| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Ahhh," sighed H'tes pleasantly as he lay down by the lake. The sunset had come, and he was ready to just relax here for the night. After all, nothing bad happened by simply sitting by a lake, did it? (OOC: Joke to anyone who knows the old Dark Encounter Thread <.< ) It had been a long day of walking, without any food or water until he had gotten here. The day began as any other, with him waking up and off to walk. Where was he going? One could only guess, as H'tes let his instincts guide him. Of course, he had not gotten anything to eat all day, and he was terribly hungry. At last, he came upon this lake. He was able to catch fish in the lake, and drink some of the water. It had been a good day for him at that point, as he mostlyjust played in the lake, and relaxed for the rest of the day. A simple and fun day for him. And now he would just wait until dark, here at sunset, enjoying the scenary until he had to rest for the night. As far as he knew it, he was not much of a nocternal creature, so it was always best to save the night for rest, and usethe day for travel. |

Chibi watched the older looking boy from the trees for a while. She was bored and patient enough to wait for a good joke to laugh about. Though when the sun was going down she had fallen asleep in the tree and a voice from the boy awoken here and she fell out of the tree and into a bush. Followed by a quick yelp from surprise. Chibi hide herself in the bush and looked out, he was still there surprisingly. Taking a moment to wait for him to fall asleep, she moved out from the undergrowth of the surrounding forest. Her form changed into something that took the shape of a Demon. Horns, bat wings, all of that jazz. Sneaking up on him as quietly as she good. She hoped to scare the bajheezes out of this boy if she could. Still, the form was in her special form and would look cute, though it might be shadowy enough to scare him in this darkness. "Ahh!" She shouted with her clawed fingers reached out for him and hopefully loud enough to awake him. He only went to sleep a few minutes ago so he couldn't be that tired. |

H'tes would eventually fall asleep, not noticing the creature that was watching him. He fell into the void of sleep once more, and there returned to the nightmares that always waited for him. How he had remained so cheerful in the day was hard to say if one took a look into his nightmares. This particular nightmare was nothing special. Just one of the daily torture sessions, although the Lady of the Dark did take special interest in making him first watch some angel girl be tortured before he was. Build up the anticipation as it were. Of course, as always, it worked. She had always seemed to know just how to create such hours as to stick up in his head. Even in his dreams, in a time where he did not even remember it. She was just that good. Little did the creature who snuck up on him know, H'tes was frightened in his dreams, and alert in his subconcious. When her scary shouts came, it did more then just wake him up. A hiss escaped his lips as his eyes opened. He was so quick it was hard to see, but rather then wake up with the scared look on his face as she wanted, there was a... hatred. A pure hatred of all around him, especially what he focused on, which was her. There was a quick tackle as he held her down, growling at her through his teeth. His eyes seemed so inhuman, as they focused into slits, the white becoming black, the pale blue corrupting into a blood red. And then... they shifted again, H'tes going back into his normal state. "Oh," he said, surprised. What the hell had just happened? He backed off of the... odd looking person. Odd, but rather cute. "Sorry," he said. "I was... having a bad dream." |

Chibi wanted to jump out of the way when the boy lunged at her but it was too late. The eyes were scary though she didn't show any fear. It was only inside she was afraid, would this person try to kill her? Would this person wish to end the life of something this cute? Chibi instinctively transformed into a cute version of the boy before her. He then backed off and said he was sorry. A bad dream, so did she scare him or did he scare himself to being awake? She had to have triggered it, so scaring someone can cause this kind of reaction? She had to try it on her own sooner or later. Try and scare someone else to test more reactions, she had to know if everyone reacted in a killing fashion or if it was just him. She looked at him and giggled like a girl with the boy's voice behind it. She then stopped and looked up at him again. "It's ok." She said then got a serious face on her and pointed at her eyes with two fingers pointing up. They were the same color as his at this moment. They changed to the blood red he had a moment ago and then back. "Whats up with that?" She asked curiously but still serious, sounding like the boy did. |

