| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

As she laughed and ran, Gwen fell behind, laughing herself. Eliel joined in, picking up his pace the smallest bit, so he started gaining on her. “Oh yeah? I bet you I'm the fastest kid there is!” He jumped over a root, looking around at the path. It seemed to lower into a sort of trench here, baring many more roots. “Be careful dear!” He jumped again, just barely clearing one, only to get swatted in the face by a branch. Rubbing his nose, he slowed down, grumbling. |

"Nuh uh! You're not even a kid!" Sarah yelled, her voice probably louder than it needed to be. The sound of the wind as it whirled past her ears was near deafening though, and her feet pounding against the earth was hardly any softer. She leaped over the roots that were in her path, her breathing starting to become heavy. She ignored his warning to be careful, but in doing so, Sarah's bare foot caught on an exposed root. With a scream, Sarah's arms flailed out in front of her and she fell face first into the ground, rolling down a slight hill that presented itself within the trench they'd ventured into. Once she'd stopped rolling, Sarah heaved for breath and let her head fall back against the ground, groaning loudly. "Ow..." |

Eliel grinned at her comment. “Not on the outside.” He smiled proudly. Gwen rolled her eyes, calling out so he could hear her as well as Sarah. “He just means he's immature.” Eliel stuck his tongue out again. Looking forward once more, he saw the hill before anything happened. “Sarah!” He yelled out, seeing her trip and roll. Still a ways behind, he barked a quick word, disappearing and teleporting to her side in an instant. Eyebrows raised, he looked over her. “Are you okay?” He asked as Gwen popped into being next to him. |

Sarah gazed up at him, her green eyes somewhat dazed from her fall. Lifting her hands up to cover her eyes, she groaned again, bending her knees and trying to stand. She whimpered softly, regretting making the noise. It was soft, but she didn't like looking like she was in pain. "My ankle hurts," she said. "And so do my toes." |

Eliel's face softened, a sad look on his face. Likely she'd managed to sprain her ankle, or worse. But the diagnosis could wait until they were home. Looking at Gwen for help, she shrugged. Neither of them had any real experience in healing. Gwen rarely got touched, and both of them had vampiric weapons to heal them, Eliel's sword and her collar. Turning to look at the girl, he smiled reassuringly. “Want me to carry you, milady?” He asked, trying to make his voice sound humbled. |

Uh oh. He looked sad. Was he disappointed? Did he not like her anymore because she'd hurt herself? Sarah pouted a little bit, looking up at him for only a few more moments before looking at her ankle. It hurt really badly... she didn't remember hurting herself like that before. But maybe she was exaggerating. Her face lit up, though, at the idea of being carried. "Piggy back?!" she exclaimed excitedly. |

Eliel chuckled at her request, happy that she didn't seem too bad off. “Of course. Though we don't have a saddle, so you'll have to put up with me.” He winked, turning his back to her front and bending low. “Hold on to my shoulders.” He instructed, placing his hands under her legs and lifting her up. Gwen smiled at the two, her arms crossed casually. “I'm going to make the trip fast, okay?” He asked, planning to teleport several times on the short trip. |

"That's fine. I'm not used to saddles anyway," Sarah said. She propped herself up once he leaned over in front of her, grasping his shoulders and shimmying up his back. It was easier once he'd lifted her by her legs. Sarah locked her hands at his collar bone, resting her head on his shoulder next to his ear. "Okay, that's fine!" she said. "But not too fast. I want to be able to know how to get back and forth from home!" She'd need recognizable structures if she ever got lost. Which, knowing her, was quite likely. |
