| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

A time-lost elf from the ancient Istan Desert, when the world was still known as Imythess and Mithrin stood where one can now find modern-day Taras. Aevis was displaced as a result of an incident with her practice of time magic and any hope she has of returning to her own time lies in the practice of an art nearly dead due to its incredibly complexity and loss of studying materials, yet she remains confident that she will succeed in mastering chronomancy. A completely psychopathic and sadistic demon whose very existence was warped into being by his pale blade, Getsuga Tenshou. Horo Ogichi was once known by the name Damian Hollow over 300 years ago and has since become the self-proclaimed "Last True Monster of Chaon." He refuses to join any guild or clan in favor of leaving options of butchery open and will often play with his kills before finally taking the lives of his victims. While having been lost to a maddened rampage for almost 200 years, Ogichi has recently begun a sudden decline of raw insanity. At some points he can be seen suffering from headaches or acting rather calmly rather than simply striking out at the nearest living thing he sees. Despite the demented power of the Getsuga Tenshou, Ogichi may actually make a "friend" based on their chances of surviving an encounter with him, often times the main ways that he will let an opponent survive is by either being stopped by an outside force or through sheer mercy so he can see them grow stronger. There are rumors of a cult growing around the idea of his power and the hopes that they may be spared if they find him worthy sacrifices. It is rumored that the pale fiend had once found true love in the form of a draconian female that has mysteriously vanished. There is also rumor that the two had a child together before she vanished, although Horo is never seen around the white-scaled half-draconian child. None have dared question him about this rumor to either confirm or deny its truth. While the exact dates are unknown, several fortune tellers claim that in the future the Pale Fiend will revert to becoming human and sane, forsaking the pale blade. He will then be imprisoned for centuries while the Cult of the Pale grows before freeing him under the leadership of his son who will also become warped by the existence of the pale blade. It is also rumored that the pale fiend is the only one with the possibility of resisting the effects of the pale blade, instead choosing to give into its maddening effect for the sake of the raw power that it bestows upon him. A duergar, a deep-mountain dwarf who grew up in poverty and learned to cherish the value of coin. There was nothing he would not do for money, and within time he grew an empire built on crime, aggressive mining practices, and keeping mining tunnels cleared of threats. In this time he made many enemies and had plenty of brushes with death. His body is a testament to his stubborn will to survive, with parts being replaced with grafted materials, even his beard being metal. For a long time the shadiness of his work was ignored for the effectiveness of his results, but with time somebody betrayed him and sold him out. Fortunately, with the positive results of his actions, he was only banished from the Deep Cities, and now works Edited by Barizzin, Sat Feb 10, 2018 5:41 am.

A towering knight of Taras, a hopeful proponent of law and order, Ser Detaras is willing to put himself between enemies of the nation and anybody who he feels needs his protection. Though of a past that remains mysterious save to a select few, many within the Tarasian Guard and Military have trust in the knight's intentions and abilities. He was knighted as a result of the Demonic Invasion of Taras, having served valiantly and selflessly until its conclusion, though being inducted as a knight afterwards he focused on aiding with the rebuilding efforts by putting his great strength to use. He is the Adamantine Wall, everything he does is in the name of Taras and protecting the people within its borders. He's stubborn, strong-willed, chivalrous, modest, and doesn't hesitate to put himself in the line of fire for somebody else, even if he doesn't personally like them. Duty is above all else for him, putting him in an almost zen-like existence. Since participating in a mission to eliminate a terrorist cell that destroyed the Ashfall district of Taras, he has come to a level of fame that he considers unfortunate, as even armored with his identity obscured he is easily recognizable for his rare size and equipment. Still, his main focus is the protection of those within Taras. Edited by Detaras, Mon Feb 12, 2018 4:00 am.

Morgoth used to be a great and experienced healer, following in the wake of death and destruction that Ogichi left behind, resurrecting the dead and helping them to process the horror that they had experienced. He was a selfless man who asked for nothing, and Ogichi was very aware of his existence and deeds. Over time, the healer amassed a following of students who wished to learn the healing arts, to help undo the damage of the Pale Fiend. He taught them all carefully and strictly, making sure that not a bit of mana was out of place. He taught them to rely on their own magical abilities instead of the uncertainty of magical crutches and ethically or morally questionable tools like Unicorn Spears crafted from their horns. One day while undoing the damage of the demon, Morgoth and his students came across a powerful Necromancer who was using Ogichi's slaughters to bolster his own undead armies. In a bit of a curious game, he decided to test the resolve of Morgoth with three options to choose from. Either let the Necromancer take the corpses of the dead. Let all of the students die and give their bodies so that Morgoth could continue his work. Or Morgoth could be the subject of a twisted experiment and die in their stead. Morgoth chose the third option and was killed on the spot, his corpse taken by the Necromancer and everything else left be. He was resurrected, his skeletal structure reshaped into a generic humanoid form, and with every bit of sensation in his bones. He could feel every breeze, step, and rubbing of his bones in excrutiating fineness. The worst part though was that his own healing magic, processed by his undead body, causes him the worst pain of it all. With the constant pain he grew irritable, but with his undead form few actually trust him, and almost none actually thank him for suffering so that he can heal them. Plenty even consider him foul for his existence. He continues to heal others through an almost pathological need to help people, but he's become bitter. Through some of his old recovered things he can mitigate the pain from his magic a little, but he still exists in suffering. Edited by Morgoth, Sat Feb 10, 2018 5:59 am.

Bloodblade Once infamous assassin for the criminal organization, Ashbah Alssahra, reported as being a violent sociopath. He was identifiable by his unique weapon, a red combat knife that could supposedly heal him by inflicting damage on a victim. With this, the Bloodblade largely rushed into dens of Ashbah Alssahra's enemies and quickly killed all present without worry. Rumors began several years ago that the original had retired, the M.O. of supposed Bloodblades since being considerably less bloody, more survivors being left over, and those survivors describing attackers of different descriptions from the original Bloodblade. Since the split of Istan and Rozanai, the Bloodblade has made a reappearance in the criminal underworld of Taras, though his bloody work has become cleaner, leading to rumors that the Istan Military may be hunting him. Ah'Har A thief of some small note who grew up within the slums of Istan City, he and his adopted younger sister somehow got roped into joining Sultan Ishraq into Hara and share in the reputation of the Circle of Hara, though some question how much they really contributed. Despite a disreputable background, Ah'Har was rewarded for his efforts in Hara by the Sultan Ishraq. After the rebellion, Ah'Har, along with his adopted sister Cla'Tria, moved to Rozanai, not feeling safe in Istan City with their close ties to Ishraq. Edited by Ah'Har, Sat Feb 10, 2018 6:02 am.
