| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Evals held Cassiel against the back of the Undead Dragon as it flew over the land. Broken arm too, pulled back and being pushed against her upper back to keep her from squirming too much. Everytime she moved Evals would push her arm up a bit higher and tightened her grip on the broken bones. The sky was getting quite dim as the sun edged closed to the horizon. It would set within the hour and then Cass would be in the Hauntwood Marsh in the darkness, this was getting more and more interesting by the minute. Over the Norwood forest, the Dragon descended into the trees and stood still, she picked the girl up in her arms and held her around the waist as she jumped off the side of the Dragon. The marsh was starting off in a meter or too and she put Cassiel onto the ground and pulled her forward a bit, very roughly before throwing her into the beginning of the muck that was there. "Ok, you now have a chance at leaving here... You can stay here on your own, or you can apologize for insulting me and come back, promise won't hurt you anymore after that." Evals said trying to make her offer warm sounding, though knew how stubborn Cass was and wouldn't accept. She reached into her pocket and pulled out the stuffed rabbit she picked up from the floor before leaving. She tossed it at Cass for her to catch, if she could in her condition. "Also you can have your bunny now, keep it for which ever option you chose." |

The screaming spell had stopped a long time ago, but it had still taken its toll on her. Cassiel's throat was raw and felt like it was burning, and drops of blood steadily dripped from her ears. She wondered if struggling against Evals was even worth it anymore. After all she had gone through, was there a point? Her steadfastness had only gotten her into more and more trouble... so why should she even try to get away? Once they landed Cassiel let out a soft sound of reluctance when Evals began to pull her. It was all the sound she could currently muster; she felt like she was falling apart. After falling into the muck, Cassiel wrinkled her face in disgust and tried to hug herself. This was absolutely revolting; it was sticking to her in places she didn't even know she had. "I won't apologize," she said weakly, her voice raspy. "You're a liar." A spark came to her eyes when Evals pulled out her bunny. The lifelessness melted away for a brief moment and she pulled Mr. Flufflekins into the tight security of her arms. "Why did you do this to me..." she trailed off, beginning to cry again. |

Evals chuckled to herself and wondered at the girl's chance of survival in this situation. Vernon? Something bad would definitely happen, she expected Death. Well, Vernon would most likely toy with her first and if not eat her flesh afterwards. She still shrugged at the chuckle. "Your choice. Have fun with the Rat." She said as she started to walk abck to the Dragon, she would want to see what happened here so Amas was watching Cass from the tree's, he hooted once as he faded from the material realm to get closer without being seen but still watched, the world around him looked like ghost as he saw himself as physical, this was how Evals saw through one of her eyes as she watched Cass. She heard the girl started to cry, still, kept on walking before she got on the Dragon and it took off leaving the girl alone in the marsh and soon enough in the darkness of a spring night with a hungry rat. She didn't expect to figure out how to explain any of this to Seth or Nikki, it won't go well at all. Though she wasn't worried about that right now. What could possibly go wrong anyways? If they can find a body they can revive it anyways. One last thing, having been holding Cass by the arm earlier, she inflicted a Necrose Curse into her which would turn her into an Undead in a week or so if she survived, unless the curse was cured. It was just something for a just incase she survived. |

The rat? Cassiel's brows furrowed and she watched as Evals retreat back to the dragon. Finally... finally she was leaving. With a grunt Cassiel pushed herself back to her feet, although the muck was sticky and tried to swallow her up. She clung Flufflekins as if for dear life and yanked her feet free from the yucky stuff, trying her hardest to walk. She didn't know how Evals had gotten her here, so she didn't know the way back - but she wasn't about to surrender and leave with the zombie. She would only hurt her worse. Trying not to cry more than she already was, Cassiel attempted to not focus on the ugly looking place and whimpered every time her clothes got caught on something or her feet began to sink again. How the hell was she supposed to get out of here?! "Don't be afraid, Flufflekins," she said, stroking the plush's fake fur. "I'll get us out of here. I promise." She kissed the bunny's head and continued walking, unaware that she was getting closer to peril rather than farther from it. |