Well, that was interesting. The creature, whatever it was, now looked like him, if he had been shrunk down to it's size and made deformedly cute. "Wow," he said, lowly. "How did you do that?" It was an instant transformation, and H'tes just found himself curious about it. How did this person do that? The creature, whatever it was, did not seem afraid. In fact, it giggled, with his own voice. It was okay? Good, that meant he did not seriously harm it in any way. She demonstrated how he had looked at the moment of rage, and H'tes looked rather shocked. He had changed his eyes? He did not even notice at all. Then again, he was not really paying attention to how everyone looked at the time. It was just this sort of violent rage that came out of nowhere, it seemed. "I..." he said, trying to think of a good answer, and finding none. "... don't really know... That's... never happened before, I don't think. Well, it could have happened before, but I wouldn't remember it. I have amnesia, you see. I don't really remember much about myself. I am not completely sure... what I am..." |

Chibi just smiled cutely when he asked her how she did it. She might answer, she might not. Maybe she shouldn't give away her secrets. Maybe it didn't matter too much what she did. "Don't worry about it cutie." Chibi said and shrugged her hands and shoulders in the air. She giggled again before running her hand through the hair on her head. It felt weird having someone else's hair though she was use to it. Looking at the boy closer when he said he didn't know what he was it was a fun guessing game. She went to inspect herself, she thought he was Human at first but she guessed not. Black blood, the red eyes. She almost wanted to say Demon but he looked too much like a Human to be one so she doubted it. "Maybe you're a Demon? Though you look too Human for that." She said before looking at her arms and did a little dance to test at her knew body for now. She stopped and looked back to the boy. "Anyways you can call me H'tes." She joked, held up an index finger and closed one eye in a wink at him. She knew his name because he was free willing to tell. She had a silly cute smile on her face as well. |

Don't worry about it. In other words, it was it's own secret to keep and H'tes was not going to get the answer any time soon. Oh well, it was cool enough that there was a way to do it. He would have to look into shapeshifting later if he was really desperate enough to get answers on it. Demon? The second time someone had associated him with that one. There had to be something to that theory, seeing as enough people seemed to think it was likely. Was he a part demon? Very likely at this point, but he still was not too sure on that one. It would be another question to wait a while longer to answer. "H'tes?" he said, suddenly bewildered. H'tes did not make the jump from in his shape to using his name. He actually thought someone else had his unusual name. "That's my name too! I didn't think anyone else would have my name, though." |

Chibi grinned oddly at the boy's response. Of course it was his name, it was where she got it from. Maybe she could have some fun with him, he seemed pretty naive already. He was having trouble with what she was even though anyone that paid attention would be able to figure it out. She giggled once more and pulled a piece of candy out of her newly shaped pockets from her newly shaped clothing. She had learned how to change her clothing along with her to make it look more realistic, even if it was in a cute small form of the original. She blinked at him again and ate the piece of candy. "Of course that's your name silly. I share your name because I am you." She said tilting her head to look at him. "Well, I am your conscience anyways." She said before nodding to herself. It was going to be fun to mess with his head a bit more. I went away for a while but I returned now. I have to catch up on what happened to you in the past months... since I was busy. Do you mind?" She giggled again, still using his voice for everything and hoped he would fall for it. Surely a lot would if they were as confused at this person was. He may ask some questions, he may just not fall for it. |

His conscience? He had a conscience that existed as a being within itself? Amazing. "Really?" he said, absolutely believing every word of it. After all, he had no reason to distrust the creature before him, so if it said it was his conscience, he would believe it until otherwise disproven. "Past few months?" H'tes asked. "Um... I only know about the last week. Which is so far my entire life as I know it. So... as farm as I know, you didn't miss much." This was, obviously, true. He knew nothing about himself aside from the past few days after waking up in the forest. It was really hard to know next to nothing about himself. Then a thought struck him. If this was his conscience, it would know something about him, right? He jumped on that once he thought of it. "Wait, if you are me, you can tell me about... myself!" He nodded twice to himself, the thought making sense to him perfectly. After all, this was his conscience, right? And if the conscience had been away for a while, it would know about what happened before it went away. |
