Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Marikesh, or Marik, is a shape-shifting (albeit unknown) construct of human flesh, metallic elements and animal bone and sinew. Running at roughly five foot and 150 pounds he seems average for his apparent age of fifteen. However due to his shape shifting nature he doesn’t know that this alters constantly so that rough alterations happen without his knowing. Since he doesn’t know that he changes he isn’t aware that he can shape shift so therefore changes are made without discretion and usually over a period of time. Height usually alters between half a foot, hair length, stockiness, and things like that are not constantly set and one week he can look skinny and then give him a week and a half and he can be short and stocky.

Appearances wise, he looks to be a teenage boy, with multicolored hair that resembles all the colors you would see in a fire, blue-black, reds, oranges, yellow, golden blonds, and it emanates a heat haze that gives it a flickering and glowing fiery nature and while it is hot to the touch you would only burn yourself by staying in contact well past your pain tolerance. The same goes for his skin; it is a pale white with an internal glow that alters depending on his mood. Anger and anxiety produce a redder tinge and glow, happiness and affection exhibit a golden aura, sadness and fear show themselves in the blue ranges.

Other notable differences between this body and that of a true human is that since his teeth were remade from a white metal they are sharp, and due to imperfect molding and craftsmanship they to come off as a bit more pointed. You may not notice it at first but this is one of those off things that people sense about Marik (as if the hair and eyes (later) weren’t enough). Furthermore his fingers were recreated as well, they are a flawless imitation of human skin reinforced with a bronze-like substance. They are strong and they seem almost clawed though the defect wasn’t so when it was made, it is a result of the overall magical process.

His eyes are also questionable. They are brimstone like; as in solid black where there should be color, and ember-like flakes of red and gold dispersed through them give his eyes the impression of a smoldering fire. His face, having been recreated like most of the front half of his body, is also at odds with nature. While it shows his emotions well enough it rarely reflects true or realistic death. Many times when he is merely content his face may give him away as being elated, or when he is somber and depressed he may only frown. The true measure of his emotions comes from his skin color.