Vernon was curious when the beating wings of a dragon came to his ears. Headed his way, but not yet over the marsh. Likely either a bounty hunter or someone looking to get rid of a few bodies, hopefully still living. Either way it was something Vernon had to look into. Vernon swiftly made his way toward the dragon. Strange scents came form it. The bothersome zombie he had met earlier, that had fled from him...twice, couldn't quite recall her name though. The other scent not belonging to the Dragon was Seth's yet strangely it was also not Seth. A relative and female. Before he could even see her he could label the creature as Seth's daughter. For this he decided he might consider absolving the zombie girl of her crimes of trespass. Vernon disliked the idea of trying to keep her alive, but this was not exactly about her. No, this encounter would be about the father who would soon come to find his child one way or another. Vernon was quite annoyed to have his play time with the aaismar cut short, but this might more than make up for it and the best part was that Vernon had every right to do what ever he pleased, which would possibly send waves of conflict through the peaceful little angelkin. Vernon hid out of sight and keep his scent from giving him away while the zombie dropped off the girl and near promptly fled. By the time Vernon was actually near the girl the sound of the dragon's wings were distant, though there was the odd scent of an owl with ectoplasm. Perhaps the Zombie's spy. There was no harm in leaving it be at present so Vernon kept his attention on his more lively guest. "I see the zombie has brought me another slave," Vernon mused as he stepped into the moonlight. "I guess Seth really doesn't love you if you're here," Vernon grinned as he approached. Three Musfa promptly lept from Vernon's shoulder's and and dashed for Cassiel. They had little concern for her, only the fluffy bunny. Each of the squirrel like creatures wanted the fluffy thing to themselves. Of course the stuffed animal was flimsy enough that they would be forced to share after ripping it in five different directions. |

Cassiel turned the moment she heard a voice, a knot forming in her aching throat at what he said. Evals brought her here to be a slave? She should have known... either way she was being dealt hell. She hadn't done anything wrong, she didn't deserve this, she shouldn't have been in this position! Only mean people deserved to be in this much pain, not princesses like her! Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the rat and she tried to stop breathing as well, noticing how stinky he was. It was almost worse than the entire swamp... But her eyes widened when he said that Seth didn't love her. "B-But! But he does! Seth does love me and Nikki does too!" she shrieked, feeling the need to defend them. This wasn't their fault, this rat shouldn't be bringing her guardians into this. As he began to approach, Cassiel felt her stomach churn in fear and she began to step backward, or at least try. Her little feet were still sticking in the muddy ground and she whimpered, seeing the rather hostile-looking squirrels. Once they dashed for her Cassiel gasped and turned on her heel, doing the only thing she thought she could do at the time. Despite the fact that the ground was yucky and kept pulling her in, Cassiel ran as fast as she could, her one arm hanging limply at her side since it had been rendered useless and the other clutching her stuffed rabbit even tighter to her chest. She wished she had had the time to grab the dagger she kept under her pillow, then she might have at least had a chance! "Leave me alone, sir!" she called weakly, her voice raspy, cracking between syllables and absolutely weak. She wasn't even sure if he would hear her. |

The half-fairy was related too? Oh this was just deliciously rich. Oh what fun there was to be had. "Oh? If they loved you so much why would they leave you in the care of some undead witch? They may have not known she was a slave driver, but they had to know she menacing and prone to violence. They'd only leave you with her to punish you," Vernon grinned as he mirrored her pace. It was quite clear the zombie had had some fun with the girl already, judging by her arm and the mild rotting smell coming from the girl likely had something to do with the zombie as well. The musfa were more accustomed to running through the muck than their prey. Despite the selfish muck the musfa made no sounds as they gained on Cass and the doll she clutched tightly. They were quite curious as to the fluffy creature's insides and would have their curiosity sated at any cost, even though there wasn't much of a cost involved. "Now cease your running and come to me, unless of course you favor the sting of a whip over a kindly tongue," Vernon snickered as he brought a hand over his whip. Chances were she wouldn't comply which made the offer all the more fun. It was fun when they didn't deserve their punishment, but it was simply downright delightful when they deserved it due to their own foolishness. |

"They'd only leave you with her to punish you." No... no, that wasn't true! That couldn't be true! Seth and Nikkolai loved her. They had promised to buy her ponies, they had acted like her parents! Seth had saved her life, he had offered her a place to stay, and Nikkolai always read her bedtime stories when she asked and tucked her in! Why then... why would they subject her to this? Did they hate her? They hated her just like everyone else did, didn't they?! Tears burned her eyes. Out of everything that had happened, from getting her arm smashed to her hand becoming near useless, to screaming until her throat was raw and her ears bled... thinking they didn't love her hurt the most. How was it even possible? How could they lie to her like that?! How could anyone make up such a hurtful lie, whether it was Seth and Nikki or Vernon's doing? Cassiel couldn't run in this anymore. Her feet finally sunk in where she couldn't pull them out and she tripped, falling into a heap on the ground. She pulled her legs in and did her best to curl into a ball, but when Vernon spoke of whipping her her head shot up. Through her silver hair her violet eyes were visible and her lips curled back into a defiant snarl before she spat at him. "That's my answer, Mr. Mouse," she said. |

