| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Slade shook his head with a smile. He was limping slightly, still wrapped in bandages from his injuries in the Underdark. But he was at least up and about, even if Fara wasn't letting him do any real work. She was carrying the picnic basket. He grinned. It had taken him a week of asking for a date to get here, and now he and Fara were going on a picnic at the lake. He was ecstatic, but inwardly, he was worried. In his current state, if something were to go wrong, he'd be more in the way than any help. He resolved to make a request of Fara at some point during the date, and then concentrated on finding a good spot. Which he easily found one, underneath an overhanging willow tree, soft grass underneath. "So. Is THIS a good enough spot? Or is there something wrong with it too like the last six places I found?" |

Fara're turned and smiled as Slade. It had taken him so long to convince her to go on a date because she was concerned for his health. Well now he was finally strong enough to walk on his own without tiring quickly. Though....she still enjoyed annoying him a bit by carrying everything. "Nothing was wrong with the last six spots," she said. "I was just enjoying walking with you and was not ready to stop. But now I am and this place is perfect." She set the basket down and sat down on the soft grass. She motioned for Slade to sit next to her. It was nice being able to be alone with Slade. Since he had returned their was almost always some else there or someone near by. It was also nice to be able to get out of the guild hall where no prying eyes were watching her. Being a leader of the guild did not exactly give her the best of privacy sometimes. And as much as she loved Chris, it was great to be able to just have some one on one time with her man. When Slade joined her she gave him a peck on the cheek. "Its nice to get out huh?" she said. |

He laughed. "I thought as much. Not that I minded. It's good to actually be able to walk around." He braced the head of his staff, which he had been using as a crutch just to be safe, against the base of the tree, and lowered himself to sit at her side. He smiled when she kissed him on the cheek, and turned to press his lips to hers for a moment, before leaning back against the tree. He laid the staff aside, shaking his head. "I didn't think we'd EVER get a moment alone. I mean, yeah, Chris is adorable now that he technically has a dad, but sometimes the attention can be annoying." He shook his head. "Cute kid, but yeah." He sighed, closing his eyes for a few moments. He wasn't exhausted like he normally would have been, but he needed to rest. |

Fara're smiled as Slade made himself comfortable next to her. She let out a small laugh as he said the samething she was thinking. That it seemed near impossible that they would ever have time alone. Then he brought up Chris. When he called the boy annoying she glared at him. Though...the small smirk took away from the fierce glare. "Hey careful about what you say about my boy!" she said sharply. Though it was quite obivious she was teasing. She then leaned forward and opened up their basket. A small towel was laid on top. She pulled that out and spread it out on the ground so they would have something to place their food on. The weretiger then began to pull out various fruits, chesses, meats, and breads. |

His eyes being closed, he didn't see the glare. But he laughed, a deep, happy laugh. "Hey, technically he's MY boy too now," he said, and then opened his eyes, sitting back up. He sighed, shaking his head. "But you do have a point. He's really a good kid." He glanced over all the food. "I feel like a Christmas turkey. You fattening me up for the slaughter?" he asked jokingly, a teasing smile on his face. "Not that I mind. If it means eating this well, I wouldn't mind being slaughtered." He laughed, grabbing for a piece of cheese. |

Fara're placed her hand on top of Slade's and leaned in a bit. She gave him a soft kiss on his cheek. "Nothing of the sort," she said. "I have no plans on slaughtering you. But...you have lost a lot of weight and need to put some back on. And not all of this was lost during your healing time...you were not taking care of yourself while you were away. You really should know better." She picked up a piece of bread and then selected a cheese. After placing the cheese on the bread she popped it into her mouth. The cheese had a nice sharp kick to it and the bread complemented it very well. She made another combination like this and held it up to Slade's lips. "Open up," she said with a smile playing across her face. |

He laughed. "I know you're not going to slaughter me, Fara. I was JOKING. My sense of humor is back to normal at least," he said, shaking his head with a grin. "But I do appreciate you helping me get my weight back up." He wasn't scared to admit, he'd lost a lot of weight during the three weeks he spent searching his soul. He looked over at her when she made her comment about him not taking care of himself. "Fara, I thought you didn't care about me at all," he said, shaking his head. "How could I be expected to take care of myself? I have to admit I had a bit of a death wish for a little while there." When she held the cheese and bread combination out to him, he laughed, and opened his mouth, taking it carefully from her hand, chewing slowly. "Mm. That's not bad," he said, shaking his head. "I don't know how you do it, but you always pick the best pairings." |

Fara're shrugged at his question. "Don't know," she said. "Maybe I just have a nack for it. Some people have said it is due to my hightened sense...but I am not so sure about that." She picked up another morsal and popped it into her mouth. She gave slade a fond smile before leaning against him. Her head rested back on his shoulder. The weretiger was careful to put too much of her weight on him. She did not want to cause him pain since he was still healing form his wounds. He had been a stubborn one and had not allowed the healers to use as much magical healing as she would have liked. Her entire body relaxed against him and she let out a content sigh. "Just a few months ago, had someone told me I would fall in love, I would have laughed. It does not seem that long ago that I was 'wild' and would let nothing tie me down," she said. "I guess I thought that if I let something tie me down I would be missing out on something. Then I gained control of the guild...then met Chris...and finally you. I am now tied to so many things...but I have learned that just because you are tied to something it does not mean you are missing out on anything. Instead I realize I was missing out on so much more when I was free and wild." She shook her head before nuzzeling his neck with a soft purr. "I have never been happier than I am now....with you," she said softly. |

