Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Kaess had spent some time traveling and he was finally approaching his target. It had been seven days of travel and he felt the need for a rest. He had seen the lake in the distance and started to move towards a clearing to land in. Today was for relaxing before he continued on his normal travels. The weather was nice and it was perfect for a swim. There were only a few wispy clouds in the sky, that occasionally passed over the sun, but for the most part the sun was shining bright. Which meant the water was going to be warmer than usual and it would be nice to dry in the sun after his swim. It was just about perfect.

Kaess slowly spiraled down into the clearing. He looked around seeing it was a nice clearing and soon headed out towards the lake. He managed to start whistling a traveling tune he once learned on the road, as he was in a good mood. 'Hmm been a while since I was here. Well should be nice wonder if anyone else will be at the lake. It would be nice to chat with someone.' He enjoyed the dappled light of the trees walking at a slow relaxed pace.

  • "Bah!" Raschagal muttered aloud, kicking a smooth stone into the water's edge. The lake had become a regular visit of hers nowadays, the half-elf feeling drawn to its waters. It provided her a place to bathe if the need came. It provided food (though she wasn't particularly good at fishing). It provided drink on those hot days, like this particular one.. Most and very best of all, in her opinion, was that it provided a location for leisure activities. She'd spent a number of her 70-or-so years on her own lounging about in the water, floating around.. doing nothing positive or important with her life. But what was she supposed to do, exactly? Anyone she could possibly ever fit in with would consider her an outcast! It was all because of a midnight rendezvous between her human mother and Wood Elf father..

With her things carefully packed in a cranny under the trunk of a dead and fallen tree, she climbed up onto said tree and gazed into the water. Her hair, long dark brown dreads and curls, fell about her shoulders and down her back. The longest portion was tied back to prevent it all from spilling forward if she leaned over the water. Her tunic was dirty from the preparation of her last meal, and her pants were rolled up to her knees and slightly wet toward the bottom. She was a hot mess in some people's minds, but she was used to it. She didn't exactly have anyone to look pretty for, though her being a half-elf gave her an attractive visage..

Her calm trance was interrupted by the sound of whistling from afar, and she quickly jumped to the side where her things were gathered. The sound coming from the opposite side of the trunk, she knelt down and kept her head from poking above the edge of the trunk. She looked to the trees, hoping to make a dash for it.. But, unfortunately, whoever it was was too close. She had to be cautious.

Kaess thought he heard something for a moment as he approached. However, he didn't see anything or hear anything when he stooped for a moment, so he continued to the lake shore. Looking out at the sparkling water he watched the water for a moment just enjoying the view and remembering some of his old childhood memories from here. He then laid his bag down and took off his shirt leaving them in plain view so he could keep watch on them, and leaving him with just his pants on. His scales glittered in the sun. He started stretching out his muscles in the shallows, getting himself used to the water and also warming up to prevent a cramp. This proved interesting as the water splashed up around him creating interesting mini mini rainbows from the reflection off his scales. While doing this he muttered loudly to himself.
"Hmm... what should I do today after the swim. Well lets see oh right I have that bread and cheese and I probably still have some ham too, that should make a good sandwich for lunch." Kaess also looked around the lake seeing no one and failing to see the hidden person he sighed. "Ah well not another person here it would have been pleasant to find another person to talk to this afternoon."

  • Careful not to make any sort of noise, Raschagal slowly allowed her head to peek over the side of the tree trunk. She was extremely cautious, unsure as to what she would see on the other side. She eased herself up, the one golden eye that wasn't covered with a bandanna quick to scan the area. The first she noticed was.. Well, compared to her very small frame, the being was huge. As she took that in she figured she could be torn to shreds by this guy, for she wasn't too skilled of a fighter. In fact, Raschagal was unsure as to how she had managed to survive by her lonesome in the woods for seventy years..

She kept her head low, but she continued to watch the being as he maneuvered about. She watched him remove his shirt and place it, with his things, down on the ground. She surveyed that a moment, wondering if there was anything that would be valuable to steal.. However, her gaze returning to him, she realized it wouldn't be worth it. She'd just remain there, until he left.. or until he found her. Then she'd haul ass into the trees. She decided this as she watched him turn to look about the lake, her body sulking down so her head was perfectly hidden behind the trunk, her heart pounding.

I have to get out of here somehow, she thought to herself. She quickly looked about her, designated her "exit" to her side, and started to gather her things.. But then, her foot slipped. Seated at a bit of an incline it was easy for the dirt below to avalanche down that incline, and her foot ended up landing right in the water. She gasped suddenly as it occurred, and she quickly drew it back. But the deed was done, and the noise was made. Crap! she snapped at herself mentally, preparing herself..

Kaess, having finished his warm up, was just about to jump into the water, when he heard Raschagal sliding down the incline and the gasp that followed. 'What was that.' He spun in her direction, kicking up a bit water, seeing her retracting her leg from the water. 'Oh, wonder how that happened. Oh well better make sure she is alright.' He started to move forward offering a helping hand up. "You alright there? Can I help?"

Kaess was a little nervous as it was a complete stranger, but he didn't sense any hostility yet. He scratched the back of his head a bit while still holding out his right hand to help her up. "That fall sounded fairly bad. If you are wounded I can help, I know a bit of healing magic, so just tell me if anything hurts." He tried to smile, but as usual he was unsure of the effect since sometimes people took this the wrong way, because of his draconic features. He also noted that she didn't look that well fed. However, he decided to wait for her to speak before offering food. 'Why am I never good in these situations, it always feels so awkward...'