If only he could see the emotion play on her face as she ran. The torment plastered upon it had to be utterly delightful. Vernon slowed his advanced after she crumpled into a ball. He was most amused when she not only declined the offer but also opted to spit at him. "A good choice, being kind to slaves it's quite nearly as fun as punishing them," Vernon snickered as he flung his whip back. In a swift motion he sent it bite into the flesh of her exposed back. He wonder the girl had magical potential akin to her father. Probably not, she'd likely have exhausted her magic in trying to deal with the zombie. The musfa crowded around the girl's front, annoyed that shielded Flufflekins with her body, arm, and the ground beneath her. It would have been so much easier to get to their prize while she was still running. Now they had to wait for recoils of pain to open opportunity or at least for Vernon to to get her up on her feet. "So, tell me,why do you think your father loves you," Vernon grinned before giving her another good lashing. The whip sapped her vital force and magic, but it was a shame there wouldn't be much by way of wounds until he drained her magic. He'd give her time to answer, after all he wanted more room to play with her thoughts. |

"I'm not... your slave." She didn't belong to him, she didn't belong to anyone. If he planned on keeping her as a slave then he would learn that Cassiel didn't do anything she didn't want to do. There was no forcing her into anything; everyone who ever met her seemed to learn this in due time. As the whip collided with the flesh of her back, Cassiel's eyes went wide and she tried to scream, but all that came out was a desperate, agonized squeak. Her back arched and she whimpered once the pain subsided, clenching her eyes shut so that she wouldn't have to look at the beady-eyed musfa that had gathered around her. They were like vultures waiting for her to die so they could pick at her rotting flesh.... The whip came at her again and she bit her lip, unable to scream even though she wanted to. Her back felt wet, but she couldn't tell if that was because of the muck or if she was, perhaps, bleeding. She wasn't going to turn and look though, too afraid that the musfa would try to get her or Flufflekins while she wasn't looking. Again the pain subsided after a few moments to a dull, albeit very present, stinging, at which point she decided to answer him. "He wouldn't keep me around if he didn't love me..." she said. "They always make time for me and they do anything I ask! Why do you care anyway? Just the fact that he takes care of me is enough proof... i-isn't it?" Doubt suddenly crossed her features. What if it really was a sham? |

"Children abandoned in my marsh fall into two categories, Lunch and slaves. I'm sure no matter what the zombie did you favor your life enough to prefer the later," Vernon grinned as he watched her before licking the blood off of the whip's blades. She was delicious just like her father. Perhaps he should reconsider which category she should fall under. If he killed her he'd get to enjoy her flesh decayed which would be even more tasteful. There wouldn't even be a body left over for Vernon to even point her father two. Perhaps he could lie and say she left or better yet make jewelry out her bones. He wondered how well they would appreciate that. The expression on their face would surely be priceless. "I care because, I always care about my pets and slaves. Not so sure the same can be said of your father to his daughter," Vernon snickered as he began to advance towards Cassiel. Now to take advantage of the shadow of doubt the little girl had showed. "Let us review. He didn't keep you around when he left you with the zombie. You probably told him not to leave you with an undead necromancer, but he did anyways and she brought you here. You've managed to get your arm broken and probably witnessed other atrocities better left unnamed, doesn't sound like your father is taking good care of you," Vernon grinned as he lightly dragged a clawed finger along her back. Not quite enough to break the skin, at least not yet anyways. |

