air he reached out and grasped the blade before landing with a sizable thud. How did he avoid injury? He didn't tense up, he let his body be loose and absorb the shock gently. If he had tensed up he would have broken something. In any case he now had a decent weapon agaisnt the drake so now he ran at the drake with the blade dragging behind up and he said, "Night Night Bessie" he then rose the blade up and thanks to adrenalin he was able to swing ti with good speed and cleave the drake's head off.

"HAHAHAHA!! One two three four..." now that it was safe he began to count the teeth on the drake.

"I think there's about 236 teeth give or take ten or so teeth ether way".

(:/ kind of a kill joy when you kill something 4x your size with a simple stroke, but meh)

Stupid mangey runt! What was he thinking, killing the Drake like that? The Demon clearly had no style, no grace, no finesse. Did Vernon truly have to teach this fool so much? Nevermind that the number was wrong, the counting teeth was never truly the point of the trial, though neither was the proper means of killing something. "Pathetic simply patheitc. You've much to learn apparently," Vernon growled as he dropped down onto the drake from the sleigh.

Vernon drew forth his own blade as he wove a spell before plunging the blade into the Drake's side. The cut through the cleanly, yet largely because the area around the blade was rapidly rotting which made the task akin to slicing a flaming brand through butter. "You never kill anything with a single blow. You maim, you weaken, you torture, and when they beg for liberation then you may oblige," Vernon said as he droped down, carving into the corpse's hide as he fell. Vernon temped as Vernon was to whip his stupid pet he decided to handle another order of buisness first. There would always be time for whipping later. Vernon resumed carving out the drake by following up the vertical cut with a lengthy horizontal one. The Drake was Pregnant and why waste the eggs. Good seeds could come from bad apples, yet if all as failed He'd been meaning to taste the Drake eggs. The drake was close to laying them anyways so they's still be good. "Get in there and carefully load the eggs into the sleigh," Vernon snalred as he pulled back the flab of Flesh. The bats flew down and brought the sleigh near the Drake.