He smiled, but didn't say what was on his mind for a bit, making sure he wouldn't be interrupting. He wrapped his arm tightly around her as she snuggled against him, shaking his head. He knew what was probably going through her mind. But he'd explained to both her and the healers that he wanted it to heal at as close to normal speed as possible. He smiled, and turned, kissing her on the top of her head. "I know how you mean, Fara. I would have done the same thing, especially since I'm the reason the last woman I fell in love with died." He sighed, shaking his head. "It's a long story I don't want to go into right now," he said, smiling again as she said what she did at the end. He sighed. "I've never been happier than I am with you, either," he said, smiling as he slightly tightened his hug on her for a moment. He then sighed again. "Fara, I have a question. I feel... well, next to you I feel as weak as a child. I was wondering if perhaps you might consider making me like you? A lycanthrope, I mean," he said, looking over at her. "I just feel like... if something should happen, gods forbid, and your life was in danger, I wouldn't be able to do a damn thing to protect you without getting in the way," he said, shaking his head. "Please, Fara. I've never really asked you to do anything this serious for me. I need this to protect you better." |

Fara're let out a soft purr as Slade wrapper his arms around her. It was always so comfortating when he embrased her. She felt like she could completely relax and not worry about a thing in the world. But when he asked his question she tensed. Slowly she sat up and pulled herself out of his embrase. The look in her eyes was not a happy one, nor did she appear to be angry. Instead she seemed sad or worried. Slowly she shook her head. "No, Slade," she said softly. "I won't bite you. You don't know what can happen to someone who becomes infected with lycanthorpy. Most people go insane and become nothing but a beast." She sighed and shook her head again. She reached out stroked his face. "You are stronger than you think you are, Slade. You will never be 'getting in the way.' You don't need this." Her hand dropped from his face and came to rest on his hand. Her gaze was down and she did not look at him. She wish hed had not asked this of her. He did not, could not understand. She had seen many people, strong people, completely loose themselves after being biten by a werecreature. Even she, who had been born a lycant stuggled against her beastial nature when ever she grew angry or was in a desperate fight. She did not want Slade to suffer the same things she had. |

He held up his hands, gesturing rapidly. "That's fine. If you don't want to put me through that, I'm not going to push. I am going to say one thing, however. I think that I could handle it. I love you enough to go through ANYTHING to keep your safe," he said, and then, remarkably for him, he dropped the subject. "I personally think you and I should go deal with that damnable rat in the swamp," he said, shaking his head. "Vernon is beginning to cause some SERIOUS problems for us. And I don't like having an enemy living on our doorstep, practically," he said, grabbing a piece of bread as well as a slice of cheese. He popped the two into his mouth, and then looked over at her. "You know what I mean, hun?" he said, shaking his head. He sighed, and then looked around. "I always feel like, every time I leave the keep, like he's going to pop up and attack me." He snorted. "Not that I'm worried about him at all," he said, chuckling. "I can take him down with three strikes. And if he stays up, I can get away," he said, tapping one of his booted feet against the other, the wings on the ankles fluttering slightly. He shrugged. "I know you've said no one from the guild is supposed to go near him, but I'm half tempted to go after him tomorrow," he said softly, not sure if she would be able to hear him or not. |

Fara're let out a relieved sigh when he did not push the subject. She was grateful for that. There was no way she was going to bite him...he just did not understand what could go wrong. Her golden eyes looked up when he mentioned Vernon. "Don't worry about him Slade," she said softly. "The rodent mostly stays in his swamps. I will go after him one of these days...but the swamp is his territory...we can't just go running in without a plan." She then leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. "But please...don't bring up such topics. Let us just enjoy the day and not worry about our enemies, the guild, or anything else," she said. "I just want to relax." She moved closer and leaned against him again. As she settled in her whole body relaxed once more, a small smile on her face. |

He nodded. “I’m sorry, Fara. I’m just worried about him being as close to us as he is.” He shook his head. “You are right, though,” he said, shaking his head again. “Just one more thing. When you do go to take care of him, make sure you let me know. I don’t like you dealing with these things alone,” he said. He nodded. “So what are we going to talk about? I’m sorry if talking doesn’t count as relaxing, but I can’t… I’ve been quiet for almost a month now,” he said, shaking his head with a wry grin. “I was glad I could keep you happy by not talking much, but I can’t take much more of it. So I HAVE to do some talking.” When she moved up against him, he held her softly, his arm wrapping around her shoulder as she leaned on his side, shaking his head with a soft smile. “I love these moments, Fara. Please promise me they won’t be few and far between?” he said softly. |
