| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Vernon had sent one of his bats with a note to Duo. Finding Duo was easy enough as most of the time Vernon had him followed around by one of his bats. The not was short and sweet, something along the lines of 'To the marsh, Now!'. Vernon thought he mentioned something about training, but had forgetten if he actually had wrote it down. Vernon was all set for Duo's trainging session and just hoped he had enough hapless elves bound and gagged. Before Training began there was of course unfinished buisness to tend to from their last encounter, and of course there was also some news Vernon had to break to Duo after the training session or prehaps before it. Seemed Duo was finally headed in the right direction so Vernon waited in his sliegh while snacking on some rotten fingers. Leprechauns were magically delicous, though notably hard to catch and even harder to find. The sliegh rested ontop of a large islannd surrounded by deep marsh water. People dangled from ropes and squirmed to try and free themselves all over the small island, but they were tied good and tight. Most were elves but there was a human or to ready for whatever Devious games Vernon had in mind. |

There came the sound of flapping wings on the nighttime horizon as a shadow passed over the moon, two large wings spread wide as a bird swooped down from the sky. It was a hawk, jet-black in plumage and with a manic glint to its eye not found within most animals, one that gleamed even in the darkest shadows that laced over the ground. Slowly, its form began to mutate, a fox-shaped mask falling to the ground as feathers shed, the mass growing back into its normal form as Duo brushed a few feathers from his shoulders. His hair remained jet black, a change that he was starting to like for nights, though his eyes had regained their familiar violet color. "Have I kept you waiting too long?" he asked with a slight smirk, glancing around at the various elves in their different restrained states. "And why didn't you mention to me that we're having guests?" came another question, this one accompanied by an almost predatory gaze as he licked over his fangs. In truth, he'd been feeling a bit unfulfilled lately, something he attributed to too much time not committing acts of random and wanton violence. Even Raziel was starting to get antsy, when normally he kept the demon sated and silent. "Where'd you get so many, anyway?" He wasn't complaining, not in the least, just very curious. If there was a black market for this kind of thing, he wanted in on it. |

Wasn't long before Vernon could smell Duo. Just in time too, the fingers were nibbled to the bone and a bit beyond. Vernon tossed aside the bones and pulled out his whip, no proper training session could be complete without one. Vernon hopped out of the sleigh and licked his fingers. He didn't have to wait long before actually catching sight of Duo. After changing forms the vampire wasted little time in getting to as questions. Vernon was tempted to tell the vampire that he'd been too slow in getting there. But decided not to this time around. The vampire had actulally made it sooner than expected for the distnce crossed. There were better reasons to punish the younsters. "You came just in time, but if we are asking questions, why didn't you tell me you soft spot for bratty little girls," Vernon sneered as his whip lashed out at Duo. Sure the whip would only impair the magic that the scrawny vampire depended upon over much, but that would only make the training session more challenging, useful, and entertaining. "You'd better iron out that weakness before I do kid. But, I digress. Some of these are lost souls that thought they could fetch the bounty on my head. Most of them were in villages scattered throughout the forest. The villages were so close they were just begging to be abducted," Vernon explained. "I've got some good news and some bad news today, which would you like first," Vernon grinned. |

"Blame Tristan!" he countered, hollering indignantly as the whip lashed out at him. He made no move to dodge of course, but he still didn't exactly enjoy the feeling of having his magic drained away. Luckily for him, the wounds closed on their own as long as he had power left to spare. It was an irritating process, but one that he'd grown used to with time. Hell, he even barely flinched now as the blade tore at his skin- instead, he only continued to wear the same agitated look on his face. He mumbled short nothings under his breath, needing to voice his mild anger before he had a different type of outburst, one that would likely involve fire. He simply nodded as Vernon gave his explanation, smirking a bit. "You think heroes would learn after the first twenty didn't return," he said wistfully, glancing again at the assembled elves. "So I guess that means they're fresh?" he asked, flashing his fangs at the nearest one and watching as he squirmed more fervently against his restraints. At the mention of news, though, his attention returned to Vernon. He ponded the answer for only a moment, before shrugging and saying, "Whatever's less boring to listen to, you decide," in a carefree tone. He was truthfully more interested in the gathered elves and all the different prospects that kept cropping up in his demented little mind. |

