| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

It had been some time since the incident with Chris and the bandits and things were returning to normal. There was one little thing though in the past norm didn’t appeal to him quite as much. Having spent so much time around them, Fara’re and Chris began having a bigger impact on him. Each in their own way. Chris gave him a sense of responsibility which he never really had before, although he sure felt responsible for a number of things that went wrong. This was a different sort of responsibility though. Then there was Fara… She made him so much happier when he saw her. She was always there to save the day and make sure everyone was out of harms way. That’s when Tracyn’s job came in too, to clean up the mess. There was just something in how things were that put him a little off, like a sort of disappointment which drove him to what he was going to do today. Chris was off doing something, and probably wouldn’t be back in a while. Bandits hadn’t proved to be a problem ever since that day which made Tracyn quite content to let him frolic about in the forest. Chris aside though, his biggest focus right now was Fara. Swallowing as this was the first time he had ever done something of the sort he walked over to where the weretiger was and gave a small wave to catch her attention. “Hey there Fara… uh I was just wondering but do you want to go for a picknick? It’s a great day, and would be a shame to put it to waste inside a cave…” He blushed slightly and smiled. Hopefully she would accept, and possibly get the meaning he thought he made fairly clear about it. As much as he would try to avoid directly saying it: he wanted to take her out on a date. |

When Tracyn came up Fara're gave him a friendly smile. "Hey Tracyn!" she greeted. "Was just about to go looking for you." She cocked her head as she listened to him. "Well..." she said. "I was actually going to suggest we head to the lake. You still need a lot of training you know. And today would be a great day for that. If you want to bring food for us after your training, feel free." She went over to where she stored her food. She grabbed a bag and began packing some stuff. A few pieces of fruit, some bread, and a bit of dried meat for herself. She left some out for Chris in case he came back before they did. She handed the bundle to Tracyn for him to carry. "Okay...first thing. Race me to the lake," she said. She gave him a mere second to process what she just said before she bolted out the cave enterence at top speed. |

“Oh, I guess so…” he hid the grimace. That wasn’t what he had meant at all. Tracyn shook his head and grabbed some food stuff. Well it couldn’t be so bad right? They’d do a little training, and then they’d have some time after for what he had originally planned. Before he could even finish thinking she was off in a blur. Tracyn shook his head and took off in a sprint after her, she had showed him up plenty of times before when it came to races. The race this time would be a good bit closer if he could do anything about it. With a food basket hanging from his shoulder he hurtled by branches and overturned logs. Fara had a lead on him though despite his efforts, but if she had fallen into a state of confidence which meant she wouldn’t accelerate much more he’d be slowly gaining on her. If he was lucky, at this rate he would pass her or at least reach the lake the same time as her. Tracyn grew closer and shouted out ahead to her, “This wasn’t what I had in mind!” he took a step past a few crumbling rocks and then around another tree. “…and I’m not going to let you win so easily this time!” When it looked like he was about to over take her his shirt snagged. “No no no!” It was hopeless though, it had become entangled with a bundle of branches and he groaned helplessly as he watched the possibility of winning slip away. The healer sighed and began to tug himself free, bit by bit from the branches’ embrace. |

Fara're glanced over her shoulder to see that Tracyn had snagged his shirt on something. She smirked. Good that would give her just enough time... She quicked her pace and soon left the werewolf behind. She turn around a large oak and was out of sight. Without slowing her pace she leapt up and grabbed onto a tree branch and lifted herself into the tree. As soon as she was in the shadows of the branches she tapped into her shadow dancer powers. Mere moments later she had completely melded in with the shadows. When Tracyn ran by her he would have no idea where she was. He did not know this, but this was actually part of his training. To learn how to be aware of ones surroundings and not be caught unaware. She was curious to see how the healer would do against her in this little test. |

Tracyn freed himself and began running back towards the lake; she surely had won by now. If that was so, he didn’t want to keep her waiting. Tracyn shook his head and slipped around another tree. She did have those powers though didn’t she? Like when they were racing in the lake a while ago. Tracyn’s eyes narrowed and he began to think that she had used them to give her an edge. Luck would have it that his train of thought would save him from a possibly much more serious case of embarrassment. In his heightened sense of caution Tracyn began to pick up a faint change in density, the change was in the increase of Fara’s scent. Why was there a slightly higher concentration here? That didn’t make much sense unless… Tracyn gulped, she was hiding somewhere nearby. “F-fara? You out there?” Tracyn looked around though it was a useless gesture, she would be impossible to see in the conditions he found himself in. Perhaps he could get out of her target zone if she really was here. The healer began moving perpendicularly to the path he had just taken, it would take him a little bit longer but maybe it would keep him away from any sort of devious plot Fara’re had in mind. |