Lunch?! What the hell?! "You wouldn't eat me!" she exclaimed. "People only eat each other in stories!" Really, really twisted stories - but the hero always came in at the end to save those who were suffering. Being so young, Cassiel didn't think that stories could ever have unhappy endings - well, most of them at least. She could just feel him coming closer to her, not to mention smell him. The stench that clung to him was thick and suffocating, she didn't even know how she had lasted this long in his presence. His words continued to cut her. She wasn't a pet, she wasn't a slave, and "My father loves me! And so does mommy!" At least, she tried to convince herself of that. There were too many conflicting details, how could she possibly figure out the truth?! "doesn't sound like your father is taking good care of you." He... he was right... But he couldn't be! Seth and Nikki treated her like a daughter! Hell, they treated her better than her last set of parents had too. The acted like a family, they took care of her, they took care of each other. So why... why did she believe this rat who had only harmed her in the time she was here? Because he was right. Grief swept over her. She was a burden to them, wasn't she? She knew how exasperated they became when dealing with her, she knew she was a handful. She probably got on their nerves with how much she asked for and how little she gave in return and after she almost killed Nikki - Dear gods, they hated her, didn't they? Cassiel's heart felt like it was breaking in two. The parts of her that hadn't been injured were now hurting like the rest of her poor little body did. She tried to curl into an even tighter ball when he ran a claw down her back, not wanting to look at him or acknowledge anything in the world - not even Flufflekins. "Just leave me alone, mister," she begged. "I didn't do nuffin' to you! I didn't do nuffin' to anyone so just let me be!" |

Vernon could not help but laugh when she mentioned that such things only happened in stories. Such innocence was so cute and delightfully delicious, Vernon would have such fun defiling it. Vernon was curious at the mention of mommy, but no mommy named. It didn't make any sense that Nikki's name would come up before her mothers. Vernon dismissed the perplexing thought and focused on what he knew and knew how to abuse. Vernon grinned as he pulled back his hand. He shifted trough his backpack and pulled out a fair arm that formally belonged to a little elven girl. It was only slight smaller than the arm of the living child before him. To Vernon's dismay it was a recent catch and not very rotted, but it would serve its purpose well enough. The was a delightful crunch of bone as Vernon bit off the two fingers furthest from the thumb. "Little child, every story comes from somewhere," Vernon snickered as let the dead fingers of the hand run across her neck. He wondering if this was the girl's first time feeling the cold aura of death. If so he would have to see about making it memorable. "And many of those stories are based off of me," Vernon grinned as he leaned in closer. "Leaving you alone is not an option, but what I do to you is up to you. You can stand on your feet by yourself or you can give me the pleasure of making you stand," Vernon snickered. He wondered how long it would take for the child to given in. It was hard to tell but his words concerning her parents seemed to have some effect on her. |

Crunch. That sound made Cassiel gag, and she hadn't even seen the cause of it. Knowing she would probably regret it, Cassiel turned her head to look at Vernon, only to see the arm and feel the fingers against her cheek. Her heart stopped. That arm looked like her own... and two fingers were missing... oh, Gods! He'd bit them, hadn't he?! Cassiel choked on the knot in her throat and began to look around furiously. There had to be a way out! There had to be somewhere she could go to get away from him, somewhere, anywhere, anywhere at all! "You're a monster," she said, hatred filling her eyes. He was one of those scary beasts that lived in the closet or under the bed, except he was real and after her. Mommy and Daddy weren't here to save her when she called. What was she supposed to do? "Why the hell are you doing this? Why?!" Cassiel tried to hide herself when he leaned in closer to her. She was silent while she debated what she should do. It didn't take long for her to piece together a plan and she sat up, using her feet to push her back in an attempt to get further away from the rat. Once she figured she was far enough away, which was probably only about two or three feet considering her current handicaps. "You'll have to make me," she said meekly, wondering if she had chosen the right option. |

Her expression was priceless. The sheer terror that seemed to rip every part of her being was utterly delightful. Perhaps he would have to take to playing with children more often. He was amused at how well this contrasted with her father who had been loathsomely complacent and obedient. She probably took more after her mother. Vernon was amused by her feeble attempt to make herself 'safer'. There was no safety for intruders and slaves in his marsh, not even at the outskirts. "I keep you alive rather than eat you and you call me a monster? What is this world coming to?" Vernon snickered as he walked towards her once more. A long thin spike of force materialized before Vernon's index finger. A green liquid began to spread out from it's tip after it's creation. It would summon forth waves of pain to wash over her body. "Or is it that you want to die now that you know your father doesn't love you?" Vernon asked. He didn't offer much time for an answer before letting the thin missile fire off for her shoulder. No vital organs there to worry about. He let a few swings of his whip follow the needle. She was more likely to writhe in pain than stand, but would be amusing if she managed to attempt the later even if it was just to try and run away. |
