Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Tinum always got the short end of the stick. He was always the one wandering into a den of thieves to take inventory of the weeds growing out of a disused boot, or the one being sent into Hauntwood to check on the latest and greatest spooky tree. This time, he'd been sent out in the dead of night to inspect the lakeside plants, and make sure they weren’t being saturated by any new additions to the lake itself.

Batting his butterfly-esque wings, Tinum gained height. Emerging from the thicket that was Norwood itself, he sighed, his eyes scanning the horizon for and indication of hostile plants or animals. With nothing about, and the surface of the water seeming still enough, he gently came in to land on the grass.

Being sure to keep a careful eye about him, he approached the nearest flower; blue, about as tall as him, not even close to blooming. He tapped its stem slightly, and then squeezed down on it with just a little force. He nodded inwardly, and made a mental note – it seemed this flower, at the very least, was fine for now.

And with that, he moved onto the next flower. Unfortunately, becoming enamored with your work can be extremely dangerous for any being under a foot or two in height... he'd scarcely notice a thing... though many creatures of the night would be capable of noticing him...

Blake was out and doing nothing as usual. He felt no need to do anything harsh or anything. His wolves usually gave a signal in their tongue to Blake if they found something strange or an ambush. Blake was walking in a garden by his eyes. He could see a lot of things in the dark, but barely gave a care for it. He could also smell it out by his nose. He had his cloak to cover the sunlight from his face, but he wore it anyway if it was night time. Blake found a rock right behind some flowers where nothing was at by his sight. He would never know if a pixie or some fairy came out of nowhere. Blake walked forward and was about to step on the flower that Tinum was on. Iken, Windrunner, and Jin slammed into his side to stop him from stepping on the small critter.

They started to speak all at once, and Blake was getting confused at what they were saying. Blake started to speak in the wolf tongue, ”One at a time guys. That kind of hurt too.”

The wolves started to do their own kind of laughter and Windrunner was the first one to stop laughing and talking in the wolf tongue. ”There is a small critter right where you were about to step. Next time pay attention, Blake. By the smell, I would say a pixie.” Blake had a sadden face, he had nearly killed a pixie without knowing about it. Blake went back to the patch of flowers and kneeled.

He began to say, ”I am so sorry about that. Thanks to my wolves I didn’t step on you. I am truly sorry about it.”

Having moved onto the second flower, Tinum was completely unaware of his surroundings. If he was eaten by some sort of freakish nocturnal fish at this point, he’d have no-one but himself to blame. Poking the side of the flower, he measured every faucet of its being noting them down on an official notepad he’d been sent out with. It wasn’t his, certainly not, nor did he intend to keep it – definitely not once he became a fully-fledged protector/druid guy,

As it was dark out, Tinum didn’t really notice the shadow of a foot loom into view. However, he did notice the sound of breath, almost like a dog or something. Turning on the spot, he found his vision filled by one, giant, black… thing. At that point it didn’t even to occur to Tinum it could’ve been a foot. He opened his mouth to yell, but found that no sound came out. Falling to his knees as the foot began to descend; he began mumbling every prayer under the sun, begging every God he knew of to not let him die in such a humiliating way. “I’m destined for great things!” he assured them, though both he and any God listening that knew even the tiniest bit about woodland pixies also knew that was a blatant lie.

But then, it stopped. His sight returned, the obstacle previously blocking his view had been removed! He heard muffled noises from above, and peered to his side, only to be met with a sight that would make even the bravest of tiny beings shiver in fear.

Wolves.

To make matters worse, moments later, a massive... humanoid... thing decided to kneel down right in front of him. Tinum looked up, fear in his eyes, barely able to register what the wolf-tamer-man said, or how honestly he’d meant it.

“That... that’s okay... Just... please don’t kill me... Or… let those wolves kill me...”

He bowed his head, visibly shaking. Not only was his overwhelming shyness now affecting him, but with the ever present fear of death that loomed inside his mind now reinforced by the appearance of a man and three wolves by a lake... at night, no less... it was a wonder he was still conscious.