Fara're had activated her boots of flying and was now floating above the trees. She could see Tracyn below. He had noticed that she was not there, and had figured something was up. Well at least that was good. But could he figure out where she would come from? That would be the test. Without warning Fara're suddenly dropped down from the sky towards him. If he did not notice her in time she would most likely land on top of him. And she was coming down with enough force that is would probably knock him over. Fara're knew this trick might be a bit mean...but she had suffered worse while she was still trained by her master. This was going to help the healer learn to sense enemies without being able to see or smell them. It was having this 'sixth sense' that had save Fara're's own life on more than one occassion. She sure it would help Tracyn if he could learn it as well. |

Tracyn glanced around nervously. This was really starting to get at him, he knew she had to be plotting something now and he bet she was enjoying every moment of his confusion. Why did the trainer always delight in the annoyance of the trainee? It was always the case so it seemed. The healer paused and looked around himself again. There was a faint, almost inaudible sound coming from somewhere. If only he had looked up he might have spotted the descending form. There was finally a quiet ruffle that did indeed make him glance up, but by then she was already on him and thus he was pinned flat to the ground. The healer groaned and looked back over his shoulder to give Fara an accusing glare. As usual though it held no real force as it was more playful than anything. Tracyn sighed and gave a faint smile, “I’d have to say that you got me.” he laughed, but of course was still pinned. She might not have been the heaviest thing in the world but it was enough to keep him down in the dirt. Tracyn wiggled a little so that he was on his back; it made the strain on his neck a little less annoying when he tried to look at her. He couldn’t help the faint blush that crept onto his face given the position, though he was doing his best not to turn to mush. Tracyn smiled sheepishly, “At least I got pinned by someone pretty?” A mental slap was in order, that whole sentence was about as awkward sounding in afterthought. “I mean you are really pretty…” He glanced to the side, like that helped the situation at all? If she could read his thoughts she’d probably be a laughing fit at the moment. It was a good thing that she couldn’t then, right? |

As expected Tracyn did not notice her in time. She now had the healer pinned under her. She smirked at his surprise. He then called her pretty. She flashed him a smile. "Why thank you," she said. "But don't think that flattery will get you out of training." She then got up and took the food basket from where it was on the ground. She waited for Tracyn to get up. It was starting to move towards noon, and closer to lunch time. But she was not going to let him get his meal that easily. "I have a little training exerise for you," she said with a smirk. "This should help strengthen you." She then activated her flying boots once more and lifted into the air, food in toe. She flew up to the tallest tree near by and place the food on its top branch. She checked it to make sure it was secure and would not slip out. Once that was finished she floated back down to the ground. "You can eat when you get the food back down here," she said. |

Tracyn sighed as she slipped past him and over to the basket. At least she had liked the complement. However, she had taken his lunch! Not only that, but tucked it away in a tree? Oh the cruelty that she was inflicting. Tracyn made a face at her before walking over to the tree to size up the challenge. The tree was completely lacking in all branches within reach which meant that the using the limbs as ladder rungs was out of the question. Tracyn looked to the trees next to it and the case was more or less true. Some did have branches at a reasonable level, but they were certainly too fragile to put much weight on let alone a grown human. It then occurred to Tracyn, when it seemed like there was no means to climb this tree, that he had once heard of people using a rope or similar tool to wrap around a poll and climb it thus. The healer nodded and did one more check to be sure that there wasn’t an easier method. Smacking the tree was definitely out of the question. Tracyn gave Fara a grin and a: “like that’ll stop me?” look. The healer slipped off his shirt and gauged the length to the tree’s width and nodded as he figured how well it would work. He walked up to the tree and tossed one end of the shirt around and caught it with his other hand. With the shirt now wrapped around the tree, and in both of his hands, he gave a short bounce before hugging himself against the tree. So far so good; he was at least off the ground. Tracyn then wrapped his legs around the tree and shifted his shirt further up before tugging his weight against the shirt which elevated him further up it. This process continued for a while before he neared the branch of his desired lunch. Then the healer realized that he had forgotten something rather important: how to get it back down. In his current predicament he couldn’t exactly just let go with his hands and grab it. Tracyn gave a sigh before putting this issue to greater thought. It would be simple enough to get the basket down, but the result might be a bit more traumatic for the food. He could try holding on sans an arm though, which probably was exactly what he was resorting to. Releasing the shirt with one hand only to grasp the bark of the tree with it as efficiently as possible, Tracyn tried to loop the shirt around the basket with his one free hand. It actually worked and Tracyn tugged the basket off the branch gently, only to have it slide to a peaceful stop and the bottom of the shirt. Tracyn gave a silent cheer for his accomplishment. Now he just had to get down. Tracyn, between his free hand and teeth, managed to make a very basic knot in the shirt which he then put around his neck so that the basket rested against his back. With the return of his hand he was able to slowly slide down the tree. With a huff he settled back on land again and gave Fara another grin. “So when do we eat?” he untied the basket, slipping the shirt over his shoulder, and offered it to her. |
