Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The Moon was in the center of the sky, it's moonlight shining off the surface of the lake. Elbereth looked around the lake looking for a place to gather her thoughts. She walked around it for almost an hour, wandering until her legs got tired. She found a spot to sit, and got on one knee to feel the grass.

It was a lustrous green even in the dead of night, she sat down and stretched. "I really should get out more, this is rediculous that I'm already hurting." She layed down in the grass, and yawned. Turning on her side she noticed something fluttering in the distance. She didn't pay it any mind and thought it was a simple firefly.

She closed her eyes for a minute or two, as hearing the wings flutter closer disturbed her a bit. She sat up and looked over her right shoulder to see that the fairy, that she thought was a bug until further inspection, had started to hover next to her. She asked him, "Can I help you?"

Midori sat in a tree branch over looking the lake. It was nighttime and he was tired. He just couldn't fall asleep for some reason. He had one nightmare about a memory that he doesn't even remember. Something about some half demon attacking him, and then fighting him off without much trouble. Where had the memory come from? It was a bit odd, the place it was in seemed quite different from the Norwood he knew a lot of his life.

He sat with his arms folded across his chest, legs folded underneath him as he sat, back hunched forward as he leaned forward with his eyes closed. He wanted to sleep but that memory kept coming to him while he did. He saw himself in the situation too so it wasn't someone else's memory. Would there be more dreams this? Maybe that's what it all was, a dream made up in his mind.

The Fae opened his eyes to look over the moonlight that reflected off of the lake. He had seen a few people around today but nobody he had any interest in tricking, annoying, misleading, or just talking to friendily. Last person he met around his lake almost drowned him, or well try and teach him how to swim. He didn't want to and the water was a bit frightening to deal with. Well, at least it wasn't raining.

Midori saw one person just sitting on the grass. Well, he wasn't getting any sleep so might as well seek some entertainment. His wings flapped quickly as he moved off of the branch and he let his arms fall to his side. His legs went back to a position like he would be standing, he just went forward slightly to inspect the person. Didn't know who they were, didn't know how dangerous they were, didn't care either. He had seen, and dreamt about, worse, he was sure.

When he approached, not exactly very quickly either, she turned to him while she was a whiles away. Well, he wasn't trying to hide it. If he didn't want to be noticed nobody would know he was coming. Well, most wouldn't. He was a Shadow Dancer for a reason. When she turned, he used the spell Blink and turned around while he did, and pulling his legs up. He reappeared back in front of her, sitting on one of her knees with his legs pulled up to his collarbone.

"I don't advise asking questions like that to people of my kind, miss. You never know what you're going to get, some might even force you to do it, I guess." He said with a small giggle, he wasn't like that. It was just a start though, maybe she would be fun to talk to, maybe she would be a bore or try to hurt him. He didn't care, if she was boring he'd leave, if she wanted to hurt him he'd leave or hurt back. He rested his arms on his knees and head on his arms and looked up at her.

She stared at the fairy for a moment, thinking to herself while glancing away, "I don't get it, what did I do?" She looked at him again then layed back down. "Well it was a simple question, no need to get testy about it. If you need something, ask me, but if you are just bored I don't plan on doing anything about it." She paused for a moment, "Although, if you wanna just talk I'm fine with that. I don't really get out of that city much, usually sitting around home."

She sighed and tried to go to sleep with no intentions of listening to her new aquaitance. She thought to herself before trying to fall asleep, thinking about why he had apporoched her. Why was she the one to be talked to?

Thoughts raced her mind so much she could barely sleep until one of her questions was answered. She wanted to ask him, but fiegning sleep was the only thing she knew she was gonna try. She anticipated a response only to keep her from actually going to sleep from boredum...

Midori only smiled, people often got like this when he warned them. He gave her a fake shrug with his hands in the air as well. He blinked and went on to how to explain it better. "Not testy, just a warning, I guess. Just that someone's word on something can be misused so when talking to a Fae you can't trust or don't know, don't offer them such questions. It's better to start with 'Hello,' or 'How are you?' You don't have to take my advice, I guess." He said before looking over his shoulder at the lake he had no true interest in. He always warned people with stuff like this, or well not always. Just when he felt like it.

"I am bored, and I can't really sleep tonight, and I saw so so I decided to drop by and say hello, I guess." He said with another shrug and childish grin. He flew into the air when she lied down and hovered above her face only inches a way to look into her eyes.

"You don't mind if I talk to you, do you? Because if I annoy you too much I will leave, I guess. Rather make friends than people that are annoyed with me, I guess." He said and held the smile slightly and waited for her to say something. He was interested in people, just that many saw him as a pest. He was use to it and didn't care too much. He knew a few people.

She looked at him, and rolled her eyes. She sat up and started to shake her hair free of any grass that may have gotten stuck. She looked out to the lake and then wondered how to continue. "I don't really find you annoying, but just as interesting as you find me. I feel like you are playing with me yet I feel like you are serious too. Not really sure which one to believe but I'll trust you on your reasoning for talking to me."

She scratched her forehead and pushed her hair back out of her face. "You are kinda small to talk so big, but I'm guessing there's a reason for that so I'll back off. But it would be nice to get to know you a bit better."

She smiled at him then yawned heavily.

Midori grinned and giggled in a child like manner at what she said, 'Playing with her.' It almost sounded right. It wasn't because he wasn't exactly playing yet, nor was he like many of the Pixies he knew, treating the larger races like they were simpletons. He knew a few smart... and scary... big-folk. Cordelia being one of them, sometimes lacking the smart part. Oh well, she wasn't exactly the focus he wanted to think about right now. Thinking about some of those past people made his back ache from where his wings were ripped off... gladly they grow back... after a month of having to walk on the ground. Well, wouldn't be too much of a problem for him nowadays.

Midori moved out of her way when she went to sit up so he didn't hit into he head. He flew down and sat on the ground right in front of her, only away by an inch or so. All the moving she was doing was causing him to have to adjust where he was. She was the bigger one, and could easily make a place for him to sit or not sit. Oh well, he didn't care. Just didn't feel like flying around too much.

"I can't say I'm a very serious person a lot, but if you mean serious about making a friend then of course, I guess." He said with playfulness in his voice. "I don't see why anyone would bother to not be friends with people." He said with another shrug and then went on to tell her about himself.

"If you want to know more about me, feel free to ask almost anything, I guess. You can call me Midori or what you wish to call me, I have a few names, I guess." He started off and waited at first to see if she would ask anything. He was interested about getting to know her as well. "Can I have your name?"