Tristan? Some conjured excuse no doubt. Completely irrelavent unless that was some secret name for Seth, though why anyone would hide from Seth of all people was beyond him. The pansy probably would smile and hug the zombie by the week's end and the zombie had had more fun with the girl than Vernon did, no doubt. "Bad news first then. AD has questioned your usefulness. In a few days she will adminstering a 'test' for you. Let's just say you don't want to fail," Vernon replied. It was partialy true, though the test was also his own. All he had to do was get Duo to pass with fly colors and he had two shots to do it in. Course Duo didn't need to know that he was expected to lose the first match. He didn't want vampire to give any less than everything he had. "Good news is that all these people have volunteered to help you train. The blood of the kindly always has a savory.... toothsome taste. These warriors are as ready and fresh as any can be after being tied up all day. The rules game are simple. I promised anyone who beats you gets to go free. Kill any of them that isn't tied up, and try to catch the runners. After that warm up and... snacktime is done there will still be a few more fun games for the remainder," Vernon grined before snapping his fingers. He turned and hopped in the sleigh as five of the elves near Duo were freed by musfa claws. Four were made the smarter descion and picked up the equipment that was laid beneath them. One made the mistake of running. Vernon wonder who would get to him first, himself, Duo, or the Crocs. |

He listened halfheartedly to the so-called 'bad news,' picking scraps of dirt from underneath his nails as he did so. In truth, the idea of taking a test didn't worry him in the least, for he'd always been crafty enough to get himself out of any tough situation or mess that came his way with only minor wounds. For the most part. "The way you say test... It makes it sound like good news," he said with a smirk, mind already racing with all of the fun possibilites for what AD might try to test him with. Hopefully it would involve stabbing or burning in some way! Although the chance to practice his mental magic in a way that was more focused upon crafting illusions would prove fun as well, and he was just itching to test out some other new tricks he'd learned from his dearest mother. His smirk widened as Vernon revealed to him the 'good news,' though. "How very noble of them," he uttered with a maliciously mirth-filled expression etched into his features. He nodded slowly in agreement, remembering all too well what the blood of someone innocent tasted like when drawn. What made it even better, though, was how Vernon explained it as a game. "I love games!" he exclaimed happily, voice cracking into laughter as he got the gist of his 'training assignment.' He wasted no time as one of the Elves began to flee, eyes flashing white as he let magic carry him through space. Within the blink of an eye, he stood before the running, smiling in a way that was caught in limbo between psychotic and childish. "Hello!" he called, drawing a knife from within his cloak as he lashed out at the still-moving man's neck. "And goodbye!" came his conclusion, hoping that the man's momentum would carry him straight into the blade. If not, it wouldn't be hard to stab him somewhere else in that time frame. |

Good that the bad news was recieved well enough. Vernon didn't the brat to suffer from anexiety, though Vernon doubted it was possible Duo could even feel such a thing. Vernon was also pleased to see that the vampire enjoyed the idea of the game so much, though Vernon couldn't help but wondered if the same would have been true they were all little girls, though there was notably less of a threat out of them so it would have been more so for fun than trainging purposes. Vernon watched as the Musfa swiftly move on to free five more elves. Duo would need a quick pace if he didn't wan't to be overwhelmed with numbers. Vernon pondered making maters even worse for the vampire by introducing a new foe. Vernon reached into his bag and pulled out a smelly clump of molded cheese. He nibbled on it nibbled on it as he slowly began to weave his next spell, figuring that he might as well make the event into a fitting challenge. Meanwhile the four free elves charged Duo. Two weilded swords, one held a mace and in front of the other three one held a rusted spear. As the runner was slain, the body dropping clumsily as the head bounced off to feed the crocodiles, the elf launched the spear at the vampire, hoping to end the confrontation before they neared him. |
